Father, In Thy Gracious Keeping Leave We Now Thy Servant Sleeping
“Let love and faithfulness not depart from you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man.”
Proverbs 3:3-4 (NIV)
Pamela Claudine Gibson, affectionately known as “Pam” was born to Wilton and Cora Gibson, both of whom predeceased her. She was the third child in a family of six children. Pam enjoyed a happy childhood anchored by a closeness with her nuclear family. In her youth she was outspoken and was a leader who was particularly protective of her younger siblings. As she became older, she became less outspoken and more reflective, but the truth of her presence remains in those who were touched by her quiet dignity, her fierce loyalty, and the gentle gravity that steadied every room she entered. She moved through the world with warmth in her hands and a tenderness in her voice, never loud or flashy, but always deeply human. In her, the ordinary moments turned luminous because she chose to show up with care, with steadiness, and with an open heart.
She lived a life of quiet dignity, placing others before herself in ways that felt almost instinctual. If she believed in something; a person, a cause, a promise; she stood by it with a calm, unwavering resolve. She never sought the spotlight; she sought
connection. She believed in the dignity of every person she met and treated each moment as a chance to lift someone else up. This was not grand heroism in the public sense, but a daily, stubborn commitment to be present, to listen, to hold space, and to act with integrity.
The backbone of her life was her care for family. Her love was fierce and protective, not loud but brilliantly steadfast. Pam showed extreme love and commitment to her late parents, being present in their lives and caring for them as they aged. She tended to them with patient, unwavering devotion, turning small acts into a testament of love: ensuring that they took their medication as prescribed, ensuring that meals were prepared on time, facilitating medical appointments or simply providing a hand to hold when the world felt uncertain. Her dedication to their care and wellbeing is remembered with great gratitude by all who knew her actions.
She also loved her nieces and nephews with a generosity that felt ancient and enduring, offering silent support, a listening ear, and a cheer from the wings long before anyone asked for it. Pam attended every graduation, wedding or significant event that she could. She was a quiet champion who noticed people first—the ones who were overlooked, the ones who needed a steady hand—and she didn’t hesitate to extend a hand, a word of encouragement, or a comforting presence. She did this all while carrying a disposition that could lift the heaviest load with a happy-go-lucky spirit that made stress seem lighter, even when the world pressed in.
Pam loved her family deeply, with an acceptance that embraced their flaws as part of the imperfect but meaningful tapestry of life. She welcomed them with warmth, forgiveness, and a readiness to see the best in them, even when they struggled to see it themselves. In a world that can feel unforgiving, she offered a model of relationship built on patience, grace, and unspoken loyalty - the kind that says, “You belong here, with me.” Pam was well liked by many, friends, colleagues, neighbours, and
family because she offered friendship without conditions, a dependable presence, and a heart that reminded people that they were worthy of care.
Her faith and church were not performances but a lived practice. She stood with its missions, supported its youth movements in earlier years, and believed in a future made better by people who cared enough to try. To this end, Pam was instrumental in the early days of St. Gregory’s Church serving as a Sunday School Teacher and a founder/leader of its Christian Youth Movement. She wasn’t merely a member; she was a participant, a builder, and a friend to many in the congregation and beyond. Pam also served the church as a member of the Usher Board.
Professionally, Pam’s life was defined by integrity, competence, and a commitment to the common good. Her journey began after her family returned to the Bahamas in 1973, when she began work at Barclays Bank. She spent two years there before accepting a position at the Central Bank, where she finished her career as Deputy Manager in the IT Department. She earned trust through consistent, thoughtful work and a strong sense of responsibility.
Her work ethic was matched by a heart for service. She joined the Kiwanis Club of Ft. Montagu in 1997 not for applause, but to lift others up, especially children and families who needed a little extra encouragement and guidance. She became the third female President in the club’s history and was recognised as a “Distinguished President” for her leadership and accomplishments. She led with humility, mentoring and nurturing others, always believing in the power of service to
make the world kinder. Pam’s presidency wore no crown of vanity; it was a quiet badge of stewardship.
Pam, upon retirement from the Central Bank took on the management of the Shell Prince Charles Gas Station after the death of her father, with the same steady hand and dependable heart she offered at home. It was never just about business; it was about people and community. In 2019, she earned the Shell Country Retailer of the Year Award for The Bahamas, for the performance of her station. This was an honour that she cherished.
Pam’s life was measured not by titles or trophies, but by the tenderness she offered and the courage with which she defended those she loved. Her legacy is one loyalty, kindness, and countless quiet acts that bound people together. Her memory continues to ripple through the lives she touched, a soft and enduring echo of a life well lived.
