GET READY FOR WORLD BOOK DAY ON THURSDAY 5 MARCH World Book day is fast approaching and there will be lots of exciting events going on throughout the day. Pupils will be able to raise money for Book Aid and send books around the world to young people who desperately want to read. Alongside this pupils will be able to win book tokens and prizes for their House. The activities for the day will include:
TUESDAY 28 APRIL AT THE MILL
Bring in 50p for Book Aid and wear or carry an accessory from your favourite book for the day (Scarf, glasses, teapot, wings). There will be a winner from each house for the best accessory Video book tasters for the day to start each lesson House book quiz for pupils to complete in year groups in their House meeting on the day Guess the book of the English teachers

INTRODUCING THE NEW SIBFORD WEBSITE This week saw the launch of the new Sibford School website. After many months of behind the scenes work with Interactive Schools, the website is now live and ready to be explored by users. The homepage proudly showcases our new highly creative, animated photography featuring a number of our own students. We hope the new site offers a seamless user experience and easily offers visitors the information they need to know. SFL LEARNER OF THE WEEK Jack is this week's SfL learner of the week! We have been really impressed with Jack’s focus and determination in the past week. On two occasions he has produced excellent, thoughtful extended pieces of writing. Well done Jack!
LES MISÉRABLES SCHOOL EDITION - NEXT WEEK After months of rehearsals, the four evening performances of Les Misérables School Edition take place next week! Performances take place on Tuesday 3 - Friday 6 March at 7pm. Limited tickets are still available for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday performances and can be purchased online here or via Main School reception for £8. For those who have tickets to attend, a special performance programme will be available on the night priced at £2.

UPCOMING PSFA EVENTS PSFA meeting. Monday 2 March. 6.30pm. Senior School Library. Please do join us, refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome. Pie and quiz night. Friday 13 March. 7.30pm. Dining Hall. Join us for our popular, annual pie and quiz night. Tickets are £10 and include a meal and a soft drink. Tickets are available to purchase from Junior and main school reception.
PSFA MAY BALL - AUCTION PRIZES The live and silent auctions are one of the main highlights of the May Ball, with friends of the Sibford School community kindly donating a huge variety of wonderful prizes. Under the watchful eye of expert auctioneer Toby Spence, this year bidders will be generously donating funds to both our fantastic charity Blue Skye Thinking as well as for the PSFA to support projects within the School. We are now gathering lots for both the live and silent auctions and hope to accumulate a wide variety of enticing prizes ranging from tickets to events, activities and experiences, to holiday lets, make a promise and goodies. The more we think outside of the box, the more fun the auction lots will be! THE SIBFORD BOARDING BULLETIN! It has been wonderful to have everyone back together again after the holiday. It is great to see everyone refreshed for the second half of term. Once the clamour of the unpacking was over, it has been really heartening to see the warmth and conviviality in the respective common rooms, as the students have come back together to catch-up after the break. It has been the final week of the current KS3 activity series and the students have enjoyed a chance to shop and eat in Banbury, take each other on in a variety of sporting challenges, and creating and devouring some delicious baked goodies in a baking session. The senior boarders also had a shopping trip, a gym trip and a bouldering evening on our climbing wall. It is great to see everyone refreshed and getting straight back into the action. The return of Champions League football also stoked some rivalries between houseparents and students with a screening of the Real Madrid vs Manchester City game – despite the tensions, everyone was still friendly by the final whistle. We also welcome a new member to the house team, Erin Leatherbarrow, who has joined Margaret Fell. She has been enjoying her first week and has commented on what a lovely community it is in the girls’ boarding house.

The first 3 occasional boarding bookings will receive a 50% discount on their first night! If your child is staying for a sports fixture or school trip they receive 50% discount on the occasional boarding fee.
