Welcome to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, where spring is celebrated through color, agriculture, and community. Each year, tulip blooms sweep across the Skagit Valley, creating an iconic landscape that draws visitors from all over the world.
As a nonprofit organization founded in 1984, the Festival exists to honor Skagit Valley’s agricultural heritage while highlighting the beauty and diversity that define our region. We are dedicated to supporting local farmers, strengthening the local economy, encouraging community involvement, and celebrating the many varieties of tulips that make this season so special.
Whether you’re strolling through the vibrant gardens, enjoying local art, or taking part in one of our seasonal events, we hope your visit is memorable and meaningful. Thank you for joining us in the heart of Skagit Valley and being part of this special spring tradition.
“The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is more than fields of flowers — it’s farmers, families, artists, small businesses, and generations of tradition coming together to celebrate this extraordinary place we call home.”
– Nicole Roozen, Executive Director
Each spring, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival hosts a variety of events that celebrate community, creativity, and local tradition.
The Annual Tulip Parade returns to downtown La Conner as a beloved Festival highlight. The parade will take place on April 11th and begins at 12:00 PM, featuring vintage cars, community organizations, and family-friendly fun. The parade is proudly sponsored by Savi, powered by Harborstone Credit Union. Prior to the parade, families are invited to enjoy the KidZone, a free activity area for kids running from 10:00–11:30 AM, co-presented by Global Credit Union, Quantum Construction, Ziply Fiber, and King Arthur Baking School.
The Festival also presents the Tulip Festival Art Exhibit,

sponsored by The Skagit Casino Resort, showcasing original tulip-themed artwork by local artists from Skagit, Island, San Juan, Whatcom, and Snohomish counties. The exhibit will be on display at the Depot Arts Center in Anacortes from April 3rd–13th, in partnership with the Anacortes Arts Festival, before moving to Dry Inside in downtown Mount Vernon from April 16th–30th.
For a full schedule of events, visit our events page: tulipfestival.org/events
Together, these events offer visitors and locals alike the opportunity to experience the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival beyond the fields through art, family activities, and community traditions.

Each tulip display garden manages its own ticketing system. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the garden. We strongly recommend pre-purchasing tickets to guarantee your preferred date. To help plan your visit, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival website (tulipfestival.org) provides convenient links to purchase tickets for all four display gardens: RoozenGaarde, Tulip Town, Garden Rosalyn, and Tulip Valley Farms.
Pro tip: Garden tickets are non-refundable, so purchase only once you’ve confirmed your visit date.
The festival is spread across multiple locations — there’s no single site — so you’ll need a vehicle or bicycle to travel

between gardens. For planning, use the interactive maps on tulipfestival.org or pick up a brochure with maps at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival Headquarters & Store (311 W Kincaid St.) in downtown Mount Vernon.
Traffic tip: Weekends can be busy. Plan a mid-week visit or arrive early in the morning to enjoy a quieter experience. Use SR 20, Exit 230 in Burlington, to access the fields via side roads and reduce congestion.
Pets: Well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed at Garden Rosalyn, Tulip Town, and Tulip Valley Farms. Pets are not permitted at RoozenGaarde.
Free parking is available at all gardens:
RoozenGaarde: Beaver Marsh Road
Tulip Town: Bradshaw Road
Tulip Valley Farms: Bradshaw Road & Pulver Road
Garden Rosalyn: Junquist Road
Drones: Drones are prohibited at RoozenGaarde, Garden Rosalyn, and Tulip Town. At Tulip Valley Farms, drone use is allowed with express prior approval.
Bloom timing varies each year based on variety and weather, with an early bloom predicted this season. Check the bloom status often for updates. Plan around special events – the parade, art exhibits, and themed activities fill April. Follow the festival on Facebook or Insta-

gram or call 360-428-5959 for real-time updates.
Make a Pit Stop: Bring snacks or stop in town before heading to the gardens to avoid waiting during peak traffic.
Dress for the Weather: Skagit Valley spring weather is unpredictable — wear layers, waterproof jackets, and comfortable shoes or boots.
Picnics: Many gardens welcome visitors to enjoy a picnic on-site.

Surrounded by the inland waters of the Salish Sea, Anacortes is home to an incredible range of marine wildlife. Plenty of seals, sea lions and porpoises call Washington home, as well as an array of seabirds like the popular Tufted Puffin. Along with these animals, many species of whales inhabit these waters, whether it be the larger humpback and gray whales, the elusive minke whales, or the famous killer whales, also known as orca. The history of whale watching in the
around Anacortes: Southern Resident Killer Whales (SRKW) and Transient, or Bigg’s, Killer Whales. While they share the same sea, they differ dramatically in diet, behavior, and culture: to the point where they do not mate or even interact with each other!
Perhaps the most famous killer whales in the world are SRKWs, and although there are an estimated 50,000 killer whales worldwide, SRKWs have struggled in recent years and their numbers have steadily declined. Consisting of

