We’re so glad you’ve joined us at Saint Michael today. We’d love to get to know you better, so please take a moment to fill out the welcome card, either physically or digitally, that can be found on this page or in the pew back in front of you. Our Welcome Team members are in the hallways today to help you with anything you need. Please look at the back of your bulletin to see the schedule of Sunday classes for all ages that meet during the 10 a.m. hour and find one that fits your needs. In addition to our Sunday classes, please make sure you pick up a Sunday News handout. The Sunday News details lots of extra programs between Sundays, such as those offered by the Women of Saint Michael and the Men of Saint Michael. Tomorrow, we kick off a new season of Weekday Meditations. As we emphasize the importance or prayer this year, these meditations are an excellent way to incorporate prayer as a regular part of your day. Thousands have been listening, so why not try it this year? Save the date for the Grand Opening and Dedication of our new building on Sunday, September 27. We will celebrate together at the 10 a.m. hour with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by food, fellowship, and fun that will continue through lunch in the atrium and the plaza. Everyone is welcome, so please bring family and friends to celebrate with us. As we prepare to worship together, I invite you to take a moment and center yourself on God’s presence. Worshiping, learning, and giving together help us grow closer to who God created us to be, and you’re part of that work. May God bless you today and every day, and I hope to see you again very soon!

The Holy Communion Offertory Anthem (sung by the Saint Michael Choir) Be Still My Soul
English composer Percy Whitlock studied with Ralph Vaughan Williams and Charles Villiers Stanford at the Royal College of Music in the early 20th century. His music retains many Romantic qualities from these teachers while displaying a distinctive style, using harmonies and forms more typical of the mid-to-late century. Whitlock paints the text somberly, closing with a calm, plaintive "Amen." Here a Proper Preface is sung or said on all Sundays, and on other occasions as appointed.