May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forward her example of quiet dignity, generosity, fierce loyalty, and enduring humanity. Rest in peace dearest, Pam.

AT THE RECEPTION OF THE BODY | Officiated by The Reverend Dr. Kari Marcelle
Celebrant: With faith in Jesus Christ, we receive the body of our sister Pamela Claudine for burial. Our sister was washed in Holy Baptism and anointed with the Holy spirit. Let us therefore, with confidence, pray to God our Heavenly Father, the giver of life, that He will raise her to perfection in the company of the Saints.
All: Amen.
Celebrant: Praise be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all consolation! He comforts us in our afflictions and thus enables us to comfort those who are in trouble, with the same consolation we have received from Him.
All: Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Celebrant: I bless the body of Pamela Claudine with the holy water that recalls her baptism of which St. Paul writes: All of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death. By baptism into his death, we were buried together with Him, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live a new life. For if we have been united with Him by likeness to His death, so shall we be united with Him by likeness to His resurrection.
All: Amen.
PRAYER
Celebrant: O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister Pamela Claudine. We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
THE PROCESSION TO THE SANCTUARY BEGINS
(The Priests and Clerks go before the Corpse up the isle and say):
Jesus said, I am the resurrection, and I am the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. John 11:25-26
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His compassion never fails: every morning they are renewed. Lamentations 3:22-23
Jesus said, let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1
I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord: so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. Romans 14:8-9.
We brought nothing into this world, and we take nothing out. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away: Blessed be the Name of the Lord. Job 1:21.
The eternal God is our refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. Deuteronomy 33:27.
THE PLACING OF THE PALL
(The pall is now spread on the casket, as a reminder of her baptism and in hope of the resurrection.)
Celebrant: On the day of her baptism, Pamela Claudine put on Christ; on the day of Christ’s coming, may she be clothed in glory. In the day of Christ’s coming, may she be clothed with glory. All: Amen.
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And also, with you.
Celebrant: Let us pray:
Officiant: Lord hear our prayers and be merciful to Your handmaiden/servant, Pamela Claudine whom you have called from her life. Welcome her into the company of your saints, in the kingdom of light and peace. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.

THE LITURGY OF THE WORD
FIRST LESSON
Reader: A reading from the Word of God written in the book of Wisdom Chapter 3 verses 1 through 5 and 9.
But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of others they were punished, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the
furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble. They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them forever. Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones, and he watches over his elect.
Reader: The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.
HYMN | Take My Life And Let It Be
1. Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee. Take my moments and my days; let them flow in endless praise, let them flow in endless praise.
2. Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of thy love. Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for thee, swift and beautiful for thee.
3. Take my voice and let me sing always, only, for my King. Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from thee, filled with messages from thee.
4. Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold. Take my intellect and use every power as thou shalt choose, every power as thou shalt choose.
5. Take my will and make it thine; it shall be no longer mine. Take my heart it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne, it shall be thy royal throne.
6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure store. Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee, ever, only, all for thee.
NEW TESTAMENT LESSON
Reader: A reading from the Word of God written in the second letter of Paul to the Corinthians Chapter 4 verse 16 to Chapter 5 verse 9 (NRSV).
Read by: Dr. Larry Gibson II. (Nephew)
So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands,
eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling - if indeed, when we have taken it off we will not be found naked. For while we are still in this tent, we groan under our burden, because we wish not to be unclothed but to be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always confident; even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord - for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we do have confidence, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.
Reader: The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.
GRADUAL HYMN | Great Is Thy Faithfulness
1. Great is thy faithfulness, O God, my Father; There is no shadow of turning with thee. Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not; As thou hast been, thou forever wilt be. [Refrain]

Priest: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. John the fourteenth chapter, verses one through six (NRSV).
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwellingplaces. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.’ Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Priest: This is the gospel of Christ. All: Praise to Christ our Lord.
1. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name. [Refrain]
Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand: all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand.
2. When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace; in every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]
HOMILY
3. His oath, his covenant, his blood, support me in the whelming flood; when all around my soul gives way, he then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]
4. When he shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in him be found: dressed in his righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]
The Reverend Canon Atma Budhu, Rector, Church of The Epiphany
THE CREED
Celebrant: Let us with confidence and hope confess the faith into which we were baptized, as we say. All: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

PREPARATION HYMN | Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
1. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee. Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
2. Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea. Cherubim and seraphim, falling down before thee, Who was and is and evermore shall be.
PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS
Celebrant: Father,
3. Holy, Holy, Holy! though the darkness hide thee, Though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see, Only thou art holy; there is none beside thee, Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.
4. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessed Trinity.
All: We offer to you these gifts which you have given us; this bread, this wine, this money. With them we offer ourselves, our lives, and our work to become through your Holy Spirit a reasonable, Holy and lively sacrifice. As this bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ, so may we and all your people become channels of your love through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
THE
EUCHARISTIC
PRAYER
Celebrant: The Lord be with you.
All: And also, with you.
Celebrant: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them up to the Lord.
Celebrant: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It is right to give God thanks and praise.
Celebrant: It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Father Almighty, Everlasting God: Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who rose victorious from the dead, and comforts us with the blessed hope of everlasting life. For to your faithful people, O Lord, life is changed, not ended; and when our mortal body lies in death, there is prepared for us a dwelling place eternal in the heavens.
Therefore, we praise you, joining our voices with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven, who forever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name:
All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might; heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Celebrant: All Holy and glorious Father, our Creator God, we give you thanks because in your loving wisdom you brought all things into being and are truly worthy of praise from every creature you have made. Again and again, we have turned away from you; yet in every age your steadfast love has called us to return, to live in union with you: for it is your eternal purpose to put new life into all things and make them holy.
Through your Son, Jesus Christ who took our human nature upon Him you have redeemed the world from the bondage of sin: and by the power of your Holy Spirit, you have gathered a people to yourself, to make known in every place His perfect offering which He made to the glory of your Name.
Hear us, therefore, Father, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord; And grant that these gifts of bread and wine may be unto us His Body and Blood. For, on the night He was betrayed He took bread, and when He had given thanks to you, He broke it and gave it to His disciples and said: “Take this and eat it: This is my Body which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
And after supper He took the cup of wine: and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them and said: “Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.”
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith.
All: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.
Celebrant: And so, Heavenly Father, rejoicing in His Holy Incarnation; His Blessed Passion and His Perfect Sacrifice made once for all upon the Cross; His Mighty Resurrection from the dead; His Glorious Ascension into heaven; and looking for His Coming in glory; we offer to you this Bread and this Cup. We pray that you will accept this sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; and grant that all who eat and drink of the Body and Blood, of your Son, our great High Priest, may be renewed by your Holy Spirit, and be one Body, one Spirit, in Him.
Let faith and love increase in us. Unite us with all Bishops, all other ministers of your Word and Sacraments, and with the whole people of God, living and departed, whom you have made for yourself. Confirm us in holiness, that we may be found ready to join the company of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy Apostles, and all your saints, when our Lord Jesus Christ comes again: Forever giving you thanks and praise through Him from whom all good things do come.
With Him and in Him and through Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship you, Father Almighty, with all who stand before you in earth and heaven, in songs of everlasting praise: All: Blessing and honour and glory and power be yours for ever and ever. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Celebrant: As our Saviour has taught us, so we pray:
All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name; your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD
Celebrant: We break this bread to share in the body of Christ.
All: Though we are many, we are one body, because we all share in one bread.
INVITATION TO COMMUNION
President: My brothers and sisters in Christ, draw near and receive His Body which he gave for you, and his Blood, which He shed for you. Remember that He died for you, and feed on Him in your hearts by faith with thanksgiving.
All: Grant Gracious Lord, that we may so eat the flesh of your dear Son Jesus Christ and drink His Blood that we may evermore dwell in Him and He in us. Amen.

Grant that this Sacrament may be unto us a comfort in affliction, and a pledge of our inheritance in that kingdom where there is no death, neither sorrow, nor crying, but the fullness of joy with all your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
THANKSGIVING HYMN | For All The Saints Who From Their Labors Rest
1. For all the saints who from their labors rest, who Thee by faith before the world confessed; Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia, Alleluia!
2. Thou wast their Rock, their Fortress and their Might; Thou, Lord, their Captain in the well-fought fight; Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true Light. Alleluia, Alleluia!
3. O blest communion, fellowship divine! We feebly struggle, they in glory shine; yet all are one in Thee, for all are Thine. Alleluia, Alleluia!
THE COMMENDATION
4. And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long, steals on the ear the distant triumph song, and hearts are brave again, and arms are strong. Alleluia, Alleluia!
5. But then there breaks a still more glorious day: the saints triumphant rise in bright array; the King of glory passes on His way. Alleluia, Alleluia!
6. From earth’s wide bounds, from ocean’s farthest coast, through gates of pearl streams in the countless host, in praise of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia, Alleluia
Celebrant: Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints.
All: Where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.
