The holy season of Lent is less than two weeks away. Far from a time of condemnation, Lent serves as a poignant reminder of God’s love and grace, allowing individuals to be honest and true in the absence of judgment, and fostering a community of openness and authenticity. Ash Wednesday is February 18 and we will have services throughout the day, so please make a plan to join us.
During Lent, we will offer a new season of Weekday Meditations from the Saint Michael clergy, as well as Lenten Devotionals through A Word for Thought each day to support your growth. In addition, I hope you will consider joining us for our Annual Lenten Retreat, led by the Rev. Dr. Russell Levenson, and events in March led by the Women of Saint Michael and the Men of Saint Michael will help you make the most of this holy season.
Please pick up a Sunday News handout if you haven’t already and join us for our special programming whenever you can. As we prepare to worship together, I invite you to take a moment and center yourself on God’s presence. Worshiping, learning, and giving together help us grow closer to who God created us to be, and you’re part of that work. May God bless you today and every day, and I hope to see you again very soon!

The Nicene Creed (standing, said by all)
All We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. We give thanks to you, O God, for the goodness and love which you have made known to us in creation; in the calling of Israel to be your people; in your Word spoken through the prophets; and above all in the Word made flesh, Jesus, your Son.
