We do something, but we can dream of everything.
To give people who like to dream, or hope their dream come true, or want to escape from reality.
Taipei city is where I born and where I grew up. With the theory, I want to discover other way to create different life experience in city.
'Cause I'm here alone
Just dancin' with my eyes closed

Masking emotions deliberately for the sake of perfect image.
For those people who got smiling depression, they masking emotions deliberately for the sake of perfect image.
They looks like normal people, or, in other ways, they act like a normal people, because of work requirements, the need for politeness, or responsibility. But when they come alone, they bring their emotions to vent.
So they need a shelter to escape.
The site I choosed is located within a park near the Nangang Station. This is not only involves the concept of “stay or leave,”but also provides various transportation options, for those who want to explore different destinations.
In the park, I want to create an environment that isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a place where individuals can linger, reflect, and find a moment of serenity in this natural setting, away from the busyness of the city.
I aspire to create a concealed sanctuary within the city, serving as a haven for individuals to escape reality and temporarily liberate themselves from the pressures and anxieties of daily life. This space is designed to offer both breif moments of respite and extened stays, resembling a hidden haven away from the hustle and bustle of the urban environment, providing a momentary sanctuary for the soul.
In this project, various pathways and secluded corners are employed, allowing people to wander as if navigating through a misty forest, seeking out the spaces they personally find safe and relaxing. Therefore, the utilization of the space if unrestricted, granting everyone the freedom to experience and embrace the tranquility offered by this unique haven.
You seem a little bit down. Wanna talk?
Before entering the “stay”space, we pass through a staircase platform that serves as a guiding entrance, whice is a Story Exchange Station, to share their stories or inner feelings. The compantionship derived from such sharing may bring a warmer feeling, allowing individuals to experience a sense of heartfelt connection.
In this project, I have created multiple secluded and sheltered corners and spaces.
In today's busy and stressful life, people yearn for a place where they can relax, unwind, and contemplate. These small, tranquil areas have become ideal places for individuals to spend extended periods, offering spaces for mental healing.
With my eyes closed, a shelter you can stay...

Is like Paris in the rain

Lauv- Paris in the Rain
The gloomy atmosphere triggers feelings of melancholy and loneliness.
On rainy days, accompanied by the misty sky, damp environment, and the pattering sound of rain, a tranquil atmosphere is formed, which at times may evoke a sense of heaviness.
In such an ambiance, people can easily feel a sense of solitude, prompting a desire to seek refuge in bright and cozy surroundings for a while.
The Rainbow Bridge, Near Raohe Street Night Market
The site is located on the Rainbow Bridge over the Keelung River, adjacent to the bustling Raohe Street Night Market, situated at the crossroads between Songshan and Neihu districts.
By choosing this location, my design aims to resonate with the Keelung River and create a distinctive atmosphere at the city's juncture, providing a transitional and resting space.
As background noise, white noise creates a singular frequency layer, mitigating the silence in the environment and providing a sense of companionship to alleviate feelings of loneliness. Simultaneously, through the design of a glass bridge, the presence of mist on rainy days genderates blurry visuals, complemented by ambient sounds, creating an atmosphere where individuals feel immersed in a relatively private space. This allows for a tranqual appreciation of the unique scenery brought by rainy days.
Such a design enables individuals to experience a reduction in feelings of loneliness within a natural setting. In this intimate space, people can immerse themselves in the distinctive charm of rainy days, feeling somewhat secluded from the outside world and dedicating their attention to the urban landscapes unveiled by the rain.
As a bridge connecting two different regions, this space serves not only as a throughfare but as a convergence point for encounters between the two locales. The bridge, functioning as a “pass by” environment, is simultaneously imbued with the significance of serendipitous meetings.
In this environment, people weave past each other, creating moments of fleeting connections, whether in the hurried pace of thier strides or in quiet moments of pause. This place becomes not only a gateway to different territories but also a confluence for diverse life trajectories.
With it’s distinctive geographical location and purpose, this bridge not only facilitates connections between regions but evolves into a splendid space where individuals may chance upon one another during their journeys. It carries the potential for serendipitous encounters, exchanges, and the sharing of stories.