Celebrant: You only are immortal, the creator and maker of mankind; and we are mortal, formed of the earth, and to the earth shall we return. For so did you ordain when you created me, saying, “You are dust, and to dust shall you return.” All of us go down to the dust; yet even at the grave we make our song: Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
All: Give rest, O Christ to your servant with your saints, where sorrows and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.
Celebrant: Lord, have mercy....
All: Christ, have mercy..... Lord, have mercy…
Celebrant: Our Father,
All: Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come; thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us.
Celebrant: And lead us not into temptation.
All: But deliver us from evil.
Celebrant: From the gate of hell
All: Deliver his soul, O Lord.
Celebrant: May she rest in peace.
All: Amen.
Celebrant: O Lord, hear my prayer.
All: And let our cry come unto thee.
Celebrant: The Lord be with you.
All: And also, with you.
PRAYER
(The president facing the body says:)
President: Let us commend our sister Pamela Claudine to the mercy of God our Maker and Redeemer. Deliver your servant, Pamela Claudine. O Sovereign Lord Christ, from all evil, and set her free from every bond, that she may rest with all your saints in the eternal habitations; where with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, one God for ever and ever..
All: Amen.
Minister: Let us go forth in the name of Christ
All: Thanks be to God.
(As the body is borne from the church, a hymn, or one or more of these may be sung or said.)
Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and giving life to those in the tomb.
The Sun of Righteousness is gloriously risen, giving light to those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death.
The Lord will guide our feet into the way of peace, having taken away the sin of the world.
Christ will open the kingdom of heaven to all who believe in His Name, saying, Come, O blessed of my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you.
Into paradise may the angels lead you. At your coming may the Martyrs receive you, and bring you into the Holy city, Jerusalem.
Celebrant: Let us pray: Into your hands, O merciful Saviour, we commend your servant Pamela Claudine. Acknowledge, we humbly ask you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of your mercy, in the blessed rest of eternal peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light where to live and reign with you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in glory everlasting
All: Amen.
Celebrant: Rest eternal grant unto her O Lord.
All: And let light perpetual shine upon her.
Celebrant: May she rest in peace.
All: Amen.
Celebrant: May her soul and the souls of all the faithful through the mercy of God rest in peace.
All: Amen.
RECESSIONAL HYMN | Thine Be The Glory
1. Thine be the glory, risen, conqu’ring Son; endless is the vict’ry Thou o’er death hast won. Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away, kept the folded grave-clothes where Thy body lay. [Refrain]
Refrain:
Thine be the glory, risen, conqu’ring Son; endless is the vict’ry Thou o’er death hast won.
2. Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb. Lovingly He greets us, scatters fear and gloom; let His church with gladness hymns of triumph sing, for the Lord now liveth; death hath lost its sting. [Refrain]
3. No more we doubt Thee, glorious Prince of life!! Life is nought without Thee; aid us in our strife; make us more than conqu’rors, through Thy deathless love; bring us safe through Jordan to Thy home above. [Refrain]
The Committal
Everyone the father gives to me will come to me; I will never turn away anyone who believes in me.
He who raised Jesus Christ from the dead will also give new life to our mortal bodies through His indwelling Spirit.
My heart, therefore, is glad, and my spirit rejoices; my body also shall rest in hope.
You will show me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy, and in your right hand are pleasures for evermore.
I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write this: “Happy are the dead who die in the faith of Christ! Henceforth,” says the Spirit, “they may rest from their labours; for they take with them the record of their deeds.”
Man born of a woman has but a short time to live. Like a flower he blossoms and then withers; like a shadow he flees and never stays.
In the midst of life, we are in death; to whom can we turn for help, but to you, Lord, who are justly angered by our sins?
Lord God, holy and mighty, holy and immortal, holy and most merciful Saviour, deliver us from the bitter pains of eternal death. You know the secrets of our hearts: In your mercy hear our prayer, forgive us our sins, and at our last hour let us not fall away from you.
(Then, while earth is cast upon the coffin, the minister says these words:)
Minister: In sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ, we commend to Almighty God our sister Pamela Claudine and we commit her body to the ground; earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust. And we beseech you in your infinite goodness to give us grace to live in your dear love and to die in your favour that when your well-beloved Son shall come again in judgement both this our sister Pamela Claudine and we ourselves may be found acceptable in your sight. Grant this for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
Minister: The Lord be with you.
All: And also, with you.
Minister: Let us pray.
Almighty God, with whom still live the spirits of those who die in the Lord, and with whom the souls of the faithful are in joy and felicity; we give you heartfelt thanks for the good examples of all your servants, who, having finished their course in faith, now find rest and refreshment. May we, with all who have died in the true faith of your holy Name, have perfect fulfilment and bliss in your eternal and everlasting glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Minister: Rest eternal grant to her, O Lord;
All: And let light perpetual shine upon her.
