What’s Inside

Strengthening Our Foundation: A Message from the Board Chair

Dear Members,

As we look across our club today, the energy is unmistakable. Whether it’s the increased activity in the club, the vibrant turnout at our recent social events, or the steady progress of our facility upgrades, we have much to celebrate. Together, we have successfully begun the work of rebuilding our community, and that momentum is a testament to your continued commitment.

Celebrating Our Progress

We have reached several key milestones this year that have laid the groundwork for a stronger future. From improved F&B offering to a generally all-around cleaner club, we are seeing the tangible results of our collective efforts. These aren't just one-off wins; they are the building blocks of the club we all want to enjoy for years to come.

Sustaining Our Future

To ensure this momentum continues, we must

now look toward the horizon. Building a healthy, resilient club requires more than just maintaining the status quo; it requires a proactive approach to our long-term financial health. To that end, the Board is currently evaluating a diversified mix of capital investment strategies. Our goal is to move away from a maintenance-only mindset and toward a sustainable model that allows for:

Infrastructure Investment: Modernizing our facilities to meet the standards you expect.

Program Expansion: Enhancing the athletic and social offerings that define our culture.

Financial Resilience: Establishing a robust reserve to protect against future challenges.

Looking Ahead

At the June 30th annual meeting we will share more details on these strategies. We invite you to attend and to share feedback. We believe that by balancing member dues with new, creative investment streams, we can protect the heritage of our club while ensuring it thrives for the next generation of members.

Thank you for being the heart of this club. Our best days are ahead of us because of the foundation we are building today.

Greetings Spokane Club Members

Welcome to warm weather season and fantastic dining on the 1910 Terrace. If you were at the Club for Bloomsday, we really lucked out with great weather and, as always, a spectacular view of the race. Hotel was sold out and breakfast/brunch and bar were all hopping. Special thanks to Chef Eric and the 1910 team for the delicious food and awesome service.

It was a busy weekend with the Bloomsday Expo and Spokane Club Open House on Saturday. Thirteen new members signed up as a result of this effort. Thanks Rose and Raechel for the planning and tours. Plus, a big assist from Marketing for covering the tradeshow and producing collateral and advertising.

The 1910 Terrace is looking great due to thorough cleaning and resealing of the deck. The new umbrellas look sharp and careful storage of all the furniture means the chairs and tables are in great shape. We have to plan ahead and work hard to take care of all our Club assets. Treat yourself to Happy Hour and the tasty Lounge menu.

Taking full advantage of the favorable weather, coming up in a few weeks is the Velvet Rabbit Summer Solstice party on the 1910 Terrace. This is the spring edition of our series launched last year for Millennial and Gen Z Club Members. Featuring a DJ and special guest bartender, it will be fun…but only if you make the age cutoff.

On the Athletic side, we are very happy to welcome Patrick Bryant as the new Athletic Operations Director. He is quickly making a big impact and bringing new ideas and plans for an elevated fitness experience. One big impact is promoting Monica Moench to full-time manager of Personal Training and Group Fitness. Monica is working diligently to optimize the Group Fitness class schedule to meet the wide-ranging expectations of our members. Please congratulate both of them.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that the Riverside Deli will soon be rebranded as Thomas Hammer. Look for a grand launch event this summer.

See you soon on the 1910 Terrace or Pool Patio. Enjoy the sunshine.

A Blended View: Making the Most of Financial Success with Private Banking

For many successful professionals, separating business and personal finances isn’t always practical — or beneficial. Income, assets, investments, and long‐term goals are often closely connected. Taking a blended view of these priorities helps ensure financial decisions are aligned, intentional, and working toward the same objectives.

As financial success brings increased complexity, expert banking guidance becomes essential. Private banking offers a high‐touch, relationship‐based approach that integrates customized lending, cash management, and

coordinated wealth planning. Delivered with strong local expertise and personal access, private banking is designed to help clients navigate sophisticated financial decisions with clarity and confidence.

By taking a blended view of personal and professional finances, strategies become more intentional and outcomes more practical. Lending solutions, commercial real estate, practice acquisitions, mergers, and liquidity planning can all be structured in a way that considers the full financial picture — often with fewer layers of bureaucracy, faster credit decisions, and greater flexibility.

