With the new year officially underway, one local family decided to come up with a way to raise money to help those impacted by the COVID19 situation and offer some hope for a better 2021. The Pfautz family of Ephrata came up with the idea to have a bake sale. Parents Dana and Seth guided the children with

their kindness project, which was a way for their kids to be actively involved in caring for others. The initial idea stemmed from one of Dana’s daughters and her friends who had a lemonade stand this summer to help get school supplies for Ephrata students in need. The siblings spent most of an entire day baking and

handing out flyers and had the sale the following day. It was a lastminute idea and the kids were amazed at the support and number of people who stopped. When all was said and done, they received over $1,500 in donations. So far they have sent a Visa gift card and some diapers and wipes to an unemployed server
