Silverdale Baptist Academy (SBA) is a comprehensive Pre K–12 private Christian academy, consisting of a K–12 and preschool grade-level configuration. SBA is accredited by Cognia and ACSI, both of which are dedicated to advancing excellence in education worldwide. In addition to its strong academic foundation, SBA offers a variety of specialized programs, including a Writing Center, Learning Lab, STEAM labs, Culinary Arts Lab, and Outdoor Education, providing students with unique opportunities to explore, create, and grow beyond the traditional classroom.

Located in one of Tennessee’s fastest-growing areas, Chattanooga enjoys a diversified economic base. SBA serves the educational needs of the more than 500,000 in the metropolitan area. The student body has a cultural diversity consistent with the area population that is 84.9% Caucasian, 3.05% African American, 2.4% Bi-racial, 2.0% Asian, 0.07% Hispanic, .0.02% Native American, and 7.6% other.

The academic program is organized on a modified block schedule. SBA offers a STEAM, Arts program, Academic Support, and Ministry paths to prepare students for careers in these areas. SBA also has an Outdoor Education program with electives, J-Term courses, experiential learning trips, and service/mission team opportunities. Students have the opportunity to receive over 40 college credit hours through the AP & Dual Enrollment classes.

AP Courses: Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, European History, Government, Psychology, and U.S. History are offered with criteria in place for enrollment. AP scoring success showed 100% of our students scored 3 or higher on exams and received college credit.

Dual Enrollment: SBA partners with Lee University to provide Dual Enrollment classes in English College Writing and Rhetoric and Research. SBA partners with Chattanooga State Community College to provide Dual Enrollment Precalculus 1 & 2, Statistics, and Spanish 1 & 2.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Before high school graduation, students will complete the specified credits with satisfactory records of attendance/conduct, and take the ACT or SAT. Students will complete 29 credits in one of the following academic paths: College Prep, STEAM, Fine Arts, Ministry, or Academic Support.
