Today we celebrate two major feasts: All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. These feasts, put together, Re v. D a, t honor the cloud of witnesses a ir r. C hristopher D. G in heaven and on earth.

The Feast of All Saints’ is a moment we all know well. Historically, All Saints’ is an opportunity to remember everyone who has died, from great saints of the Church to our own loved ones. At Saint Michael, however, we have separated the remembrance of saints and the remembrance of our own loved ones into two distinct services on the same day. The Feast of All Saints’ will be celebrated in the morning, honoring the faithful cloud of witnesses, both known and unknown, who have sustained and inspired countless people through two thousand years of ministry. This festive celebration will be full of beautiful music at both morning services, so don’t miss it. In the evening, we will celebrate the Feast of All Souls’. This service will be a choral evensong and is a very special time to remember those we loved personally yet see no longer. In this solemn, candlelit service, we will read aloud the names of those who have died in our community during this past year. As each name is read, we will hold their memory, as well as the memory of so many others, in our hearts and minds. I am grateful to be part of a community that honors the past and looks confidently into the future. The work we do at Saint Michael—building disciples for a transformed community—is critical in today’s world. Your support is not only encouraged but is necessary for our work to continue to grow and for our individual discipleship to deepen. Please give of your time and talent in ministry to

All Souls’ Evensong 5:30 PM | Church Our second annual All Souls’ service is our occasion to recollect our Lord’s promises of eternal life with him and to remember all who have departed this life, especially those who are dear to us and our parish. As a Choral Evensong, the service will feature much choral music geared towards offering us comfort. We are now offering limited in-person worship opportunities for this live-streamed service. These events are ticketed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Through the Paschal mystery, dear friends, we are buried with Christ by Baptism into his death, and raised with him to newness of life. I call upon you, therefore, to renew the solemn promises and vows of Holy Baptism, by which we once renounced Satan and all his works, and promised to serve God faithfully in his holy Catholic Church.
Celebrant Do you reaffirm your renunciation of evil and renew your commitment to Jesus Christ? People I do. Celebrant Do you believe in God the Father? People I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
Celebrant Do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God? People I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Please be seated for the Announcements This anthem, presented today by the Choristers as a virtual anthem, considers our earthly journey towards heaven in light of the Hebrews’ journey into the Promised Land. They feared to cross the Jordan River; we too often fear to cross through death into eternal life. But God’s promises led them, and still lead us, to enter into the joy of God’s kingdom.

Ross Taylor In Matthew 6:21 Jesus says, “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.� In our family, we have always seen this proven to be true. When we think about the things we spend money on, they are invariably the things that matter most to us. Continually giving sacrificially to the church, Saint Michael in particular, has helped connect us in deep and intricate ways to this body of believers and the work that is being done through them for the kingdom. Particularly during a time of increased isolation, we have felt connected to a mission and ministry as we give back resources that God has entrusted us with to help further His kingdom.
Saint Michael and All Angels Stewardship Prayer for Generosity 2021 Dear gracious and generous God, from whom all things were made and are given. Help us be mindful that we are stewards, not owners, of the gifts you so lovingly have bestowed upon us. Let us joyfully give to God what belongs to God, in order that we may build his Kingdom. Grow the hearts of this parish closer to you and to each other as we spread the message of your good news to our parish and beyond. We ask this in the name of our risen Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN.

IN-PERSON WORSHIP (LIMITED SEATS AVAILABLE) For the past six months, in-person gatherings have been strictly limited by government and church authorities due to COVID-19. Now, with the permission of from our governing bodies, Saint Michael is pleased to be offering limited in-person opportunities for worship and communion. If you and your household are well, we look forward to your presence among us. Our present in-person worship offerings include our three Sunday services and Distribution of Communion. There are limited spots for each engagement, and safety measures have been enacted to ensure the protection of all who join us. Offered every Sunday at our 9 a.m. Traditional, 11 a.m. Contemporary, and 8 p.m. Compline services. Reserve tickets for your household at saintmichael.org/worshiptickets. Each Sunday Saint Michael will admit a limited number of attendees to each of our three worship services. We invite all who desire to attend worship in-person to join us with members of your household. As there is limited assigned seating for each service, you must register your household online beforehand to attend. Tickets to each service are available on a first-come, first-served basis one week at a time beginning on Monday mornings. No one will be admitted without a ticket. Livestreams and video recordings of our weekly services remain available so that all can watch and participate. Visit saintmichael.org/live to tune in. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: Tickets will be available one week at a time beginning on Mondays for the upcoming Sunday. Return to saintmichael.org/worshiptickets each week to reserve your tickets. For your safety, the following protocols must be followed while on-site: •
Masks are required inside all church buildings.

Please maintain at least 6-feet distance from those outside your household
•
No shaking hands or physical contact with those outside your household
•
No physical passing of the peace
•
No congregational singing
•
No passing of the offering plate (there are other ways to give!)
•
No distribution of Communion during the livestream services; consecrated bread is available in the Saint Michael Chapel on Sunday at 12:30 P.M. – 1:30 P.M.
•
No coffee or congregating in the church after the service has concluded. The people will exit out the main sanctuary door immediately after the service.