Consider a successful pediatrician who owns a growing practice while also maintaining a substantial personal investment portfolio. On the professional side, the practice is preparing to expand by adding exam rooms, enhancing inoffice diagnostic capabilities, and potentially bringing on an additional provider. Simultaneously, the physician is focused on personal goals such as real estate investing, taxefficient wealth transfer, and maintaining liquidity for future opportunities.

Through private banking, these priorities are addressed with a single, coordinated strategy. A dedicated private banker develops a comprehensive understanding of the pediatrician’s practice operations, personal cash flow, and long-term objectives. Customized credit solutions allow the practice to fund expansion without requiring the liquidation of personal investments, while integrated cash-management services keep both business and household finances efficient and accessible. The result is alignment — where growth on the professional side reinforces personal wealth, rather than competing with it.

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Ultimately, it is a consultative mindset that unlocks the full value of private banking. When a private banker understands not only a client’s finances, but also the local market, regional industries, and community dynamics—and collaborates closely with attorneys, CPAs, and wealth advisors — the outcome is a level of coordination that benefits clients both professionally and personally. When your hard work has led to success, consider taking the next step of growth with private banking to ensure your professional and personal finances are optimized.

Membership Message

Our Annual Open House was a tremendous success this year, marking one of our strongest turnouts in recent memory. We were especially pleased to welcome 13 new members who joined the Club as a result of the event. Attendance exceeded recent years, and many guests chose to stay and enjoy lunch in the restaurant, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere that truly showcased the Club experience at its best.

As we move into the summer season, there is no better time to share what makes our Club so special. Summer is quickly approaching, and now is the perfect opportunity to introduce your friends and colleagues to membership. Beginning Memorial Day and running through Labor Day, we will launch our “Bring a Friend” campaign. This initiative is designed to make it easier than ever for members to share their Club experience. Each member may request up to five complimentary one-day guest passes for prospective members. These passes can be obtained through the website or by contacting the Membership Office directly.

Our staff would be happy to provide a tour of the Club and answer any questions your guest

may have. To ensure we can provide the best possible experience, tours should be arranged in advance. Of course, if you prefer to personally show them around, we fully support that as well. Either way, we are here to help make their visit enjoyable and informative.

We are also excited to share special incentives for referrals during this campaign:

Current members who refer a guest who joins the Club will receive one month of free dues, a $100 dining credit, and complimentary parking through October 1st.

New members who join through a referral will receive 50% off their first two months of dues, along with complimentary parking through October 1st and free locker rental through the end of the year.

We are excited for the summer ahead and look forward to welcoming your guests as they experience everything the Club has to offer.

Thank you for your continued membership and for helping us grow our community in such a meaningful way.

A Word from Athletics

Dear Spokane Club Members,

My Name is Patrick Bryant, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Athletic Operations Director here at the Spokane Club. It’s an honor to engage with all of you at such a historic cornerstone of Spokane and supporting the long-standing traditions on the Athletics side of the club.

I have been involved in sports, fitness, coaching and athletics administration for the past 15 years and I hope you will see my contributions right away around the club with my passion for what I do and my love for working with people. I spent the last 11 years with the YMCA operating athletic facilities and sports across the region before joining the Spokane Club and continuing my passion under a new challenge. I also have a long history that involves working in college athletics, Special Olympics and a high school baseball/football coach for many years. My Wife and I are WSU graduates, GO COUGS! We love Spokane and the Inland NW. If I’m not at

the club, I am somewhere exploring the great Inland NW outdoors or coaching one of my kid’s sports teams.

I am committed to achieving the best facilities and member experience you can find. This starts with my focus on quality, cleanliness and safety in operations at the Spokane Club. It’s very important to me that your experience with us is excellent and our facilities should reflect that.

The planning is well under way with our athletics teams as we prepare for the summer months and ensure opportunities for everyone to feel value in a Spokane Club membership. We are working on improving upcoming programs and starting the process of developing new initiates to engage your interests as a member in Athletics.

Summer camp is right around the corner, and our childcare department is expanding age groups this year to accommodate more requests as we keep kids busy and safe for you. We are also expanding our preschool programming options in the fall to continue to provide a safe and educational experience in childcare at the club.

