We’re so glad you’ve joined us at Saint Michael today. We’d love to get to know you better, so please take a moment to fill out the welcome card, either physically or digitally, that can be found on this page or in the pew back in front of you. Our Welcome Team members are in the hallways today to help you with anything you need. Please make sure you pick up a Sunday News handout this morning. It details lots of extra programs between Sundays, such as the new season of Weekday Meditations. As we emphasize the importance of prayer this year, these meditations are an excellent way to incorporate prayer as a regular part of your day. Thousands have been listening, so why not join them. Save the date for the Grand Opening and Dedication of our new building next Sunday, September 27. We will celebrate together at the 10 a.m. hour with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by food, fellowship, and fun that will continue through lunch in the atrium and the plaza. Everyone is welcome, so please bring family and friends to celebrate with us. As we prepare to worship together, I invite you to take a moment and center yourself on God’s presence. Worshiping, learning, and giving together help us grow closer to who God created us to be, and you’re part of that work. May God bless you today and every day, and I hope to see you again very soon!

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. The Holy Communion Earlier this summer, our choristers sang Katherine Burk's "Listen, Sweet Dove" at Evensong during their week-long residency at St. Paul's Cathedral, London—making today's performance a chance to revisit that experience. Burk's graceful setting of George Herbert's Whitsunday text is marked by clarity and gentle lyricism. The music opens with a chant-like invocation recalling the Veni Creator Spiritus before unfolding into flowing lines evoking a dove in flight, its free rhythm and transparent textures letting the text shine.
Here a Proper Preface is sung or said on all Sundays, and on other occasions as appointed.
