Meeting the Business Challenge 2026

Page 1

LawnBros LLC is a locally owned business providing lawn and landscape services in Ephrata and the surrounding areas. At a young age, owner and entrepreneur Brock Keener had a vision of creating a full-service lawn care business to create beautiful outdoor spaces and serve his community.

It all started in 2012, when Brock first used a push mower at nine years old. He liked the experience so much that he decided to start a lawn care business with his older brother, Branson. They went door to door through their neighborhood, offering their services to anyone who was interested. To help brand themselves, they named their growing business “LawnBros.” In the early years, both brothers were too young to drive, so their parents drove them around in their minivan to serve weekly mowing customers.

Years later, in 2019, Brock realized he had a unique passion to serve people in this way and took sole ownership of the business. That same year he added an LLC to make the business official.

Once he graduated from Ephrata High School in 2022, Brock decided to make his lawn and landscape business his full-time occupation. Brock’s vision was for LawnBros to become a household name known for high-quality service, excellent communication, and outstanding attention to detail. The business’ mission is to provide value to every customer through quality lawn and landscaping services. Brock states, “Each year my team and I work hard to make properties beautiful. We strive to put the customer first in everything we do and always love serving the community in this way. We give all glory and praise to God for guiding the business to this point. We eagerly anticipate the future and the incredible plans He has in store for us!”

Today, LawnBros is a full-service property maintenance company, offering customers lawn mowing, lawn treatments, mulching, hedge and tree trimming, power washing, stump removal, spring and fall clean-up services, and snow removal. They offer very competitive prices to provide the best value for their customers.

LawnBros can be reached via phone at 717-471-9671, through their website: Lawnbros. com, via email at contact@lawnbros.com or through their Facebook page. Consider joining their team, they are always looking for hard-working individuals that enjoy working outdoors! Contact LawnBros today, where service is always in season!

UNITED ZION RETIREMENT COMMUNITY

In the early 1900s, Barbara and Henry Firestone opened their home to neighbors who needed assistance and began caring for them. As members of the United Zion Church and owners of a bakery that served the local area, Barbara and Henry’s generosity flowed from their Christian faith and their commitment to the community. Along with the church, they formally incorporated the effort as the United Zion Home for the Homeless in 1905.

Today they are known as the United Zion Retirement Community. They are a non-profit, faith based, community offering Residential Living, Personal Care and Nursing. Their dedication to their mission is still the same – Based on Christian principles, they provide a community where residents thrive by focusing on independence, dignity and physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. They are open to people of all faiths.

United Zion Retirement Community is proud to share they have been recognized among the top 1,000 nursing homes in the country by U.S. News & World Report in their 2026 “Best Nursing Homes” list, earning high-performing marks in both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 nursing homes nationwide and selected fewer than 19% as “high performing.” This honor reflects United Zion’s ongoing commitment to helping residents thrive in every way.

They are also thrilled to announce that United Zion Retirement Community has officially received Accelerated Care Plus (ACP) Certification for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, making them only the second senior living community in the nation to earn this distinction. The ACP’s program is a cutting-edge, evidence based approach that supports individuals living with heart and lung conditions.

United Zion Retirement Community is a member of Leading Age and Anabaptist Providers Group. President and CEO, M. Sue Verdegem was one of the featured speakers at a recent Leading Age 2025 event who spoke on “wall-less dementia care.” The team members at United Zion Retirement Community help to ensure residents flourish no matter where they are on their life journey.

Whether you or your loved one is looking for less maintenance or the confidence of having a plan for future care needs, United Zion Retirement Community’s caring community is the place for you. THE ROBERT M. LOMBARD HYPERBARIC OXYGENATION MEDICAL CENTER, INC.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a safe, doctor-prescribed treatment that helps your body heal naturally. During treatment, you relax in a comfortable, sealed chamber and breathe pure oxygen while the air pressure is gently increased. This allows extra oxygen to travel through your bloodstream and reach areas that normally don’t get enough oxygen.

That extra oxygen helps your body:

• Heal injuries faster

• Reduce inflammation

• Fight infection

• Grow new blood vessels

• Boost immune and stem cell activity

HBOT is especially helpful for conditions that are slow to heal, such as radiation injuries, bone infections, non-healing diabetic wounds, and other chronic conditions. It can also support healing when standard treatments alone aren’t enough. For example, in cases of Lyme disease, the high-oxygen environment helps weaken the bacteria so your immune system can clear it and begin repairing damage.