Our fitness floor and conditioning room continues to be a cornerstone of the club. Join me in welcoming our new full-time fitness manager, Monica Moench to her role in planning all things fitness for members. Many of you know her already as the Group Fitness Lead, as she is getting ready to take the next step in her career at the club. We are looking to consistently provide a clean and organized fitness floor, rotation of new classes in group Fitness to keep you moving and a top-notch personal training team ready to meet your fitness goals.

Our Aquatics space is focusing on cleanliness, lap swim access, family swim, and lessons, which will continue to strengthen a variety of options to use the pool. We also have great programs like the swim team and water exercise to take full advantage of the pool as part of your membership.

Of course, there are so many more things to do and take advantage of and we hope you find a way to be active at the club this summer.

Please feel free to stop by and say hello on the 4 floor of the Athletics building anytime, I’d love to hear about being a member, how we can improve and what makes the history here so great. th

Aquatics at the Club

Summer is approaching fast and there is no place better to beat the heat than in the pool! As we look ahead to another exciting season at the club, I want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our aquatics community. The pool continues to be one of the most active and enjoyable gathering places at the club, and we are grateful for the enthusiasm and support of our members and families. This season, we are excited to offer a full schedule of programming, including swim lessons, Penguin Swim Team, Spokane Club Aquatics Team, water fitness classes, lap swimming, Masters Swim Team, and recreational swim opportunities. Our team is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for members of all ages and abilities.

The Spokane Club Aquatics Team has had a great year! We have kicked off the long course season in May and are looking forward to improving all season and competing in the Inland Empire Championships in Pasco the last weekend of July! A special congratulations to

Lauren Brazil and Analie Watson who will be competing in Western Zones Age Group Championships in Boise, ID in the beginning of August.

The Penguin Swim Team has been doing great! The Penguin Swim Team is a fun and welcoming recreational swim program for kids of all skill levels. Designed to build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the water, the team offers young swimmers the opportunity to improve their technique, stay active, and make lasting friendships in a supportive club environment. Whether your child is new to swimming or looking to continue developing their skills, the Penguins provide a positive and energetic experience all summer long. On June 25th, both of our swim teams will have our annual Parents vs. Kids swim meet.

MESSAGE FROM THE AQUATICS MANAGER

To help ensure the best experience for everyone, we kindly ask members to review and follow all posted pool rules and club policies, including not double booking lanes under our reservation system. These guidelines help us maintain safety standards, protect the quality of our facilities, and create a positive atmosphere for all guests.

We are also proud of the outstanding lifeguards, instructors, and staff who work hard each day to make the aquatics program successful. Please join me in thanking them for their professionalism, energy, and dedication throughout the season.

We look forward to seeing you poolside and making many great memories together. If you

have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to the aquatics team.

Thank you again for your continued support of the club and our aquatics program.

Meet Jenny Headley, Personal Trainer at the Club! "The world of “health and fitness” has become an extremely complicated space full of contradictions and bad information. We could all eat the same exact diet and follow the same workout routine and still look completely different. I want to help my clients achieve a sustainable relationship with movement. Working smarter, not harder. Let’s make the weight room less intimidating. Let’s find out what kind of movement you actually like and get you on a plan that that is enjoyable enough you will want to continue for the long haul. Life is going to happen, you will inevitably miss a week or two. If you enjoy what you do, you will get right back to it.”

Spokane Club's Second Home

Excerpt from Living History with a Living Legend By

As Spokane grew, (the “Falls” was dropped from the town’s name in 1891), membership to the Spokane Club grew with it and soon the need for larger quarters became a pressing concern. Undertaking this next phase of growth became the mission of F. Lewis Clark, the club’s second president who served from September 1890 to February 1891. Clark was a multimillionaire who made his fortune in the leading industries of his day: mining, milling, real estate, lumber, and banking. Not coincidentally, these were the leading industries in Spokane at the time. Clark, like many of his contemporaries, amassed, and later lost, great wealth with the rise and decline of these industries.

A native of Maine and educated at Harvard, Clark was a devoted yachtsman, the Commodore of the New York Yacht Club and one of the founders of the America’s Cup race. Clark came west in his 20s and founded C&O Mill and Elevator, the largest flour mill in the Pacific
