Mission Sacred Heart Greenwich, an all-girls, independent, Catholic school, educates and empowers students to pursue excellence, build courage and confidence, and lead lives of purpose and integrity.

Vision Sacred Heart Greenwich envisions a world where all girls and women are able to shape the future through learning and service, defined by our Goals and Criteria. We transform the world, one girl at a time.

Pursuing Excellence Strategic Plan Pursuing Excellence envisions the future for Sacred Heart Greenwich and shapes our strategy for the next five years. The plan focuses on three pillars: Advance, Engage, and Invest. We encourage you to read the full strategic plan on the school website. ADVANCE aims to enhance the quality of education and leadership formation at Sacred Heart Greenwich. This includes aligning the curriculum and pedagogy to ensure ongoing relevance and cohesion between divisions and integrating service learning and cocurricular opportunities. The school will also reinforce standards of teaching excellence, design support mechanisms for student development, and commit to inclusive practices to promote equity in learning for every student. Additionally, the plan aims to articulate student outcomes and philosophy of learning, develop unique assessments, and commit to innovative practices. ENGAGE aims to cultivate meaningful relationships with community members and the wider world for learning, service, and leadership. It commits to inclusivity and belonging, attracting a broad

community of students, families, faculty, and staff, and fostering experiences that promote belonging for all. It creates structures of feedback to assess climate and culture, builds community alliances beyond campus, and partners with alumnae and families to build an ecosystem for learning. It also cultivates and strengthens relationships between and across Sacred Heart Network schools to expand opportunities for learning, growth, service, and cultural immersion experiences. INVEST aims to allocate resources effectively to support our mission and vision; to foster a diverse and dynamic student community and recruit, support, and develop talented educators; and to design innovative programs and versatile campus spaces that support the focus on leadership skills, spiritual formation, and intellectual development. In addition, our investment aims to cultivate a lifelong commitment to the Sacred Heart Greenwich mission, align financial resources to support the vision, and advance investment through engagement, development, and enrollment strategies.

Letter from Our President & Board Chair Dear Sacred Heart Greenwich Community, Our mission, vision, and values call us to continue to provide an exceptional education and experience for both our students of today and for the generations of students to come. Our Goals and Criteria remain at the heart of our new, five-year strategic plan, Pursuing Excellence. Through a faith-based education within a strong community, the pursuit of excellence and personal growth came to life across the school this past year. Here are just a few examples: › Our Sacred Heart Greenwich community lived with faith, courage, and confidence. Students, educators, parents, and alumnae actively participated as learners and as leaders. › Our girls and young women tackled challenges, built skills, and advocated for change as they explored how best to lead, serve others, strengthen friendships, and care for the environment. › Barat children explored extensively in learning to play violin and chess. In keeping with a Reggio-inspired philosophy, which encourages teachers to listen to children for inspiration, students encountered bees on a Mustard Seeds walk which led to a study of honeybees. › Lower School students confidently learned and shared newfound ideas through hands-on exploration during their capstone projects, media studies program, and gardening in the new greenhouse. › Middle School students showcased their perspectives through research projects, applications, and expressive artwork; deepened their understanding about health and wellness; performed the engaging musical Once Upon a Mattress; and broadened their learning through school excursions. › Upper School students honed their leadership qualities and styles in the new Leadership Academy; won awards for work in the sciences, writing, filmmaking, art, and athletics; delighted the community with performances of Our Town and Anastasia; benefited from the development of a Humanities Hub; and competed in an expanded Chess Club. › Faculty embraced professional learning opportunities to expand their innovative teaching. › Alumnae celebrated their lifelong sisterhood and shared valuable experiences and expertise with current students.

