Word Search

Make sure you have your ‘Eyes Open’ as you look closely at this word-search grid. See if you can spot and circle the ten Taylor-related words and phrases. They might be read forwards, backwards, up, down or diagonally. Each word only appears once in the grid.

Rearrange the Letters

The letters in each of the words have been jumbled up. See if you can unscramble them, then write the correct words on the blank lines. Read down the lines to spell out one of Taylor’s many amazing achievements in 2023.

In the photo associated with this achievement, Taylor has her cat Benjamin draped around her neck and shoulders.

Word T racer

Pull on your best boots and prepare to strut your stuff as you dance your way through this letter line-up! Starting in the grey square, follow the directions shown by the arrows to move from one letter to the next. Write each letter in the space provided and reveal the secret song name hidden in the grid.

FUN FACT

Taylor and her co-writer wrote this song about unrequited love after the singer overheard a male friend arguing on the phone with his girlfriend.

Coded Letter Jumble

Taylor loves to play with words and hide messages for her fans in her videos and social media posts, as well as in her songs. Using the code table below, see if you can decipher these words and phrases about Taylor’s early childhood.

This sort of simple substitution cipher, or coded message, is called an Atbash cipher. The top row of the table shows the alphabet, while the bottom row is an encrypted, or coded, version. For Atbash ciphers, the encrypted alphabet is just the alphabet in reverse order. To decipher the words opposite, simply find the encrypted letter in the bottom row and decode it by looking at the letter above it.

Phrase two is the name of the town in which the Swift family had a summer house when Taylor was a child. She has said that she used to sing karaoke and play the guitar in a couple of venues in the town, and it was at the summer house that she wrote her unpublished novel when she was eleven.

Crossword

It’s time to test your Tay-tastic trivia knowledge! See if you can work out the answers to the ten questions, then write them in the boxes opposite. If you get all the answers right, the letters in the grey boxes will spell out the answer to the bonus question.

Word Ladder

Words are amazing things – as Taylor knows all too well! Have fun as you puzzle over how to change one word into another in just a few simple steps.

Starting with the word at the bottom of the ladder, see if you can make your way up to the top word by changing just one letter each time. The words you create on the rungs in between the bottom and the top must be real words that are in the dictionary, and the position of the letters can’t switch around.

For example, to get from WARM to COLD, your word ladder would go: R E D

C O L D C O R D

F A N

C A R D W A R D W A R M

To help you, the position of the letter that changes as you work up the ladder is marked with a thicker dash.
