Every year, this fair serves as a vibrant reflection of who we are. It’s a celebration of our rich traditions, our local talent, and the deep roots that tie us all together. But more than anything, this fair is a testament to the incredible spirit of our community. An event of this size doesn’t just happen overnight. It is built from the ground up by the hands of countless neighbors, friends, and families. To our unbelievable army of volunteers—from those who spent months planning, to the folks sweeping the barns and greeting you at the gates—thank you. You are the heartbeat of this fair, and your dedication is a perfect example of what makes our community so special. Whether you are here to cheer on our hardworking youth, enjoy the thrill of the carnival, sample your favorite fair foods, or simply catch up with old friends, I hope you feel the scnews.com

he Stanwood Camano Community Fairgrounds stand south of the City of Stanwood, an hour north of Seattle and 45 minutes south of Bellingham at 6431 Pioneer Highway, Stanwood, WA. By car, take exit 212 from Interstate 5. Travel west three miles on Highway 532. Turn left on 64th Avenue and continue about half a mile. The fairgrounds are on the right and parking is on the left.

This year is especially historic: as the nation reflects on its 250th anniversary, our cherished local fair is marking its 93rd run since starting as a humble, one-day harvest festival back in 1932. Whether you are a lifelong resident or crossing the bridge from Camano Island for your very first visit, the 2026 theme, “Stars, Stripes & Fair Delights,” promises an unforgettable weekend. 1. Step Back in Time with Live Threshing Demonstrations

he Davanos were co-founded in 2003 by the incredibly talented duo of guitarist Jerry Battista and drummer Fred Holzman, while bassist Greg Youtsey completes the trifecta. Battista played guitar for the seminal Seattle band The Allies in 1982-83. The Davanos play a combination of classic rock, blues, country western along with some of their own originals.

WHISKEY RIVER Saturday, August 1st | 8:30PM

or over four decades Whiskey River’s musicians have thrilled audiences all over America playing the music of the legendary southern-rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Re-creating the image and the music of the southern rock band that took the world by storm in the 1970’s. Whiskey River not only plays Lynyrd Skynyrd, they personify the group onstage. Through their serious and tireless commitment to the original Ronnie Van Zandt era Lynyrd Skynyrd, they have deconstructed and reconstructed every detail of every part of every song from the original bands recordings. Their 30+ year history of phenomenal performances have earned them the title: “America’s #1

Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band”. Their show is primarily a representation of the multiplatinum album: “One More From The Road” and “Freebird The Movie”. The show is also augmented by several classics from the original band’s last album “Street Survivors” .

Remember that this is a family fair, and all acts will be reviewed by the Fair Board at Thursday’s rehearsal for appropriateness of costumes and lyric content. Contestants can be disqualified if felt necessary by the Fair Board. 4. Youth will be 17 years of age and under. 5. All acts need to be less than 4 minutes in length or will be disqualified. 6. All music must be on a playback device i.e. phone/ipod. Everything must be mailed and postmarked by July 25, 2026. Nothing will be accepted after this date. 7. All entries must be present on Thursday, July 30th, 2026, or will be disqualified. 8. ome exhibit at Washington’s largest community fair! No 4-H or FFA membership is required—everyone is welcome. Youth may showcase animals and projects, and adults are invited to enter our diverse indoor categories. Please note: animal barns are reserved for youth exhibitors; however, our horse show and gaming events and the Sunday dog rally obedience are open to participants of all ages. ENTRY TIMES Tuesday, July 28th 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Youth and adult indoor exhibits accepted Not accepted: flowers, vegetables, baking, and produce Wednesday, July 29th 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Youth and adult indoor exhibits accepted, including flowers, vegetables, baking, and produce Thursday, July 30th Livestock and small animal exhibits accepted (See Schedule of Events for specific times.) TIPS FOR FIRST TIME EXHIBITORS 1. If possible, bring your exhibit during slower daytime hours. 2. Bring produce, flowers, and baked goods on Wednesday evening to ensure freshness for judging. Produce and flowers may be refreshed as needed. 3. Youth exhibitors are limited to 15 different craft exhibits. 4. Entries must have been completed since the last Fair. 5. Read the premium list carefully, especially requirements for quantities (e.g., number of fruits, scnews.com

vegetables, or cookies). 6 Ensure all pictures are ready to hang. Test them at home before bringing them to the Fair. 7. Youth livestock exhibitors must complete the online entry form by: • July 15 for sheep, alpaca/ llama, swine, fiber goats, dairy goats, pygmy goats, meat goats, dairy cattle, beef cattle, and small animals • July 25 for horse show and dog show 8. Don’t hesitate to ask hosts, exhibitors, or superintendents for help. You may become a Grand Champion!

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT The Stanwood-Camano Community Fair is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged exhibits, including animals. While we do our best to protect all exhibits, participation is at the exhibitor’s own risk. The Fair, its employees, directors/ officers, and volunteers shall be held harmless against any loss during the Fair. Animal exhibitors must submit a signed Hold Harmless Agreement. • The Levison Stumphouse (1975): One of the fair’s most unusual attractions, this structure was fashioned from a massive cedar stump discovered by Torsten “T.G.” Levison on his farm east of Cedarhome. • The Old Post Office (1920s): Originally a lakeside fish shack on Lake Howard, this building served as a storage shed before being donated by Erich and Dolly Pachur and moved to the fair grounds in 1991. Preserving the Past By breathing new life into these weathered timbers, volunteers hope to spark curiosity and education for years to come. During fair season and community events, these cabins transcend their role as mere displays, serving as vibrant, tangible classrooms where the history of the StanwoodCamano area truly comes alive.
