the HR Cut Benefit Alerts: Health Savings Account Thinking ahead about healthcare costs can feel overwhelming. A Health Savings Account, or HSA, is one tool that can help make it simpler and more flexible. What is a Health Savings Account A Health Savings Account is a personal medical savings account that can be used alongside our Harvard Pilgrim POS 3750 and POS 5500 health insurance plans. It allows you to set aside money specifically for healthcare expenses. Why consider contributing to an HSA Contributions you make to your HSA are not subject to income tax, up to IRS limits. For 2026, the limits are $4,400 for individuals and $8,750 for families, with an additional $1,000 allowed if you are age 55 or older. The funds in your HSA belong to you and stay with you even if your job or insurance changes. Money used for qualified medical, dental, or vision expenses is withdrawn tax free. Once you turn 65, you can withdraw funds for any reason without a penalty. Why this matters An HSA gives you more control over how and when you pay for healthcare. It can help you manage current medical expenses, plan for future needs, and build a tax advantaged resource that supports your long term financial wellbeing. Am I eligible You are eligible to enroll if you are enrolled in the Harvard Pilgrim POS 3750 or POS 5500 health plans. How do I enroll Day’s partners with Key Bank to offer employees an HSA with no monthly or annual fees. To get started or learn more about setting up an account, please connect with Lauryl. How do I use my HSA Once your account is set up, you can use HSA funds in two ways. You may use your HSA debit card at the time of service, with funds automatically deducted from your account. Or you can pay out of pocket, save your detailed receipt, and withdraw the funds from your HSA later.

Location Spotlights Spotlight on Salem: Celebrating Veronica’s Skill and Teamwork As we prepared to open our new Salem store, countless hands came together to make the launch possible. This week, we’re excited to highlight someone whose readiness to step in made a tremendous difference: Veronica. Veronica came to the project already certified to operate a forklift, and she didn’t hesitate to put that skill to work. From moving fixtures and equipment to transporting boxes of supplies, she played a key role in keeping things organized, efficient, and on schedule. Her willingness to jump in, quietly, capably, and with a can-do attitude, helped ensure the Salem team had everything they needed to open the doors with confidence. What stands out most is not just Veronica’s technical skill, but her ownership mindset. She saw a need, raised her hand, and used her expertise to support her team and our shared success. It’s this spirit of collaboration and pride in our work that continues to lift Day’s Jewelers forward. Thank you, Veronica, for your hard work and for driving the momentum, literally and figuratively, behind our Salem opening. We appreciate you!
Family Recipes Stuffed Artichokes Taylor Neumann our Indeed Consultant’s Grandmother from Italy's recipe Ingredients -Artichokes (however many you want) -Italian Seasoned breadcrumbs -Garlic powder -Parmesan & Romano cheeses -Olive Oil -Chicken Stock (plenty) Instructions -Cut both sides of the artichoke so it stands up straight (leaf side facing up) -Trim the sharp leaves so they are flat -Spread the leaves apart -Trim the spikey pieces in the center of the artichoke -In a pot, put in about 1 inch of water -Steam artichokes upside down for 15 min -Take off heat once done, let cool down before stuffing them -In a bowl put the following together: 3/4 container of breadcrumbs Italian style Handful and a half parm Romano, Garlic powder (measure with your heart) & a bit of Olive oil so everything sticks, you will repeat this process as needed depending on how much you want to stuff the artichokes (the more, the better) -Once the artichokes are cooled, put them in the center of the bowl with mixture— open each leaf, and fill -Be sure to tap the artichoke a few times to ensure the filling is getting to the bottom. -Place breadcrumbs in the center and over top, and pat down -Once artichokes are stuffed put them in big deep pan fill about an inch with chicken broth on stone top or in the oven -Put some olive oil on top of the artichokes and ensure you baste the artichokes with the chicken stock periodically -You will know these are done if you can pull a leaf around the edges off easily -Once they are just about done, cover so they steam for a bit, then take the cover off so they get crispy on top ENJOY!!

HolidayTrivia The average American spends over three hours wrapping gifts each holiday season, which adds up to nearly two full days of gift wrapping over a lifetime. More than 28 billion feet of holiday lights are sold in the United States each year, enough to circle the Earth more than 200 times. Americans consume approximately 20 million pounds of turkey between Thanksgiving and Christmas alone. Holiday music starts earlier every year, with streaming data showing Christmas songs appearing on playlists as early as October and peaking in mid December. More than 60 percent of people say they enjoy giving gifts more than receiving them, especially when the gift feels personal or meaningful. The tradition of hanging stockings dates back over 1,000 years and was inspired by stories of generosity and unexpected giving. The average home uses about 30 percent more electricity in December, largely due to lighting, decorations, and gatherings. Small gestures matter during the holidays, with studies showing handwritten notes and thoughtful messages are remembered longer than the gift itself. The week before Christmas is one of the most emotionally charged times of the year, with higher levels of both joy and nostalgia reported than any other time.
