Ever since we produced our very first small pieces of wickerware in 1951, we have been committed to sourcing the very best materials for our furniture. Raw materials were imported from the Far East, whilst the design, development and production took place in Sunnmøre, on the west coast of Norway.

Through the subsequent decades of in-house production, our experience has enabled us to develop a real expertise in woven furniture. Today, this knowledge is carried forward into the development of our outdoor furniture. We continue to select the finest, most weather-resistant materials, collaborate with the most skilled craftsmen, and create designs that never compromise on quality or seating comfort.

Only raw materials of the highest quality are selected, carefully sourced from certified suppliers who work ethically and responsibly. We only use exclusively premium teak with natural oils that protect against wear, and preserve quality over time. For wicker and rope, we have developed advanced synthetic materials that withstand sun, frost and heat. All our textiles are resistant to dirt and fading, and are colour-coordinated in a timeless palette.

The result is furniture that can stand up to the climate you live in – and the life you lead.

Genuine craftsmanship begins long before a piece of furniture assumes its physical form. It begins with precision – from the very first idea. Every detail, from form and function to material choice, is carefully considered. Through exquisite craftsmanship and meticulous weaving, we seamlessly blend strength, comfort, and aesthetics into a unified whole.

This process demands experience, a trained eye, and a deep understanding of a material’s properties – an art mastered only by the most skilled artisans. There are no shortcuts to lasting quality.

With the Elm sofa, you can take the comfort of the living room outdoors. The sofa has a contemporary look, and is available in two sizes, as well as a chaise longue version. The softly shaped frame, taut rope detailing and generous curved cushions create a striking piece. The Elm sofa pairs beautifully with the new Montego lounge chair, inspired by Slettvoll’s award-winning Mathis chair.

The Elm sofa features a bronze-coloured frame that fuses perfectly with the warm tones of the rope and the light upholstery of the cushions. The cushions are made from practical, quick-drying materials. The Montego chair has a bronze-coloured frame with stainless steel legs. Together, these Elm and Montego pieces form an inviting grouping with the Anzio coffee table, that features a durable ceramic granite top which is highly resistant to stains, sunlight and scratches.

Durban is a stackable aluminium dining chair with teak detailing, and a highly durable textile weave. It is also now available in a new linen-coloured weave and bronze-coloured aluminium. The seat cushion is made from Quick Dry material that is rain resistant and dries quickly. The Rodi bench is crafted from premium teak with a black aluminium frame. Its clean, understated design looks equally at home, by the sea, in the mountains, or in the garden. The seat cushion can be secured to the bench and is compact to store when not in use. The cushion is slightly shorter than the bench, creating a practical surface beside it for placing a cup of coffee.

We have introduced a lounge chair and bar stool as additions to the Durban outdoor furniture collection. Both are made from durable materials, and are designed to withstand whatever weather summer brings.

The cushions are made from removable Quick Dry material, which is showerproof and resistant to mould and direct sun.

The Marty daybed is a spacious and luxurious piece, allowing you to lean back fully and stretch out. The daybed is as wide as a two-seater sofa and can easily be dismantled into two parts for storage.

OUTDOOR DECORATIVE CUSHIONS

At Slettvoll, you will find a selection of decorative cushions suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. These are made from durable textiles developed to resist fading from sunlight.

PROTECTIVE COVERS

Dirt-repellent and waterproof covers in various sizes, tailored to Slettvoll outdoor furniture and furniture groups. The covers are carefully developed to protect the furniture from rain and moisture and are supplied in a practical storage bag.

PROTECTIVE COVERS

Each cover is crafted with meticulous workmanship and meets very high requirements for quality, sustainability and environmental responsibility. The material is developed to be aesthetically pleasing and long-lasting, even when used daily and exposed to rain, cold and strong sunlight.

Materials and care

WICKER

Slettvoll outdoor furniture is hand-woven in high-quality polyethylene (PE), which does not release carbon dioxide or hydrochloride when discarded. The material withstands UV radiation without fading and is developed to tolerate both frost and heat (–15 to +70 °C). The wicker material is usually maintenance-free. Simply rinse with clean water.

TEAK

Slettvoll exclusively uses untreated SVLK-certified (sustainable and responsible forestry) plantation teak for our outdoor furniture. All our tables are supplied in premium teak. Teak is known for its high quality and durability in all types of weather. It has a naturally high content of wood oils.

When teak is used outdoors, it develops a patinated grey tone over time. The furniture can easily be cleaned with mild soapy water or Teak Cleaner when required and can be treated with neutral oil. Cracks may appear if the furniture is exposed to significant variations in humidity. We recommend using Teak Shield regularly from when the product is new, in order to protect the surface against dirt, stains and black spots.

ALUMINIUM

Aluminium is a lightweight and rust-free material that withstands variable weather conditions well. It also requires minimal maintenance to remain in good condition for many years. In addition, aluminium is a recyclable material. Our outdoor furniture is available in black and bronze-coloured finishes.

TEXTILES

Slettvoll’s outdoor collection is supplied in textile made from 100% Olefin. It offers excellent protection against UV rays (UPF 50+) and is treated to withstand saltwater. It is also impregnated to repel dirt and water. The textile is protected against fading and discolouration and is easy to maintain. Use a soft brush and clean water, or gentle machine wash at 40 °C.

The textile carries the OEKO-TEX label and is produced in an environmentally responsible manner. Cushions and fabrics should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated place when not in use.

QUICK DRY CUSHIONS

Slettvoll’s Quick Dry cushions are designed to be water-resistant. They are made from open-cell foam with a breathable mesh fabric on the underside, allowing water to pass straight through, so that it dries quickly.

The durable cushion cover is resistant to both mould and exposure to sunlight. The cushion can be cleaned with the cover on. Use mild soapy water and rinse thoroughly. The cover can also be removed and gently machine washed. After the cushions have been out in the rain, they should be placed on their edge so that water and moisture drains as quickly as possible.

Although the cushions can remain outdoors in rain, we recommend that dry cushions are brought indoors or protected with covers if they are not to be used for an extended period, to avoid them becoming dirty. The Elm and Durban models are supplied with Quick Dry cushions.

CERAMIC TABLETOPS

Slettvoll ceramic tabletops are highly compact and durable. They are resistant to scratches, are nonabsorbent, and will not become discoloured or bleached by sunlight. The tabletops can be cleaned with mild soapy water, but otherwise are maintenance-free.
