We’re so glad you’ve joined us at Saint Michael today. We’d love to get to know you better, so please take a moment to fill out the welcome card, either physically or digitally, that can be found on this page or in the pew back in front of you. Our Welcome Team members are in the hallways today to help you with anything you need.
June is here, and we are now fully into the summer season. I am so grateful for all those who made Youth Mission Week and Vacation Bible School such a gift to so many young people. I also hope you’ve joined us for our Pub Theology series. Tomorrow, June 15, we welcome Andrew Grosso whose topic is “At Home in the Universe: Cosmology and the Search for Meaning,” and then conclude the series with Robin Hinkle on June 22. Please pick up a copy of the Sunday News on your way out for more information on programs throughout the summer.
On a personal note, this summer marks my 10-year anniversary at Saint Michael, and I am truly grateful. You have opened your hearts to me and to my family, and your love has been an incredible gift to us. Beginning this week, and with the generous support of the Vestry, I will take a sabbatical until mid-August. As I step away from my daily work, I want to thank all those who will carry my responsibilities forward, both parishioner and staff leaders. Knowing that our community is strong allows me to step away with confidence. This sabbatical will be a gift of renewal for the next season of our life together, one that I pray lasts at least another 10 years!
As we prepare to worship together, I invite you to take a moment and center yourself on God’s presence. Worshiping, learning, and giving together help us grow closer to who God created us to be, and you’re part of that work. May God bless you today and every day, and I hope to see you again very soon!