Minister: May she and all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
All: Amen.
Minister: The Lord bless her and keep her. The Lord makes His face to shine upon her and be gracious to her. The Lord lift up His countenance upon her and give her peace. Alleluia, Christ is risen.
All: The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia!
Minister: Let us go forth in the name of Christ.
All: Thanks be to God.
ITS ALRIGHT NOW
1. There was a time I traveled A lonely sinful road
Beneath a heavy burden bending low
But now all things are different
For Jesus took my load It’s alright now I’m His I know [Refrain]
Refrain:
It’s alright now, For I am in my Savior’s care
It’s alright now; My Savior hears and answers prayer
He’ll walk beside me
‘Til I climb the heav’nly stair And everything is alright now
CITY OF GOLD
1. There’s a city of light, where there cometh no night, There’s a city of beauty untold; All my treasures are there and it’s beauty I’ll share, When I get to that city of gold. [Refrain]
Refrain:
When I leave all trouble and care, I will say good morning up there; I will have great gladness untold, When I get to that city of gold.
2. A down a lonely pathway Without a friend to guide I walked in sin and sorrow all alone
‘Til Jesus came and found me And drew me to His side It’s alright now for I’m His own [Refrain]
2. There’s no sorrow up there in that city so fair And no sickness can enter I’m told Shadows all will have flown, I will meet friends I’ve known When we get to that city of gold. [Refrain]
3. Won’t you go there with me to the home of the free, Won’t you see heaven’s beauty unfold? If you will come along, we will sing heaven’s song, When we get to that city of gold. [Refrain]
AND CAN IT BE
1. And can it be that I should gain An int’rest in the Savior’s blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain? For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me?
2. ‘Tis mystery all! Th’Immortal dies! Who can explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries To sound the depths of love divine! ‘Tis mercy all! let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more.
3. He left His Father’s throne above, So free, so infinite His grace; Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam’s helpless race; ‘Tis mercy all, immense and free; For, O my God, it found out me.
4. Long my imprisoned spirit lay Fast bound in sin and nature’s night; Thine eye diffused a quick’ning ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth and followed Thee.
5. No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him is mine! Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach th’eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
NOT ONLY A SISTER...BUT ALSO A BEST FRIEND
Pam was not just a sister, but a best friend whose presence brightened every day. We spoke several times each day, starting in the mornings, during her commute to work, we would connect and tackle whatever world, family or personal topic came to mind. Those conversations were the steady rhythm of our lives—a daily ritual that kept us close no matter the distance or time. By the time she reached work...we had everything solved!
Her laughter was a beacon—warm, infectious, and always accompanied by that wonderful sense of humour that could lift the heaviest mood. She had a remarkable talent for finding the funny side of life, even in the most ordinary moments, and she relished fondly reminiscing about the stories (past and present) and events that made us laugh until we
I will remember her in the everyday moments –the chats, the jokes, the plans we made, and that quiet, steady presence that told me we had each other, no matter what. Pam was a wonderful travel companion, someone who turned every trip into a shared adventure and every destination into a memory we would treasure. Her kindness, wit, and enduring warmth touched everyone who knew her, and shall live on in the stories I share about her.
Pam, you will be missed more than words can say, but your spirit will stay with me in everything I do.
Rest in Peace dearest Pam.
Pam was my remarkable big sister, strong in her faith, loyal to her family, and tireless in her service. These values that Grumpa (Rev. Dr. P.A. Gibson), Mummy, and Daddy instilled in us shaped who she was and guided her every step, right up to the very end of her life.
Pam and I were born just 13 months apart. In those early years in Chippingham, where families were close and children moved freely from one yard to the next, we were more like twins than siblings. We grew up, side by side, sharing everything, laughter, mischief, lessons, and dreams. Our bond only deepened when we moved to West Avenue and later when Daddy took us to the UK while he pursued his accounting studies. We spent four formative years in Leeds, and those years were filled with adventure. Whether exploring historic sites in London, visiting Charlie in Perth while he studied aeronautical engineering, welcoming Joan and Camille when they visited, traveling to Barcelona to watch Bull Fights, or taking church trips to the Lake District, we experienced the world together in our youth. Those memories remain among my most treasured.
