Campsites within the Shire of Esperance are situated in fragile coastal country. You can help to preserve these areas by following these simple guidelines:
• BYO firewood. Deadwood is essential to the
ecosystem, providing homes for animals and stabilising the soil; please leave where it belongs.
• Stick to the formed beach access points.Take a portaloo to campsites without facilities.
• Take Your Rubbish Home.
When 4WDriving • Always keep your vehicle in 4WD. Reducing the pressure in your tyres is the easiest way to negotiate boggy sections.
• Please ensure you leave campsites and surrounding areas as you found them.
• Stick to existing tracks.
Dieback Warning Phytophthora Dieback is the greatest threat to our natural heritage across the south coast region. Dieback attacks and rots plant roots, destroying our natural bush. The disease can be easily spread through soil on footwear, vehicles and camping equipment. A little care is all it takes to make a big difference. Take care when moving between areas. Clean soil off of shoes and equipment and avoid unsealed roads when it has rained. If you witness someone littering, lighting illegal fires or vandalising campsites, make note of the vehicle registration number & contact the Shire Rangers as soon as possible on (08) 9083 1533 or Department of Parks and Wildlife (08) 9083 2100.
