Celebrating Innovation and Expertise: A New York Journey

Honored at the GEM Awards

Our team recently had the distinct honor of attending the annual GEM Awards in New York, where we were nominated for the prestigious Retail Innovation award. While we didn't take home the win this year, the nomination itself is a testament to our commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining the retail experience. It was a truly inspiring evening, celebrating the best and brightest in the jewelry industry.

We were proud to represent our company among such esteemed peers The atmosphere was electric, filled with industry leaders and innovators, all dedicated to the advancement of the jewelry sector. This recognition fuels our passion to continue innovating and delivering exceptional experiences to our customers.

Fun Fact: The Day’s team at our table represented an incredible 184 years of combined tenure and experience When we include Liz and Holden, who joined the evening with our partners at Synchrony, that number rises to an impressive 198 years. Truly a testament to the passion, dedication, and legacy behind Day’s Jewelers…wow!

Visit with Schamroth

Beyond the glamour of the GEM Awards, our team had the privilege of spending time with Schamroth, one of our most trusted, longstanding partners and a respected leader in the natural diamond industry. This visit offered a rare, behind-the-scenes look into the expertise, precision, and legacy that define their work

Schamroth has operated out of the same New York building since 1939, a testament to both their heritage and enduring reputation. Walking through their space, you can feel the history, craftsmanship, and consistency that have made them such a valued partner to Day’s over the years.

During our visit, we were given an exclusive look at their quality control process, which is incredibly detailed and exacting Every diamond is carefully evaluated to ensure it meets the highest standards, reinforcing the level of trust and integrity behind the pieces we bring into our stores. One of the most memorable moments was the opportunity to handle a substantial parcel of natural rough diamonds. Experiencing their raw, untouched beauty firsthand offered a powerful reminder of the journey each stone takes before becoming a finished piece of jewelry It deepened our appreciation for the natural origin, individuality, and inherent value of every diamond.

We were also shown a natural vivid orange diamond, an exceptionally rare and striking stone. Seeing such a unique color in person was a highlight, showcasing the extraordinary spectrum and rarity found within natural diamonds

Overall, this visit not only deepened our understanding of natural diamonds from source to finished product, but also reinforced our commitment to working with partners who share our values, quality, authenticity, and excellence. Experiences like this allow us to continue bringing the very best to our clients, with confidence and pride

My favorite hobby is machine embroidery. My mother taught me how to sew when I was in high school and I have always loved creating specialty one-of-a-kind items, so getting an embroidery machine was the obvious next step I primarily do baby and wedding gifts (birth stat bunnies and burp cloths, monogrammed towels and toilet paper). I make a lot of personalized zippered pouches (and once did fundraiser where I made 200 of them to raise $2000 for Planned Parenthood!) I also embroidered the names of breast cancer survivors on the back of my tank top for the Tri for a Cure

My favorite orders are when people give me loose parameters (color suggestions or themes) and let me do whatever I want I have embroidered basketballs, baseballs, one football (very difficult but satisfying!) and have stitched winter hats for the Lisbon High softball team. It's a fun hobby!

A few members of our Day’s team recently took the plunge—literally—in support of the Alfond Youth and Community Center. Braving the cold waters, they participated in the Polar Plunge helping to raise awareness and funds for programs that benefit local youth and families We’re proud of their enthusiasm and willingness to step outside their comfort zones [literally] for such a meaningful cause. Their participation reflects the spirit of camaraderie and community support that we value every day