Many patients describe HBOT as life-changing

We also offer Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF), a gentle, non-invasive treatment that improves circulation, supports energy balance, and helps your cells absorb nutrients more effectively. Used together, HBOT and PEMF can enhance overall healing and wellness.

Our outpatient clinic, established in 1979 by Robert M. Lombard MD, uses hospital-grade, singleperson chambers with 100% oxygen. Care is overseen by our Nursing Director, Connie Waltz, CHRN, who has over 40 years of experience.

In addition, the HSCV holds monthly informative meetings that are open and free to the public, and they publish an annual journal for members, as well as an informative quarterly newsletter. THE WITMER COMPANY

“Setting the Standard in Comfort Since 1941”

Whether you need a routine maintenance check or an emergency repair, The Witmer Company, located at 286 Locust Street, New Holland, is available to handle all of your family’s plumbing, heating, cooling, sewer and drain, water conditioning and indoor quality needs. They continually strive to exceed customers’ expectations.

Roy and Dorothy Witmer founded the company in 1941 with the simple purpose of delivering high quality service at a reasonable price for the community. As the company has continued to grow, their values have never changed. They continue to maintain relationships with each customer. Most of their customers have been with them for over 10 years, if not for life.

Their employees are extremely dedicated as well. A majority of them have been with the company for the majority of their careers. A review from a customer named Scott confirms the high quality and longevity of the employees, “For the last 15 years, we have used Witmer to service our existing system, which they also installed, and we have NEVER had one complaint with any of their technicians. In fact, the technician, Eric, who installed the York system 15 years ago, was the same technician who also just installed our new Amana system. How often does that happen? Speaks volumes for Witmer’s employee retention. Eric and his co-worker, Luis, were very professional and courteous and left our house as clean as it was when they started. We can highly recommend them for any of your HVAC needs.”

Current President Jeffrey K. Henshaw has been in the HVAC industry for over 30 years. He has gone from estimating residential and commercial work, to now being a co-owner with Vice President Andrew McClure. Andrew has been with The Witmer Company for the last 40 years, starting as a technician to a service manager. They are both directly involved with the company and deal directly with customers. Karen Mull serves as the Office Manager. She manages all aspects of the office and the company literally could not function without her. At AFP we have been experiencing sustained growth and continual expansion. One of the most notable changes in our industry has been the increased difficulty in staffing. With unemployment so low in Lancaster County, finding employees with the necessary skills is increasingly competitive. Our company provides the perfect setting for qualified job seekers wanting to join us in this far-reaching industry. Due to our expansion, AFP currently has many job opportunities in maintenance, packaging, processing and sanitation positions.

We are working with the Chamber of Commerce and the Workforce Development Board on ways to change the perception that manufacturing is a dead-end job. AFP is working towards changing the conversation at schools and with parents about the viability of these skilled jobs. This is a national issue that is being faced by many companies. We are committed to being proactive and coordinating our efforts within the community in order to build a strong economic basis for Lancaster County.

With three strategically located facilities—in New Holland, Pennsylvania, Clear Lake, Wisconsin and Visalia, California—our triangulated placement gives us access to convenient distribution channels nationally and internationally. We offer our customers unrivaled logistical advantages regardless of size or industry.

AFP is continually striving to improve the way we do things so we can create a better environment and continue our long-lasting expansion. We are committed to fostering proactive and innovative leadership, delivering market-driven solutions and adding value through dedication to our customers’ success. Come join the AFP team and see for yourself what makes us stand apart from the competition.

HORNING’S FURNITURE INC.,

ROCK-A-BYE BABY FURNITURE

Leroy Horning grew up building furniture in his parents’ chair shop before moving into retail. In 1962, he and his wife, Evelyn, founded Horning’s Furniture in a humble garage. Over the decades, the business expanded into a 45,000-square-foot showroom at 2015 Horseshoe Pike, Annville, built on a simple mission: offer high-quality furniture at honest prices with personalized service. Today, their children, Don Horning, Darlene Bosworth and Sally Moyer continue that legacy.

