Professor Ananya Mukherjee Vice Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University

Professor Ananya Mukherjee holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California, USA, and both a BA and MA in Economics from Jadavpur University, India Prior to her current role at Shiv Nadar University, she served as Provost and Vice-President Academic at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan, where she led antiracism and inclusive education initiatives. Dr. Mukherjee has received several prestigious accolades, including being named one of the 15 Most Influential Women in Education by Business World (2022), one of Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women (2021), and recognized as one of the Brilliant Women in Academia by Canadian Immigrant magazine in 2016.

Professor Suneet Tuli Professor, Electrical Engineering, Dean, Research & Partnerships Dean, School of Engineering

Dr Suneet Tuli joined Shiv Nadar University in 2019, leading the School of Engineering and research initiatives. Previously, he served at IIT Delhi for three decades in research leadership roles. An expert in thermal-acoustic-electrical-optical interactions and non-destructive characterization, he has led numerous projects and received the IETE Prof. K. Sreenivas Award. He holds a Ph.D. and M Tech from IIT Delhi and a B E from BITS Pilani.

Professor Rajat Kathuria Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor, Economics

Professor Rajat Kathuria joined Shiv Nadar University as Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and Professor of Economics on April 1, 2021. With over 20 years of teaching and 15 years in economic policy, he previously served as Director & Chief Executive at ICRIER. He has taught at the University of Maryland and IMI, New Delhi, and worked with the World Bank, ILO, and UNCTAD. His research is widely published, and he serves on various industry and government committees. He holds an economics degree from St. Stephen’s College, a Master’s from DSE, and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland

Professor Sanjeev Galande Dean, School of Natural Sciences

Dr Sanjeev Galande, a renowned cell biologist and epigeneticist, joined as Dean of the School of Natural Sciences in June 2021. With over two decades of academic experience, he previously served as Professor of Biology and Dean of Research at IISER Pune, leading the Centre of Excellence in Epigenetics. His research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms in gene expression, cancer, aging, and evolution. He also contributed to cellular signaling studies at NCCS Pune. Dr. Galande holds a Ph.D. from IISc and completed postdoctoral research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. A Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize recipient, he has held honorary positions globally.

Professor Rajesh Chakrabarti Dean, School of Management and Entrepreneurship

A distinguished academic and policy advisor with over 20 years of experience in finance, public policy, and management education, he has served as faculty at Georgia Tech, the University of Alberta, and UCLA. He has held senior leadership roles at Bennett University, MDI Gurgaon, Jindal Global Business School, Thapar Institute, and the Indian School of Business, where he was the founding Executive Director of the Bharti Institute of Public Policy. An author and editor of 10 books, including The Oxford Short Introduction to Public Policy in India and Bihar Breakthrough, he has published in leading international journals, advised Indian regulators and global institutions, and holds a PhD in Management from UCLA.

Professor Rajeev Kumar Singh

Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh is the Dean of International Programs and a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence. As Chair of Admissions and a founding faculty member since 2011, he has played a key role in shaping the university’s academic and admissions framework. His contributions to the Career Development Center have enhanced student opportunities. Passionate about teaching, he transitioned from EdTech roles at CL Educate, MeritNation, and IMS Learning Resources to academia. With expertise in startup universities, he remains a highly regarded professor, instrumental in SNU’s growth as an Institute of Eminence

Professor Partha Chatterjee Dean of Academics

Partha Chatterjee, Dean of Academics and Professor of Economics at Shiv Nadar University, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Previously, he taught at NUS Business School and FMS, University of Delhi. His research focuses on macroeconomics, international economics, and emerging economies. A founding faculty member at Shiv Nadar University, he has played a pivotal role in academic planning, program development, and global partnerships, including dual degrees with Arizona State University. He has led international collaborations, student mobility initiatives, and the Beyond Boundaries series. He also contributed to the university’s long-term vision for humanities and social sciences.

