June is the official month for summer with so many things happening in our community. Whether you are coming to SoJo Summerfest, getting your walk in, or going to an outdoor luau dance party, remember that according to the Centers for Disease Control, if you are over 65 then you are more prone to heat problems. Stay cool by wearing loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing and drink plenty of water. If your living space is hot, then come enjoy the centers air conditioning and have lunch, play mahjong, canasta, or pool, and then attend the oil painting class and gentle stretch and meditation! SoJo Fire Department will be here on the 18th with some great tips on how to avoid injury but also what to do if you do get injured. So this month as we celebrate Dads, Pride, and Juneteenth remember your water bottle, and maybe run through the sprinklers at the splash pad on your way into the center.