Unlike many other furniture retailers, Horning’s Furniture offers complimentary in-store design services, an on-staff service technician, and free delivery within its service area. Along with various Amish manufacturers, the store also carries major brands such as La-Z-Boy, England, Temple, Hallagan, Zimmerman Chair and Bradington Young.

In 1990, Evelyn saw another need in the community – quality nursery furniture. While shopping for a crib, she was surprised by the lack of safe, well-crafted options available locally. She began Rock-A-Bye Baby Furniture and the store quickly became a trusted source for families for safe, stylish nursery pieces. In 2005, Rock-A-Bye Baby Furniture merged with Horning’s Furniture. They provide options in various price ranges without sacrificing craftsmanship and safety. Products meet and exceed government safety regulations. For added convenience, staff can assemble cribs directly in your nursery for a small, additional fee. They have a large display of locally crafted Amish nursery furniture built from solid wood that’s designed to stand the test of time.

Horning’s Furniture and Rock-A-Bye Baby Furniture remain committed to

HURSH’S COUNTRY STORE

(Two Stores Side-by-Side)

The name “Hursh’s Country Store” is a misnomer. The reason being is that Hursh’s Country Store is actually two stores, side-byside! Located at 2425 West Main Street, Ephrata,

vital addition to their business. Ironically, it was Carl’s background in construction that led him to open Hursh’s. Carl’s construction job kept him from the most important part of his life... his family. The Hursh’s thought that if they could open a store near their home, they would be rewarded with more time together. Their dream soon became a reality, and Hursh’s Country Store was born.

The two buildings house different products. Building A boasts “Farmhouse Style” décor and traditional wall-art (with much of it made in the U.S.A.), featuring the latest fashions in primitive styles and cottage motifs with a contemporary flair which guarantee to enhance the look and ambiance of any home. Building B has more utilitarian home products, including housewares and sewing machines and sewing products. Hursh’s Country Store is one of the only PFAFF product dealers in the area. Building B also has a large selection of retro-style toys for children of all ages including Mary Meyer plush toys, Magna-Tile Playsets and much more. Hursh’s also carries a nice selection of E-bikes and electric scooters. Carl states that it’s the ability to provide quality PFAFF sewing machines and products to his customers in order for them to fabricate their own clothing, and that has taken his business to the next level. They also do repair work on all makes and models of sewing machines. Carl says that in a day and age where online shopping is commonplace, he enjoys providing his customers with a store where it’s fun to shop, because he feels people still enjoy shopping in person. Hursh’s Country Store can be reached at 717-721-2575.

SOLID FLUE CHIMNEY SAVERS

Did you know that many house fires start as a result of a poorly functioning and unsafe chimney? Carbon monoxide can also leak into your home through damaged and deteriorated liners.

Solid Flue Chimney Savers are able to restore your chimney back to safe, working order without a complete teardown of the chimney. They have several relining options to choose from depending on the situation.

Solid Flue is a unique chimney lining system ideally suited to reline and restore old, damaged or worn out chimney flues. Solid Flue is a registered and patented trade name with a network of chimney lining professionals. It was featured on the TV show, “This Old House,” many times. Through a unique process, a properly sized rubber bladder is dropped down the chimney and spaced evenly, and then a patented solid flue material is poured around the formers and left overnight to properly cure. Solid Flue is a zero clearance liner meaning heat doesn’t transfer through the liner to combustible materials surrounding the chimney. The liner comes with a lifetime warranty.

Solid Flue can also reline your existing masonry chimney with a flexible stainless steel liner. This liner, depending on the severity of the damage, may be an option. This liner also comes with a lifetime warranty.

Solid Flue Chimney Savers was started in 1990 by Mark Federer, whose experience includes stone and brick masonry and roofing. Over the years, the company has seen a rising trend towards more wood and pellet heating systems being used as alternative heat sources. Solid Flue Chimney Savers can also perform camera inspections to verify the condition of the flue, masonry repairs and installation of accessories like caps and air sealing top mounted dampers, making sure chimneys are safe for families to use. They are capable of bringing new life to chimneys that are new or more than 200 years old. They are also specialized in working with insurance claims resulting from chimney fires, lightning strikes, wind and other storm-related damage. The staff at Solid Flue Chimney Savers is very professional and courteous and will help you protect your property like it was their very own. Solid Flue Chimney Savers is located at 40 D. North Water Street, Lititz. Their hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ZERBE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY:

A Legacy of Compassion Spanning Generations

Founded in 1958, Zerbe Retirement Community has been serving seniors in Lancaster County for more than 65 years. What began as a heartfelt act of service by three sisters—Dot and Sis Zerbe, and Ann Zerbe Good—has grown into a trusted, family-owned retirement community rooted in compassion, faith, and personalized care.