Dr. Siddharth Savyasachi Malu Director, AI Centre of Excellence

Dr. Siddharth Savyasachi Malu is Director, AI Center of Excellence at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR, with over 25 years of experience spanning academia, industry consulting, and research. He leads applied AI initiatives in healthcare, document intelligence, and educational technology. Previously, he was Associate Professor at IIT Indore, where he founded the Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Space Engineering, built the institute’s first radio interferometer, and led major curriculum reforms and industry collaborations. Trained at the University of Oxford and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, his work bridges rigorous research with real-world impact across science, engineering, and business.

Brigadier Steve Ismail (Retd.) Dean of Students

A retired Indian Army officer with over 35 years of distinguished service, he last served as Commander of the Young Officers’ Wing at the Infantry School, Mhow. An experienced trainer and leadership coach, he has led training teams at the NCC Women Officers’ Training Academy and the Indian Military Academy, and delivered a TEDx talk titled “Confidence, Courage and Conviction” in 2018 A recipient of the Sena Medal, the Army Training Command Scholar Warrior Award, and multiple commendations, he has developed curricula focused on confidence, self-belief, and wellness. A fitness enthusiast, he currently oversees student life, affairs, and discipline at SNU and holds a postgraduate degree in Defence Studies

Prof. Shalu Kalra is an Associate Professor of Finance and Program Chair of the MBA Online Program at Shiv Nadar University She is also associated with Redspring Consulting, a firm specializing in Financial Modeling. Before transitioning to academia, Prof. Kalra traded in Fixed Income Securities. Sanjeev Yadav is a Professor and Head of the Department at the School of Engineering, Shiv Nadar University. His research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, membrane separation, biomass conversion, wastewater treatment, and process planning and scheduling. He holds a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, an M.S. from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, and a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi He brings over a decade of academic experience at Shiv Nadar University, complemented by prior industry experience in the paper and water treatment sector. He is a recipient of prestigious Young Scientist grants from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and SERB, Government of India.

Professor Colin Jamora

Senior Professor & Head of the Department School of Natural Sciences

Colin Jamora is a Senior Professor and Head of the Department at the School of Natural Sciences. He holds a PhD in Biology from the University of California, San Diego. His laboratory focuses on achieving a mechanistic understanding of the cellular and molecular basis of tissue regeneration and repair, with the aim of controlling these processes for therapeutic applications. His research employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating genetic engineering of mouse models, cell biology, biochemistry, and quantitative biology to study tissue homeostasis, with the skin serving as a primary experimental platform.

Dr. Divya Kannan

Dr. Divya Kannan is an Assistant Professor in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, specializing in nineteenth- and twentieth-century South Asian history. Her research interests include the history of education, childhood and youth, caste, gender, social movements, colonial violence, Christian missions, and public and oral histories. She holds a Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. in Modern Indian History from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and a B.A. (Hons.) from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. Her award-winning book Contested Childhoods: Caste and Education in Colonial Kerala received the 2025 Grace Abbott Book Prize. She has been a recipient of prestigious fellowships, including the Charles Wallace India Trust Fellowship and research fellowships in Germany and the UK, reflecting her strong global academic engagement.

Dr. N.T. Sudarshan Naidu is a distinguished academic with a Ph.D. from the FPM Institute of Rural Management Anand. His research spans Relationship Marketing, BoP Marketing, Customer Experience Management, Agribusiness, Managing Collectives, Local Governance, and Social Impact. He holds an M.Eng. from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and a B.Tech. from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, where he earned a university Gold Medal He has also been awarded the ICAR Junior Research Fellowship.

Dr. Sanket Pai

Assistant Professor, Department of Design School of Humanities and Social Sciences

Dr Sanket Pai is a Professor in the Department of Design and a design researcher with a strong foundation in industrial and mechanical design. He holds a joint PhD from IIT Bombay and Monash University, Australia, where his doctoral research focused on Design Interventions in Farm Equipment for Indian Small Farmers With over seven years of experience spanning education, machine building, product design, and industry engagement, he has worked with Bosch Ltd, IIT Bombay, UnitedWorld Institute of Design, and Padre Conceição College of Engineering, Goa. His research interests include product innovation, inclusive design, purposeful game design, speculative design, and sustainable design futures.

