The City of South Jordan recently announced that the Gale Center of History and Culture will now be The Gale Museum. This museum, where the richness of South Jordanās history and the wonder of a childrenās museum converge, will host a Grand Reopening Event on September 9th. Known for its fun, free, and diverse exhibits, the museum has seen increasing attendance over the last year thanks to word of mouth. However, many residents remain unaware of its existence. The rebranding aims to enhance the museumās visibility and better highlight its mission and unique offerings, particularly its childfriendly exhibits.
Visitor Feedback and Museum Enhancements
distinct value The Gale Museum offers.
The rebranding will build on this foundation, continuing to enhance child-friendly exhibits that cater to the needs and interests of families. These enhancements, including painting and signage changes, aim to make

Grand Reopening Celebration
Visitor feedback has highlighted a high demand for more interactive and child-friendly exhibits. The rebranding initiative is set to align the Gale Museumās public image with its mission of providing an enriching, family-friendly experience. The aim is to expand awareness of the museumās offerings to families with children, local community members, schools, and educational groups by emphasizing the museumās unique position as a fun, free, and engaging cultural hub. This initiative also seeks to clear up the confusion with other amenities in the area, ensuring that South Jordan residents recognize the
The Gale Museum an even more attractive destination for educational and recreational visits. The inspiration behind the new branding is rooted in museum visitors and the South Jordan community. The museum focuses on being a family-friendly history museum with lots of hands-on exhibits, and the new logo reļ¬ects that playfulness and energy. The colors in the logo pick up the City logoās greens and it incorporates two new shades of blue. The darker blue matches a museum-favorite object: a 1910 Detroit Automatic scale that was in the Holt Store for decades. The lighter
The Grand Reopening promises to be a celebratory event, marking the culmination of the rebranding efforts. This event will showcase the child-friendly exhibits, aiming to draw in both new visitors and returning patrons. The public is welcome to join the celebration on Monday, September 9th from 4-6 p.m., for a ribbon-cutting, activities for kids (and kids at heart!), and the ļ¬rst look at the museumās new appearance. Watch South Jordanās social media and website to stay updated on the reopening party!
āThe museum is a fun, free, and engaging cultural hub.ā
While the Gale Museum is closed for rebranding, we ask for your patience and understanding. The temporary closure is a necessary step to bring these exciting changes to life. Rest assured, it will be worth the wait. The enhanced visitor experience will offer even more opportunities for families and community members to engage with local history and culture in a fun and educational way.

Notice of Budget Billing Recalculations and Rate Changes
South Jordan residents who utilize budget billing should be aware that their monthly utility payments have been recalculated. Each year, the Utility Billing department reviews the past yearās utility data to determine a consistent monthly amount for customers on budget billing. This recalculation has been completed, and the new budget billing amounts are reļ¬ected on the July statements, which began arriving in mailboxes at the start of August.
*PRIZES ARE FOR THE FIRST 10 PEOPLE WHO COME
In addition to the budget billing updates, there have been rate changes for stormwater, garbage service, and water, effective with the new ļ¬scal year. These changes are also reļ¬ected in the July statement. We encourage residents to review their statements carefully to understand these adjustments.
For any questions regarding your new budget billing amount, please contact the Utility Billing department at billing@sjc.utah.gov. Details on the recent rate changes can be viewed on our website.

A
s we kick off a new school year, I want you to know that Iām cheering for all students, parents, teachers, and staff that live or work in South Jordan. The start of a new year is always ļ¬lled with excitement and anticipation. This year is also a bit sad for me as our youngest is starting college. With six kids, this is the ļ¬rst time in 25 years that our family has not had anyone starting a new year in K-12. (It goes fast my friends, enjoy these moments!)
Did you know there are 23 schools in South Jordan? Plus Herriman High right on our border, which is a South Jordan feeder school with over 2/3 of the student body made up of South Jordan residents. Ensuring the safety of all students as they return to school is our top priority. Our South Jordan Police Department and Jordan School District ofļ¬cials have been working diligently over the summer to enhance security measures, improve trafļ¬c controls around school zones, update safe walking routes, and ensure safety protocols within our schools. I encourage all parents to have conversations with their children about safety, whether itās being aware of their surroundings, practicing safe walking routes, or understanding the importance of speaking up if something doesnāt seem right. Together, we can create a secure environment where our children can focus on their education and personal development.
I also want to thank many of you for your continued support and involvement in the schools. Whether you
are volunteering in classrooms, are a member of the PTA or on a school community council, attend school board meetings, drive carpools, make donations to the principalās pantries, or simply offer words of encouragement to students and educators, your contributions make a signiļ¬cant difference. Letās make this school year one of collaboration, safety, and success for everyone. Wishing each of our students, their families, and our outstanding educators a fantastic 2024-2025 school year!