The sisters, along with Ann’s husband, Omar “Curly” Good, initially opened their Bowmansville farmhouse to elderly individuals in need of care. As their hospitality services evolved into a growing demand for healthcare support, Dot, Sis, and Ann became Licensed Practical Nurses in 1960, formalizing their mission and solidifying Zerbe as a legitimate healthcare provider. Soon after, they relocated to their current home in Narvon, believing they were divinely guided to both the vocation and location. Their calling was simple, yet profound: to serve others with love and dignity.

When the sisters were no longer able to operate the business, leadership passed to their niece, Nancy Caffrey-Schafer, who faithfully continued the family tradition. In 2016, Nancy entrusted the next chapter to her son, Dan Caffrey, now CEO and owner of Zerbe Retirement Community.

Dan Caffrey is no stranger to Zerbe. He began working at the community at age 14 in the maintenance department and grew up immersed in its culture and values. Today, he proudly carries the Zerbe legacy into the next generation, preserving the sisters’ original vision while guiding the organization forward. “Zerbe was founded on strong family values,” Caffrey says. “More than six decades later, those values continue to guide everything we do.”

Caffrey credits the organization’s success to its dedicated leadership team and staff, emphasizing the philosophy instilled by the Zerbe sisters: “We are here for the residents. If we take care of the residents, everything else will fall into place.”

One of the defining features of Zerbe Retirement Community is its intimate size. Smaller than many comparable facilities, Zerbe offers a warm, “down-home” atmosphere that allows staff to provide individualized care across multiple levels, including skilled nursing, personal care, and 58 independent living cottages. Its peaceful rural setting in northeast Lancaster County further enhances the sense of comfort and tranquility residents experience.

As health or physical limitations arise during retirement, Zerbe offers flexible options designed to support independence while providing necessary assistance. Harvest View at Zerbe Retirement Community offers personal care services for

REINHOLDS VFW POST 6759

The Reinholds VFW Post 6759 was started in 1947 so there would be a place for military members to come and enjoy each other’s company and to support those coming home from the war. The VFW is a familyfriendly small business whose main focus is supporting veterans and the community. They donate to numerous community events each year, as well as the bulk of their donations go to help local veterans in various ways, including offering medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, potty chairs and shower chairs to those in need.

It takes four groups to insure the VFW survives: The Post, which is made up of military members, The Home Association, which is also made up of military members, but is separate from the post (this is the Canteen), The Auxiliary, which is made up of family members of military veterans and the social members (who are anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of a membership, but doesn’t qualify for the other categories).

The Reinholds VFW is a close-knit group who has amazing members willing to donate their time to any cause. Some of the special fundraising events held throughout the year include two purse Bingos, selling chocolate covered strawberries and peanut butter and coconut eggs, paint nights and car shows. They also host Easter and Christmas parties for kids, have karaoke contests, veteran’s dinners, participate in Memorial Day parades and services, wreath laying and placing flags at cemeteries. Chicken BBQs are also held in the warmer months.

They also offer a variety of entertainment options for kids, families and night life including Senior Bingo, band nights/karaoke, kids’ karaoke and customer appreciation nights. The Canteen part of the VFW has breakfast served daily until 11:00 a.m. Sundays feature breakfast specials every week. There is also a full dinner menu with rotating weekly specials every Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Members enjoy Bingo and Bingo burgers every other Monday and Taco Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m.

The bar offers a huge variety of beer, liquor, seltzers, ciders and non-alcoholic drinks. They have seven beers on tap and over 40 beers and seltzers in bottles and cans, as well as 10 different sodas. 50 different liquors are also offered.

The Reinholds VFW Post 6759 is truly a special place, as the staff has had very little turnover with some of the employees having worked there for over 10 years, some up to 25! The VFW gets many compliments about the staff often, “The staff is awesome. That’s what keeps people coming back,” “The staff is awesome. This place is like family. The Veteran support is phenomenal.” Many Veterans agree that it is the best VFW they’ve been to. “They are always so nice and helping the Veterans.”