Thank you to everyone who partnered with Sacred Heart Greenwich by serving as a school leader, volunteer, mentor, ambassador, donor, and engaged community member! This report reflects the generous love and commitment exhibited by the robust Sacred Heart Greenwich community. By raising over $2.34 million for the Fund for Sacred Heart and over $3.48 million in total for our beloved school, you advanced our mission, thereby enabling transformative student and community experiences. Cor Unum—one heart, one mission, one school community—will guide our journey of pursuing excellence as we focus on our strategic pillars: Advance, Engage, and Invest. New Trustees for 2023–2024 Sam Chawla P’29, ’32

Ann Jablonski, RSCJ

Sam Chawla is a portfolio manager at Perceptive Advisors and a member of the investment committee for the credit opportunities funds at Perceptive. Previously, he was managing director in the Healthcare Group at UBS Investment Bank. He also serves as a member on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. Sam serves on the Finance Committee of Sacred Heart Greenwich. He holds a BA from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from Georgetown University. Sam and his wife, Stephanie, live in Greenwich with their children, Chloe ’29, Siena ’32, and Ryder.

Ann Jablonski, RSCJ, is a member of the core team for Sophie’s Well: A Center for Sacred Heart Spirituality. She retired from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 2010 where she was an associate professor in the Department of Education. She was also a contributing faculty member at St. John’s University in Queens, New York; Immaculata University in Pennsylvania; Walden University, in Baltimore; and Kisubi University in Uganda. She has taught in Sacred Heart schools and has been a trustee in the Network. Sister Jablonski has authored scholarly articles in her field. She graduated with a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts, a MEd in Counseling/Psychology from Boston College, a Master’s in Educational Administration and a PhD from Fordham University. Sister Jablonski resides in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Mary Jo Dyer P’26 Mary Jo Dyer served as a managing director at Merritt Capital Investment Advisors and as a vice president at TD Securities, focusing on the media and telecommunications industry. Mary Jo is an active volunteer at her parish where she serves on the finance council and as youth group coordinator. She also serves the Diocese of Bridgeport, volunteering on several committees including the finance council. Mary Jo and her husband, Rob, chaired the Fund for Sacred Heart from 2021 to 2023. Mary Jo has volunteered as a class parent and member of the Welcome Committee for new students. She served as vice chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee in 2022-2023 and will serve as chair in 2023-2024. Mary Jo holds a BA from the College of William and Mary and an MBA from Georgetown University. The Dyers live in Darien, have one daughter, Janie ’26, and three sons, Teddy, Jake, and Thomas.

Colleen Micciulli-Foley P’15, ’17, ’19, ’28, ’30 Colleen Micciulli-Foley is an ardent volunteer and supporter of Sacred Heart Greenwich. She has chaired Come Home for Christmas, served on the Education to Mission and the Fund for Sacred Heart committees, and acted as a Parents’ Association class parent. Colleen grew up in Staten Island and now lives with her husband, Thomas, in Rye, New York. They have five daughters, Alexandra Foley ’15, Emily Micciulli ’17, Sara Micciulli ’19, Katie Foley ’28, and Shannon Foley ’30, and a son Thomas Foley, Jr.

Kelly McKeown P’25, ’28, Parents’ Association President Kelly McKeown is the founder of Dune & Moon, an interior design and renovation management firm. Previously, she enjoyed a successful career in corporate public relations in New York City and Boston. Kelly is deeply engaged in the life of Sacred Heart Greenwich, having served on the Parents’ Association (PA) Board since 2020-2021, as PA hospitality chair 2019-2020, and as PA class parent 2018-2019. She currently sits on the Board of Directors at Noroton Yacht Club, and previously served on the Darien Nature Center Board in many capacities, including as president from 2012 to 2014. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University and attended New York School of Interior Design. She and her husband, Paul, reside in Darien with their children, Caroline ’25, Grace ’28, and William.

Board of Trustees 2022–2023 Vicky Rajca, RSCJ Vicky Rajca, RSCJ, is director of finance and operations for the Stuart Center for Mission in Washington, DC. She has worked in the Network of Sacred Heart Schools for the notfor-profit sector as a teacher, a chief financial officer, and director of operations. She has also served on several Sacred Heart School Boards of Trustees, as well as on the Finance and Investment Committees of the Society of the Sacred Heart, United States-Canada Province. Sister Rajca holds a MSA in Financial Administration from the University of Notre Dame. She lives in Washington, DC.

