Pre-operative Group and Hold or Crossmatch Testing
Information for patients attending hospital for an upcoming procedure
Your doctor has requested a Group and Hold or Crossmatch for your upcoming procedure. Please note this sample collection will no longer be valid if at any time between now and your procedure either of the following occurs:
• You receive a blood component transfusion
• (If female) You become pregnant or have a termination of pregnancy
If either of the above occurs you MUST notify your local Clinical Labs Blood Bank.
Contact 1300 134 111 and request to be transferred through to the blood bank department in your state.
If you are not having an upcoming procedure then this information is not relevant to your testing.