Steward and Auxiliary President, Britta Stuart thoroughly enjoys coming to work each day, “knowing what we do here and what we stand for is supporting Veterans. I love to see how our members get along, help each other and care about the VFW.” Other staff members include Jonathan Beaver, Quartermaster; Richard Sweigart, Home Association President; Matthew Fasnacht, Commander of Post; and Scott Fisher, Leonard Lausch and Larry Rutt, trustees.

Reinholds VFW Post 6759 is located at 250 Brunners Grove Road, Reinholds. They open at 9:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday, and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. Their phone number is 717-336-9918. More information can also be found on their Facebook page.

FAMILY OF COMPANIES

EMPLOYING & EMPOWERING OUR COMMUNITY

Reliable Storage. Trusted Logistics. Rooted in Community.

If you live in Lancaster County or the surrounding area, you’ve likely seen the familiar Denver Cold semi-trucks on the road or passed one of their warehouse facilities, most notably the location just off the PA Turnpike. You may have even spotted their team at the Denver Fair or the Ephrata Parade, where their beloved penguin mascot, Klondike, made a special appearance. While the name Denver Cold Storage may be well known locally, many may not realize that it is part of a larger, integrated organization known as the Denver Cold Family of Companies.

Denver Cold Storage and Denver Logistics thank all first responders for their dedication and service to our community. We appreciate all that they do today and every day.

Founded more than 40 years ago with a single warehouse, Denver Cold Storage was built on a strong foundation of reliability and service, providing frozen, refrigerated, and ambient food storage for manufacturers and food-based businesses. Over the decades, that mission has expanded into a full-service supply chain solution supported by three closely connected companies.

Today, the Denver Cold Family of Companies includes Denver Cold Storage, Denver Logistics, and Denver Freight Brokerage. Together, these companies allow customers to work with a single, coordinated partner for storage, transportation, and freight coordination - reducing complexity and improving reliability.

Denver Cold Storage operates three warehouses in Denver and one in Ephrata, along with the company’s corporate office. Its services extend far beyond storage, offering value-added solutions such as order picking, blast freezing, labeling, repacking, order fulfillment, and delivery.

Complementing these services is Denver Logistics, the transportation arm of the organization. With a fleet of approximately 40 trucks and temperature-controlled trailers, Denver Logistics provides dependable delivery to grocery stores and food distribution warehouses nationwide, serving as the asset-based foundation of the company’s transportation capabilities.

Rounding out the family is Denver Freight Brokerage, which expands those capabilities by connecting customers with efficient, cost-effective freight solutions beyond company-owned equipment. Through established carrier relationships and industry expertise, Denver Freight Brokerage coordinates freight movement across the country, offering customers added flexibility and scalability within their supply chain.

As a family-owned and operated organization, the Denver Cold Family of Companies is deeply committed to creating a supportive, empowering, and growth-oriented workplace. Their focus extends beyond customer service to include the well-being of employees and the local community. This people-first mindset has been central to the company’s continued growth and success.

Collectively, the Denver Cold Family of Companies employs approximately 150 team members. From management to entrylevel positions, every employee plays a vital role in daily operations. Built on hard work, dependability, and dedication, the Denver Cold Family of Companies has earned a reputation as a trusted partner for businesses of all sizes within the food supply chain industry.

What started off as a person helping his friend, has resulted in a business gracing the Ephrata landscape for over 15 years. Tim Mentzer, owner of Ephrata Computer & Electronics, was working full-time in the IT industry. One day his friend called, asking if he could fix an Xbox, since he was so good with computers and electronics. Tim said, “sure,” and fixed the video game. That friend then told another friend, who told another, and Tim realized he could make a living fixing people’s video games, phones and computers. In October of 2010, Tim’s hobby became a full-fledged business and Ephrata Computer & Electronics was born. Now, years later, the business has become Ephrata’s premier electronics shop. Ephrata Computer & Electronics’ services include: computer sales, service and repairs for laptops and desktops, including virus malware removal, computer upgrades, and building custom computers from scratch. Tim also provides cell phone repair services, including LCD replacements, speaker and microphone repair, phone unlocking services, and treatment of liquid and physical damage, along with repair services for video game consoles, iPads and more.