When we returned home just before Independence, we stepped into adulthood together, beginning our professional journeys in September 1973 as trainees at Barclays Bank. Though our paths eventually diverged, mine into business and hers into a distinguished career at the Central Bank, we both carried with us the same work ethic and sense of purpose.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Pam did not just attend church, she served. She mentored young people and
helped found youth groups at Holy Spirit, St. Barnabas, Christ the King, St. Agnes (our home church in Leeds), and St. Gregory the Great. Our parents were founding members of St. Gregory, and in those early days church services and Sunday School were often held in our home on West Avenue. Pam remained a steadfast and devoted Anglican all her life. Her faith was not only something she professed, but it was also something she lived.
Service was woven into our family life. Our parents were active in Kiwanis, and Pam carried that legacy forward with commitment and heart. Her leadership as Distinguished President of the Kiwanis Club of Fort Montague reflected the values with which we were raised. She especially enjoyed attending conventions and treasured the camaraderie and fellowship that Kiwanis brought into her life.
Pam was a steady presence for all of us, her siblings, her nieces and nephews, their children, and our extended family. When our parents began to age, Pam took their care very seriously. We all shared in supporting them, but Pam bore the greater share of the daily care. She saw it not as a burden, but as a sacred responsibility and an act of gratitude for all they had poured into us. She did so with remarkable devotion. She was attentive, protective, and deeply committed to their dignity and wellbeing. Knowing they were in her loving and capable hands brought me great peace.
Pam believed deeply that family should stand together and that we should treat one another with honesty, respect, and compassion above all else.
What I will always cherish most is the bond we shared. After our parents passed, I made it a point to stay closely connected. I would often stop by the gas station just to check on her. Those small visits meant more than she knew. We did not always agree on everything, but Pam always spoke with intention and from the heart. I depended on her, and she knew she could depend on me.
To me, more than any title or achievement, Pam was always my big sister, loving, courageous, generous, and strong.
I love you, Pam. Rest in peace.
Max
TRIBUTE TO PAM
There are not words big enough to express how greatly you will be missed. You lived with quiet strength and boundless love, offering everyday moments of care that meant the world.
You spent so much of your later adult life looking after our aging parents with tenderness and patience. Your loyalty kept us grounded. You adored your nieces and nephews, cheering their wins and celebrations as if they were your own. That love stretched to the grand-nieces and nephews too, widening your circle with every new life.
You were especially close to Charles, Dad, and Mom; their passing left a big void in your heart. Your loyalty to family was fierce. You stood by us through everything imaginable, a steady, quiet force.
Travel brought you joy—Portugal for Leighton’s wedding last May, Kiwanis conventions, and even the long trip to Australia for the Shell Retailers Convention. You came back with stories and a wider world-view... then rushed right back to work.
You were a tireless worker, in the middle of buying a condominium and finally retiring (for good)— warming to the idea of savouring life for yourself after years of dedication — preparing for the next phase of your life. However, this was not to be as God had another plan for you.
Pam, you lived without fanfare, contented with the simple things in life... but your impact was huge. May you rest in peace, surrounded by the love you gave so freely.

Tribute to Pam
“You were more than the older sister — you were a gift to all of us.”
Pam, I struggled with writing this.
The reality of what this tribute means and why it’s being written brings a sense of hopelessness that clouded my mind. The reality that our family has lost another member, we’ve lost another sibling, I’ve lost a support system is heavy and hard to formulate into words.
You were more than the older sister — you were a gift to all of us. You brought warmth into every room you entered and carried a light that made life gentler, kinder, and more beautiful. Your love was steady, your laughter comforting, and your presence something we all leaned on more than we ever realized.
Family was everything to you. It wasn’t just something you said — it was how you lived every single day. Your world revolved around the people you loved, and you gave your whole heart to keeping that world close, connected, and strong.
As a sister, you were constant. Sharing in our childhood memories, our secrets, our growing pains, and our dreams. You knew where we came from and believed where we were going. Through every
season of life, standing beside us — sometimes as our biggest cheerleader, sometimes as our voice of reason, and always as our friend.
The past few days have been almost numb, and to think that the 7am phone calls that start out with “did I wake you?” in an innocent tone that I really wanted to give you a piece of my mind but just couldn’t will be no more, brings me back to my original thought of reality setting in.
Though my heart aches, I am forever grateful for the years I was blessed to share with you. The memories I hold — the laughter, the tears, the conversations, the ordinary moments that now feel extraordinary — will remain treasures I will carry always.
Take your well-deserved rest sis, until we meet again.
Love Always Dwight
IN LOVING MEMORY OF AUNTIE PAM (PAMMIE)
Auntie Pam, affectionately called “Pammie”, you will be deeply missed.
