AMDG FUND

The AMDG Fund was established in 2024 by Aja and Pat Stokes as an endowed fund whose earnings support the needs and upkeep of the Chapel of the Beloved Disciple and the St. Peter Faber, SJ Center for Campus Ministry.

THE IMPACT

THIS PAST ACADEMIC YEAR

5 CAMPUS MINISTERS

ON STAFF IN ADDITION TO TEACHING

11 STUDENTS

ENTERED THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

Campus Ministry programs and the chapel are an integral part of every single student’s SLUH experience. We have been able to provide transformative faith experiences, service opportunities and spiritual growth for our school community.

RETREATS AND SPIRITUAL FORMATION

• Our four-year retreat program offers students intentional time away to deepen their faith and bond as a class

- Freshman and sophomore class-wide retreats lay the foundation for later retreats

- All juniors attended one of seven Kairos retreats

- Seniors choose from a menu of retreats, which includes the opportunity to lead underclassmen on their retreat

• Quarterly class Mass, multiple all-school Masses and daily Mass are all offered

• Each grade has a Pastoral Team which meets weekly for fellowship, prayer and plannnig for campus ministry events

SERVICE AND OUTREACH

• Each freshman is asked to complete two service afternoons in the community

• Sophomores complete 10 hours of service in conjunction with their theology class

• Each Senior participates in Senior Project, an 18-day program in January where each Senior steps away from their SLUH classroom and serves full time with marginalized popuations in St. Louis

• Students participate in the Fall Food Drive and Christmas Drive

FAITH-BASED NATIONAL ENGAGEMENT

• Campus Ministry sends groups of students to two national events, each hosted by the Jesuit Schools Network:

- Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice: the largest Catholic social justice gathering in the U.S., bringing together students from Jesuit schools nationwide to engage in faith-driven advocacy in Washington, D.C.

- Arrupe Leaders Summit: Students from Jesuit schools nation wide come together for a weekend of leadership training reflection, and action in Mount Hermon, CA.