Tim services most major brands of electronics, including products from Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, Sony, Motorolla, HP and many more. Tim boasts of his unique ability to fix the “unfixable.” His distinctive talents enable him to recover data from any device. If another repair service says “no,” Tim says “yes.” Tim goes on to say that many electronics manufacturers have made their technology even more complex over the years, because they don’t want their products to be fixed, hoping that consumers will buy a new piece of equipment instead. But with the help of Ephrata Computer & Electronics, the consumer can thwart the plans of these large corporations, breathing life back into their device for many years to come. It’s these services that give Tim the most satisfaction, helping customers who have been scammed into buying a new device, rather than fixing what they have.

Let Ephrata Computer & Electronics help you in today’s technologically advanced world. Their knowledge of the industry and competitive prices will have you telling your friends of Tim’s wizardry, just like the friend with the broken Xbox!

Ephrata Computer & Electronics is located at 10 North State Street, Ephrata. You can reach them at 717-721-1040 or through their website: ephratacomputer.com. They are open Monday and Friday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. House calls by appointment are honored on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The staff is very accommodating and flexible when working with clients. They are available 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily and also after normal working hours weekdays and weekends.

So whatever your storage needs are, give us a call at 717-336-7058. Denver Self Storage is located at 383 Locust Street, Denver.

HISTORIC EPHRATA CLOISTER

Historic Ephrata Cloister is a National Historic Landmark, a PA Trails of History site, and the cornerstone of the town of Ephrata. The museum has been accredited four times by the American Alliance of Museums, an honor last bestowed on the Cloister in 2023, indicating its significance as a valuable and expertly maintained historic landmark. Since its beginning in 1732, the Cloister has been a source of wonder, inspiration, and curiosity to a growing local and global audience.

Maintained by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and supported by the non-profit Ephrata Cloister Associates (ECA), the world-class museum preserves and interprets the 18th century community that began in 1732 along the banks of the Cocalico where German immigrant Conrad Beissel and his congregation awaited the Second Coming of Christ. At its height in the 1740s/1750s, the community of the Solitary at Ephrata numbered about 80 celibate members and about 200 Householder or married members with families.

This quiet German Anabaptist community accomplished much in its brief existence. They erected four and five-story Germanic-style buildings, some of the largest buildings west of Philadelphia in the 1740s. They also practiced the calligraphic art of Frakturschriften and composed over 1,000 hymns, creating magnificent hymnal manuscripts. Ephrata Sisters are the first documented American women composers. By 1745, the Brotherhood established a printing office to produce works of their own authorship and for outside customers. Fifteen Brothers worked for three years to produce the first German edition of the “Martyr’s Mirror” for their Mennonite neighbors. This was the largest printing in the American colonies prior to the American Revolution.

In 1777, the community’s Meetinghouse served as a military hospital during the Revolutionary War. Around 260 soldiers suffering from disease were cared for by doctors and celibate Sisters. Sixty soldiers died. Following Beissel’s death in 1768, the celibate population declined and by 1813, the last celibate member died, leaving the property and faith to the remaining married members. The following year, they formed the German Seventh Day Baptist Church. Congregation members continued to live and worship at the site as the Borough of Ephrata grew around them.

Today, knowledgeable guides lead tours of the property and welcome the public for exploration. The site offers a first-rate Museum Store whose merchandise features one-of-a-kind work by local artisans.

The Ephrata Cloister Chorus performs and preserves original Ephrata music in concerts in the historic 1741 Meetinghouse. Student Historians present interpretive programs, and volunteers provide the manpower and finances needed for the many programs that enhance the visitor experience. In a major endeavor, the ECA brought the community together to revitalize the amphitheater on the grounds of the Cloister, creating an impressive venue for concerts, weddings, and gatherings.

Global interest in the Cloister is surging, and programming, including Winter History Class, Community Days School Programs, the Ice Cream Social, Apple Dumpling Sales, Candlelight Open House, Lantern Tours, and Christmas at the Cloister attract more visitors.

Today the restored Ephrata Cloister preserves the legacy of the early community, as well as that of Pennsylvania’s founder William Penn and his Holy Experiment that offered religious freedom to early colonists. Walk through the gates and be transported back in time.

The Ephrata Cloister is located at 632 West Main Street, Ephrata. Hours vary seasonally. Please refer to their website, www.ephratacloister.org or call 717-733-6600 for more information.