You were never afraid to share your opinions, and your candor reminded us of the value of honesty and truth. Most of all, your wicked sense of humor brought joy and laughter into our lives, even as you held us nieces and nephews to high standards with your gentle wisdom and guiding influence.
Eva and Dylan will especially miss their summer stints at the gas station, where you were a serious task master who taught them discipline and responsibility—and in Dylan’s case, the importance of rechecking his work. Alexander will miss the free gas fill-ups, though not nearly as much as I will - a small but cherished reminder of your generosity and care. And all the children will miss your presence at lunches with their granny Joan where your laughter and stories filled the table with warmth and connection.
I will miss cooking your meals, mainly soups, to your exact specifications, little salt and no pepper, the last one you ate the day before your passing. I will miss, too, our almost daily check-ins on each other’s lives, those heartfelt conversations that meant so much and kept us close. And of course, we will all miss the way you called everyone ‘baby,’ a word that carried your warmth, affection, and unmistakable charm.
Though gone too soon, your spirit remains with us, in the lessons you taught, the laughter you shared, and the love you gave so freely. We will carry your memory in our hearts, striving always to be better for having had you in our lives.
“I am the tide that never ends, The horizon where the sky and sea blend. I am the waves that kiss the shore, A presence with you forevermore.”
(Author Unknown)
Forever loved, never forgotten.

IN LOVING MEMORY
OF AUNTIE PAM
Auntie Pam was love in its purest form. She cared deeply, not just in words, but in action. She showed her love by being present, by listening, by checking in, and by making sure you knew you mattered. If you needed her, she was there. No hesitation. No excuses. Just love.
If you invited Auntie Pam, she was already on her way. Some might think she was the life of the party because she was always there. But the truth is, she was not showing up for attention, she was showing up for us. Being present was not about being seen; it was about making sure the people she loved felt seen. That was Auntie Pam. Family was not just important to her, it was everything.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the love she poured into our lives. That love does not leave us. It lives on in the way we care for one another, in the way we show up, and in the way we love boldly — just like she did.
Rest peacefully, Auntie Pam. Thank you for loving us like your own. You will always be with us.
Love, Zoe and Demetra
TRIBUTE TO AUNT PAM
Aunt Pam was my steady rock and safe place. We had each other’s backs, a mutual security that meant we never walked alone through tough days.
I lived with Aunt Pam, learned from her, and grew because she was always there—quietly supporting me, never judging, always encouraging me to be my best self. Aunt Pam’s tremendous work ethic showed in the early mornings and late nights she kept—she gave her all, quietly, and persistently.
She was accountable...when she said she would do something, she would follow through; even though you might have to remind her sometimes, she kept her promises. We shared a core value of privacy, respecting unwritten boundaries.
After her last trip to the doctors, there was a noticeable decline in her health and she tired more easily. I was the last person Aunt Pam spoke to, and memories of her last moments remain with me. I am grateful for the lessons she taught me and the acts of care she embodied. I will honour Aunt Pam by staying steady, by continuing to support others without judgment, and by showing up and helping others, when I can.
Thank you, Aunt Pam, for everything. You will be missed beyond words, and your light will travel with me always.
In every small act of care, in every quiet moment of strength, her spirit remains with us.
Until we meet again,
TO MY AUNTIE
I will always remember Aunt Pam as someone who was kind, loving and full of joy. She will be missed! Laylah
TO AUNTIE PAM
I can’t believe you’re gone. I just spoke to you on your birthday. I’m so glad we spoke that day, it was the last time I heard your voice, the last time I heard your laughter. I will hold that moment close forever.
I take comfort in imagining that you’re now with Nana and Gramps, and Uncle Charlie probably all together in spirit.
This is, without a doubt, one of the most shocking moments of 2026 for me. I’m so grateful for the time we spent together when I was home in December. I will forever cherish the times we spent together at the gas station when I worked for you in the summers.
Those moments, the laughter, jokes, and your voice—are memories I will truly cherish forever.
I wish it wasn’t so. I will miss you deeply. I love you. I am so grateful to have had you in my life. You will forever hold a place in my heart.
With love, Eva
Pamyour warm heart, Your sharp wit, Your laughter filled every room.
Gone too soon. Yet you stood strong, Always voicing your truth.
You live in every recollection. In every story. In every smile.
I worked beside you. You taught me patience. You taught me discipline.
“Check it again,” you’d say. Lessons I carry, Every single day.
In your humour, In your strength, In your love, You remain steadfast. You remain brave. Your voice stays with me, Serene and clear. Forever loved. Forever near.