Professor Rajib Mall

Senior Professor and Head of the Department Computer Science, School of Engineering

Rajib Mall is a Senior Professor and Head of the Department. He earned his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore With over 30 years at IIT Kharagpur, he served as Professor and held leadership roles including Head of CSE, Computer Centre, and Centre for Educational Technology, after early industry experience at Motorola India and a stint at Curtin University, Australia. His research interests include software testing, software design, and applying machine learning to software engineering and education.

Dr. Divya Shrivastava

Associate Professor and Head School of Engineering

Dr Divya Shrivastava is an Associate Professor and Head in the School of Engineering at Shiv Nadar University, DelhiNCR. She holds a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi and specializes in Reliability Engineering, Statistical Quality Control, Operations Management, and Smart Manufacturing. With prior teaching experience at NIT Hamirpur, she is an active researcher, international conference participant, and reviewer for leading global journals in operations and industrial engineering.

Prof Samarendra Singh

Dr Samarendra Pratap Singh is a Professor in the School of Natural Sciences at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from IIT Kanpur, with earlier degrees from Banaras Hindu University and U.P. College, Varanasi. His research expertise spans advanced materials and surface engineering, semiconductor materials and devices, nano science, alternate energy systems, and biophysics. He brings extensive international research experience from IMRE–A*STAR, Singapore. Professor Singh has served as Principal and CoPrincipal Investigator on multiple DST and ICAR-funded projects and is a recipient of several awards for excellence in research, teaching, and service.

Dr. Ajoy Kapat

Dr. Ajoy Kapat is an Assistant Professor in the School of Natural Sciences at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Bern, Switzerland, with prior degrees from IIT Madras and the University of Calcutta. His research focuses on metalloradical chemistry, modern radical reactions, asymmetric and synergistic catalysis, and biomimetic synthesis of natural products, supported by mechanistic and computational studies. Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the Chairperson of HCLTech, a leading global technology organization with annual revenues of over US$14.5 billion and the Chairperson of its CSR Board Committee.

Roshni is a Trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation Since its inception, the Shiv Nadar Foundation has invested $1.7 billion in nation building institutions and driving transformational leadership. Roshni is also the Chairperson and driving force behind VidyaGyan, a leadership academy for the economically underprivileged, meritorious, rural students of Uttar Pradesh, and has been working towards nurturing future leaders from rural India who can be catalysts of change for their communities, villages and the nation at large

Passionate about wildlife and conservation, Roshni established The Habitats Trust in 2018. The Foundation aims to work towards protecting India’s natural habitats and its indigenous species with the core mission of creating and conserving sustainable ecosystems through strategic partnerships and collaborations with all stakeholders, at every level.

Roshni is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at the MIT School of Engineering, USA and also a member of the Kellogg School of Management Executive Board for Asia. She serves on the board of directors of US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and is on the global board of directors of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) She is also an independent director on the board of the HDFC Asset Management Company.

In recognition of her outstanding work both in business and in philanthropy, Roshni has received several honors and accolades. France’s highest civilian award Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour) has been conferred on her in 2024 In 2025, she was featured for the ninth consecutive year in ‘The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women’ list, compiled and released by Forbes.

Since 2019, she has been producing an episode series on the most endangered wildlife species in India‘On The Brink’. The episodes on Bats and Gharials have been recipients of two National Film Awards in the category of science & environment. Roshni has also produced a children’s film, ‘Halkaa’, based on the unique journey of a slum child battling the issue of open defecation

Roshni holds an undergraduate degree in Communications from Northwestern University and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. At Kellogg, she was awarded the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award. In 2023, Roshni was conferred with the Schaffner Award by Kellogg for her contribution to the society Roshni was conferred with Lewis Institute Community Changemaker Award by Babson College in 2017.
