This delightful play will charm audiences of all ages with its timeless, heartfelt characters. Volunteers Needed For Shoe-In

Cindy Hoffert, this year’s Chair of the Akron New Year’s Eve Shoe-in, is

asking for volunteers to help with the fun event. She emphasizes that “all the volunteers will have fun while they help the community celebrate New Year’s Eve.” Anyone interested in

volunteering is welcome to attend the next committee meeting, held on Wednesday, November 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Akron Borough Hall. Volunteers are needed for the following: to set up

before the Shoe-in at 1:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, and to tear down after the Shoe-in at 1:00 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Other needs include filling large vats with water to make hot chocolate; hand-

ing out candy bags and ensuring all are safe during the candy shoot; and holding and aiming the candy cannon. Games, such as corn hull, lawn darts, and Kerplunk (Continued On Page 2A)
