WOMEN’S HISTORY & IRISH AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH Acknowledging contributions to our history, culture, and society by marginalized groups are an important part of understanding a more complete American history. March focuses on two important groups. Women’s History Month: Women’s achievements and sacrifices cover all fields of American History despite their absence in educational text. Celebrating women provides an opportunity to advocate for equality and challenge discrimination. Irish American Heritage Month: Millions of Irish immigrants have shaped American history for over 300 years while fighting stereotypes and prejudice to find acceptance. Celebrate contributions by learning about Irish American Culture and history.
