Dear friends, welcome to Saint Michael! We hope you are enjoying the new building. Sunday School for all ages resumes today at 10 a.m. To get to Sunday School, most people will use the new connector by the Parish Hall. For mobility-impaired individuals, there is a lift as you approach the connector, or you may use the school elevator on the first floor. Families of young children will check into Sunday school using the kiosks in the second-floor connector, youth will walk straight into the Youth Center and check in using the iPads, and adult classes will be held on the north end of the hallway. Adults will register for classes and check-in by using the Saint Michael app at saintmichael.org/campusmaps. In adult Sunday School today, Ken Brannon and Carrie Headington are beginning a 3-part series on evangelism, Chris Girata is leading the Parent’s Class, and Tim Smith is starting a deep dive into Romans. Whichever service you attend today, be sure to make 10 a.m. classes a part of your Sunday routine!

The flowers adorning the altar are given to the glory of God and in memory of Dan W. Stansbury. Andrew Carter (b. 1939) is a contemporary English composer celebrated for his warm, accessible writing for choir and organ, much of it rooted in the English cathedral tradition. This Aria offers a gentle, songful melody over a flowing accompaniment, unhurried and lyrical in character — a fitting way to settle the heart as worship begins. Children ages three through eight are invited to proceed to children’s chapel by exiting through the east doors at the back of the nave; they will return to the nave following the Peace.

Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if one blind person guides another, both will fall into a pit.” But Peter said to him, “Explain this parable to us.” Then he said, “Are you also still without understanding? Anton Bruckner, a 19th-century composer known for his traditional style and frequent revisions, is best remembered for grand choral and orchestral works, though he was also a skilled organist. This anthem showcases his sacred choral writing with elegant part-writing, lyrical lines, and subtle textural shifts.