Though Anacortes does offer some opportunities to catch a glimpse of whales from shore, coming aboard ethical whale-watching tours is often the best option to truly experience seeing whales in their natural habitat. Outer Island Excursions, a whale-watching operator here in Anacortes, prides itself in educating the public about wildlife, while also acting as sentinels on the water. Marine naturalists and captains often alert other boats to whale presence, remove harmful debris, and even occasionally assist the Stranding Network with entangled animals, making these waters a safer place for whales and wildlife through action

Spend the morning in the tulip fields. Spend the afternoon and evening in Anacortes.
The festival highlights Skagit Valley’s rich agricultural history and warm community. It offers year-round education via social media (160,000 followers) and the festival website (600,000 visitors). Behind the scenes farming practices and local growers’ hard work are focal points.
The festival contributes to Skagit Valley’s economic prosperity, with more than 450,000 attendees spending an av-

erage of $186 each. In 2025, the festival generated over $53 million in estimated revenue.
The festival supports children’s education through the Tulip Ambassador Program. It encourages community engagement, public speaking, leadership skills, and environmental awareness. The festival manages traffic flow and signage to help visitors navigate the area, partnering with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the Sheriff’s Department, Public Works and law enforcement.

RoozenGaarde, one of the most iconic gardens of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, began with the Roozen family’s deep tulip-growing roots in Holland. In 1947, William “Bill” Roozen brought his family’s centuries-old expertise to the Skagit Valley, and in 1955, he purchased Washington Bulb Company, which has become North America’s largest producer of tulip and daffodil bulbs. To showcase their flowers, RoozenGaarde was founded in 1985 as a public display garden—its name meaning “rose garden” in Dutch, honoring the family’s heritage.
Today, RoozenGaarde is more than a garden, it’s a working family-owned farm and floral destination where expert gardeners hand-plant over a million bulbs each year in their ten acre display garden.

Visitors

Founded in 1984 by Dutch immigrants Tom and Jeannette DeGoede, Tulip Town has grown into one of the most beloved destinations of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Now owned by local investors under Spinach Bus Ventures, Tulip Town continues to expand its offerings. Guests can wander six acres of tulips featuring more than 50 varieties, take trolley rides through the fields, explore the Beer & Wine Garden, visit the on-site gift shop, and enjoy dog-friendly grounds. With its combination of stunning blooms and engaging activities, Tulip Town provides a vibrant celebration of spring for families, photographers, and flower lovers alike.

Since opening in 2022, Tulip Valley Farms has offered visitors a one-of-a-kind tulip experience in the Skagit Valley as the region’s only u-pick tulip farm. Designed to provide an immersive, guest-focused visit, the farm combines vibrant blooms with creative touches and family-friendly activities.
Spanning 12+ acres and featuring 140+ tulip varieties, Tulip Valley Farms invites visitors to wander the fields, pick their own tulips, and meet the micro mini-Highland cows. The farm also offers unique experiences like after-hours night blooms with lights and music, along with pet-friendly access for furry friends. From colorful rows of tulips between the hazelnut trees to hands-on activities, Tulip Valley Farms provides a fun and interactive way to enjoy the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

The official poster for the 2026 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival was created by local artist, Kylie Fair Anderson, whose vibrant work captures the magic of tulip season with purple blooms beneath a luminous rainbow. Kylie, who grew up in the Skagit Valley, draws deep inspiration from the unique shapes, colors, and stories she finds in tulip fields, from bending stems to shimmering puddles and the subtle details between the rows.
Using oil paints, she built the piece from an initial sketch through layered colors and experimented until each element felt right, including her first-ever rainbow and reflection effect. With bright energy and a love for bold light and scenic landscapes, her style reflects both the tulips and the spirit of her community.
Kylie hopes her poster brings joy, evokes fond memories for festivalgoers, and invites everyone, whether new to the Festival or longtime attendees, to pause and enjoy the beauty of spring in the Skagit Valley.

On February 12th, 2026, the stage at Maple Hall in La Conner was filled with excitement as local 4th and 5th graders from across the Skagit Valley gathered to audition for the 2026 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival Ambassador Program. Each student bravely stepped into the spotlight, answering two questions: why they wanted to be a Tulip Ambassador and a surprise question drawn from a basket. After an inspiring evening of thoughtful answers, big smiles, and plenty of tulip spirit, judges totaled the scores and selected two outstanding representatives.
The evening was made possible by our Title Sponsor, HF Sinclair Puget Sound Refinery, whose generous support extends beyond the festival and reflects a deep commitment to our local youth and agricultural community.
We are thrilled to announce our 2026
Skagit Valley Tulip Ambassador winners, Lucy Geddes and Baxter Kurz! This spring, Lucy and Baxter will represent the valley with pride, enjoying private tours of all four tulip gardens alongside the farmers, traveling to Olympia to meet Governor Ferguson and present him with the official

2026 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival poster, being interviewed on a local radio show, and taking part in other special behindthe-scenes experiences. We can’t wait to watch them share their enthusiasm and love for our community throughout the festival season.