(A Tribute To Pam)
A gentle woman with warm embrace
Love and life upon her face
She held herself upwards with dignity and grace
Like a dove she was the symbol of peace, hope and love
When she took flight it was with determination and purpose
She was never hurried, yet steady and measured when she surfaced
She could put the heart at ease
With an inffectious smile that felt like cool breeze
Her outstretched hands were the wings that helped many stand tall
Even though she faced odds, she smiled through it all
Patient, consistent and reliable was she
Devoted to her parents care with love and sincerity
Pleaseant, demure she worked and endured
No fan fare, no acknowledgement and needed no applause
She was anchored firmly in principles of old
Not from stories told, but from upbring and the values that the gibson family hold
Likened to noah’s dove
She is holding the olive branch as she looks down from above
Pam was our messenger of hope, love and peace
May we continue to remember her loving spirit which shall never cease
A gentle spirit, a loyal daughter, sister, aunt and friend
Whose loyality to family and friends continued to the very end
I REMAIN,
GEORGETTE N. DAHL
A TRIBUTE FROM THE MARSHALL BROTHERS
There are friendships that last a season, and then there are those rare, immutable bonds that settle into the soul and become family. Our connection with Pamela Gibson—our beloved “Gibpe”—was the latter. As the Marshall brothers, we stand together in gratitude for her life, her unwavering loyalty, and the decades of sisterhood she so generously shared with us.
Our story with Pam is rooted in the vibrant days of Washington, DC, during our time at The American University (AU). It was there that she and Scrub forged a bond that quickly grew beyond the boundaries of campus acquaintance. They became brother and sister in every way that mattered—navigating academic hurdles, weathering the challenges of being young Bahamians abroad, and celebrating the small victories that felt monumental when you were far from home.
Those who knew them then will remember the legendary “expeditions” to the Giant (Food store) on Wisconsin Avenue. They would stock up on Bahamian essentials and then guide that grocery cart—with far more determination than grace—down Massachusetts Avenue toward campus.
In the kitchen of Anderson Hall, Pam and Scrub transformed a simple dormitory into a sanctuary. As the aroma of home-cooked Bahamian meals drifted through the hallways, curious residents would wander by, drawn by the laughter and the steam rising from their pots. In the heart of a cold DC winter, they created their own little island.
During her years at AU, Pam embodied focus, and discipline. She was a magnetic presence within the Bahamian community and a joyful, familiar face at the Bahamian Embassy. It was there that Ambassador Reginald Woods affectionately christened her “Gibpe”—a name that endured because it captured the sweetness and spirit we all came to cherish.
To the Marshall boys, she was never just a friend; she was the sister we inherited. Steady, kind, and full of quiet grace, she anchored those around her. She loved her family fiercely, and she carried that love with a gentleness that made everyone feel seen, valued, and held.
As we reflect on her journey, we are reminded of the old Bahamian saying: “Good friends are better than pocket money.”
Pam was the greatest wealth we could have asked for. Her friendship enriched our lives in ways no currency could ever measure.
Gibpe, we give thanks for your life, your laughter, and the love you shared so freely. You have left an indelible mark on the Marshall family. Though you are gone from our sight, you will never be gone from our hearts. May her soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
Richard, Lincoln “Scrub,” and Dennis
As we bid farewell to Distinguished President Pamela Gibson of the Kiwanis Ckub of Fort Montagu, let us carry forward the love and laughter she brought into our lives. TRIBUTE TO DISTINGUISHED PRESIDENT PAMELA GIBSON
Kiwanis Club of Fort Montagu
Distinguished President Pamela Gibson was more than a servant leader; she was a guiding light. DP Pam taught us that service creates family. The friendships built under her leadership were not temporary, they became lifelong bonds.
Through her service, DP Pam demonstrated what true leadership looks like: genuine, steady, selfless, and rooted in love for people, especially children. She did not seek recognition; she sought results. She believed in doing the work, serving with excellence, and lifting others as she climbed.
Her presidential theme, “Save a child, build a bridge to tomorrow,” reflected the very heart of who she was, a devoted servant leader committed to creating brighter futures for children and communities alike.
In meetings, her voice was thoughtful and steady. In moments of challenge, she remained calm and measured. She leaves us not only cherished memories, but also a standard, a standard of leadership anchored in integrity, honesty, and service.
Today we weep, but today we also give thanks for a life poured out in service, for love generously given, and for a legacy that will continue through every child helped and every leader she inspired.
To the Gibson family, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy. May God wrap you in His perfect peace and comfort you in this season of sorrow. We grieve with you, and we stand in faith, believing that one day we will be reunited with our dear sister again.
