Several members of Jan’s Circle of Friends met recently to talk about their goals and commitment to making the community better. Jan’s Circle has been a wonderful

charity and in the five years of working together, they have raised close to $300,000. For every $1.00 that comes in, almost 99¢ goes out to various grant partner recipients.

THURSDAY, APRIL 26 Bethany United Church of Christ, 140 East Main Street, Ephrata, will host a Free Community Meal. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Serving at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 717­ 733­6646.

The Friends of the Adamstown Area Library will hold their Annual Spring Book Sale beginning on Wednesday, May 2 with an Early Bird Special from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be an admission fee for adults (18 and older) on Wednesday night only. The sale resumes on Thursday, May 3 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (fill a bag for a small cost or all books are half price, except collectibles). This year’s sale will take place in the Fellowship Hall of Peace United Church of Christ, 37 East Swartzville Road, just three blocks from the intersection of Routes 272 and 897.

SATURDAY, APRIL 28 Zion Reformed U.C.C., 1356 Apple Street, Ephrata, will hold a Beef Pot Pie Dinner, from 11:00 a.m. to ? Takeouts only. There is a cost. For more information, call 717­733­ 4571.

SATURDAY, APRIL 28 Bareville Fire Company, 211 East Main Street, Leola, will host an All You Can Eat Pot Pie Dinner, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pot pie by the quart will be sold from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There is a cost.