Margarita Granados Sawhney ’88 (Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart) P’24 Margarita Sawhney serves as a trustee of POTS (Part of the Solution), Hot Bread Kitchen, and Parish Council Church of St. Augustine, and formerly was trustee at The Masters School. Previously, she worked as a software designer, developer, and technology consultant. She is on the Buildings & Grounds Committee and the Institutional Advancement Committee at Sacred Heart Greenwich. Margarita holds a BSBA in Finance from Georgetown University and a MBA in Finance and International Business from University of Miami. She and her husband, Vik, live in Larchmont, New York, and have three children, Samantha ’24, Sabrina, and Sebastian.

Year in Review SEPTEMBER Sacred Heart Committee on Goals and Criteria launches our deep reflection on our Mission. Mr. Michael F. Baber installed as President and seniors commissioned as Eucharistic Ministers.

OCTOBER Celebration of the Heart community dinner showcases student achievements and community spirit. Heart Homecoming, Reunion & Alumnae Career Morning. Feast of Mater Admirabilis is celebrated with Upper and Middle School Mother-Daughter Liturgy and fourth grade Mater Chapel. Sophomores received their Mater medals.

NOVEMBER Upper School performs Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. 100+ people honor Goal IV at schoolwide Community Day of Service supporting Bedford Hills Women’s Correctional Facility. Middle and Upper School Father-Daughter Dances, a beloved tradition supported by the Parents’ Association, has a fun Pixar theme.

DECEMBER Lower School students present capstone projects spanning prehistory, dinosaurs, ancient Egypt, Mesoamerica, and ancient Greek culture. Leadership Academy for Upper School students launches speaker series with Ms. Sharon Greenberger, CEO and President of the Greater New York YMCA. Come Home for Christmas and Christmas Eve Mass community celebration.

JANUARY Jenny D. ’23 named Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar for her app connecting Latinx community with health care providers. Four seniors—Charlotte G., Isabella L., Katie M., and Robin M.—win “Best High School Experimental Design” in the Plant Mars Challenge competition for improving soil to grow crops. Alumnae, parents of alumnae, and school President Michael F. Baber reconnect at California receptions. All-school composting program launches to produce soil for our community garden.

Middle School students perform Once Upon a Mattress.

Students’ artwork exhibits at the Westport Moca and the Katonah Museum of Art. Alumnae Give From the Heart for Financial Aid event raises a record-breaking $109,364 from 278 donors across nine decades.

MARCH Lower School students, as part of World Languages Week, “travel” the world to learn the sites, traditions, and foods of 12 countries. Upper School students perform Anastasia.

APRIL 15 members of the Class of 2023 are inducted into the Cum Laude Society. Sacred Heart Greenwich is certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, one of only three schools in the country to receive this designation, recognizing our strong commitment to sustainability and stewardship in environmental planning, wildlife, water, resources, and education.

Second graders’ First Holy Communion. Green & White Gala, with a Key to the Heart theme, celebrates community and nets over $500,000 for endowment and our Leadership, Health, and Wellness program. Seniors receive passports as an induction into the international Sacred Heart alumnae network.

JUNE Class of 2023 Graduation. Our community raises a record-breaking $2.3+ million for the 2022-2023 Fund for Sacred Heart.

Green & White Gala 2023 At the biennial Green & White Gala, approximately 400 guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner by celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian, dancing to the Pete Saunders Band, a silent auction, and spirited bidding on unique experiences and items. Gifts to the ENDOWMENT

Gifts to the Endowment We are humbled by the many dedicated donors who committed to our endowment this year, demonstrating their belief in our mission and vision for the future by leaving their legacy at Sacred Heart Greenwich. The endowment value, as of June 30, 2023, was $43.5 million. Our community’s generosity has supported +20% growth in endowment over the past five years. Gifts made to endowed funds during the 2022-2023 fiscal year are recognized below each named fund. The Sacred Heart Greenwich Investment Committee, partnering with our outside, independent investment manager, oversees our endowment, with decisions consistent with the investment and spend policies approved by the Board. Members of the Investment Committee, drawn from our broad community, meet regularly to share their deep investment expertise and to review and ensure compliance of our investment policy and strategy, endowment performance, and asset allocation.
