Never leave running vehicles unattended or cars unlocked, even for a quick trip inside. It’s an invitation to criminals to at least rummage through your vehicle, and at worst, take off with it. Social Media Ad Scams: Be wary of deals on social media that seem too good to be true—they often are. Scammers use ads to sell counterfeit or non-existent items. Before purchasing, research the seller, look for customer reviews, and avoid deals that direct you to unusual checkout pages. Package Delivery Text Scams: Many receive texts claiming there’s an issue with a delivery and asking for personal information. Never click on these links or provide details. Verify directly through the carrier’s website using a tracking number. Gift Card Scams: If someone asks you to pay with a gift card, it’s a scam.
