PREPARED FOR NANCY PARKER TICE AND PAUL TICE
The Tice Family Fund for Inclusive Growth was established in 2022 by Nancy Parker Tice and Paul Tice as an endowed fund whose earnings strengthen programs and initiatives that support students, faculty and staff who bring a wide range of perspectives and experiences, helping the entire SLUH community to thrive.

To help our students grow as future leaders in a diverse world, our DEI program guides them to understand and appreciate the diversity within the SLUH community. This begins with a presentation for incoming freshmen at Direction Days that promotes the theme, “Brotherhood is something we create.” Through advisory lessons, all students learn about the meaning of diversity, equity and inclusion and how they apply to SLUH, to St. Louis, the USA and the world.
Students have the opportunity to join affinity groups that give them a safe space to connect with others of similar backgrounds while also connecting to students of different backgrounds through ACES (the Association for Cultural Enrichment at SLUH). PACES (the Parent Association for Cultural Enrichment at SLUH), the parent counterpoint to ACES, supports SLUH students and gives SLUH parents the chance to come together to learn and advise school leadership. These groups all meet at least monthly throughout the year and sponsor events both for their members and for the larger SLUH community.
ACES is a student group committed to encouraging awareness and discussion of diversity issues and making SLUH a place where all students feel welcome.
Affinity groups under ACES:
• ANTI-RACIST COALITION explores implicit biases and systemic racism while seeking to effectively eliminate these evils.
• ASIAN STUDENT ALLIANCE offers students of Asian Pacific heritage opportunities to celebrate diverse Asian heritages while educating and enriching the school community.
• BLACK STUDENT UNION offers a safe space for African American students to discuss relevant issues that impact their emotional well being.
• HISPANOS Y LATINOS UNIDOS welcomes all SLUH students, especially Hispanic and Latinos, to be part of a group that spends time together and shares experiences and perspectives.
• ONGOING CONVERSATIONS offers space for students to have open, honest discussions about sexuality, gender identity and Catholic social teaching. Respect and sensitivity are a top priority.
• SLUH STUDENTS FOR GENDER EQUALITY (SLUH4GE, pronounced “SLUH Forge”) seeks to acknowledge, educate club members and spread awareness of issues regarding gender equality at SLUH and beyond.