To show the reflection while in the rain.
In the rainy day, it might brings different color and emotion. Through variety kinds of texture and surroundings that lead us to immerse in the space, to reflect the light, the color, and ourselves.
Immerse in rain, enjoy Taipei City.
Midnight memories
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Baby, you and me
Stumblin' in the street
Singin', singin', singin', singin'
Midnight memories
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Anywhere we go, never say no
Just do it, do it, do it, do it
Create scenarios, with different situation, angles and compositions of the shots.
Whenever I find myself alone in the night, a cascade of everyday scenes floods my mind: moments of joy, fleeting instances, and nostalgic memories.
These recollections may have unfolded at the same moment or different times, weaving together to form a vital part of my life. Simultaneously, they are firmly intertwined with the city's myriad details, creating a profound connection to the urban landscape.
People have distinctly differently rhythms in their daily lives during the day and night, and the unique aspect of this design lies in its creation as ann all- day venue. It serves as an ordinary market and bazaar during the day, transforming into an immersive experience that combines music and visuals at night.
The nighttime ambiance exudes a sense of solitude, and during solitary moments, individuals often reminisce about past memories. This project transforms memories into visuals, introducing the concept of imagery to shape the images from memories, spaces, and everyday life. It delivers a unique nighttime experience for each individual. The transformation of this space not only presents vastly different apperances between day and night but also, through the fusion of memories and imagery, creates and immersive atmosphere.

On a quiet midnight, a protagonist strolls through memories. The music, through it’s melody and lyrics, delineates their inner emotions, with each note serving as a chapter in their midnight reminiscence.
Through the interweaving of music and visuals, each melody, every lyrics, and each scene becomes an emotional release, immersing the audience in the narrative of the musical journey.
The duration is approximately one to one and a half hours.
In the corridor, every fleeting interplay of light and shadow present a rich and ever-changing tableau in the space.
As people traverse through, the artful play of light creates residual images of the flowing crowd on the glass ahead. These distinctive visual moments not only engage people’s visual senses but also bestow upon the entire space a unique artistic ambiance.
After traversing the corridor, I arrived at the record store, leisurely selecting my favorite vinyl. Immersing myself in the music, melodies, and lyrics, I carefully relished each note.
Through these choices, I artfully reconstructed a musical ambiance in my soul based on the images etched in my memories.
Within the melodies reconfigured from memory’s images, there undoubtedly hides the shadow of one’s unique story. Ut may be a desire to convey feelings to others or a wish to forever preserve this segment of one’s own narrative.
However, as the clock strikes five in the morning, the dream-like immersive experience comes to an end at that very moment, and life resumes it’s normal rhythm.

Through the way into the market, the significant changes will bring you out of empty.
one- way street, both locals
The bus route is a and tourists frequently take the bus to reach the place.
After getting off the bus, most tourists walk towards the direction of the park.
There are around 67% closed stalls in the market, and most of them are in the middle of the market. Because the market is a linear route, the vendors in the middle are not easy to reach, and the entrance from Sheling Temple to the market is very narrow.
market dead space public toilet temple
◦ The relationship between vendors and locals.
There are some stores on the first floor of the building, but they don’t have any relationship with the stand in front of them.
There are very few people will come to the market, so the vendors have lots of time to chat with each other or the local customer.
◦ The attitudue of vendors toward foreigners. Most of the vendors do not accept foreigners to ask about their life. They tend to maintain the status they already have instead of getting new thinds.
◦ The empty stand is getting more.
As the vendors are getting old or even pass away, without young people to live in, more and more stands become empty, people have to walk a little distance till the next stand. The incompleteness of the dilapidated roof enables light to enter indoors, unexpectedly causing significant changes in brightness within the market.
A cycle can be established between local residents, street vendors, and consumers.
Plants cultivated by local restidents can be sold to street vendors for cooking or directly to tourists.
Street vendors can then sell prepared food to consumers, creating a symbiotic coexistence.
This is a part of the design that the roof of the building could have some holes, so that the sunlight will be able to light up the inner space.
In addition, the greenery could be not only on the roof top outside but could also penetrate the interior walls and make a nice shadow,
There had some planting activities nearby the site, however in nowadays, market is only for trading, many stalls are even none using. To improve the situation, we decide to delete some stalls and set up planting space.
We don’t want the green belt space to be used just for some flowers and trees. So we hope to combine some actual activities to spice up the atmosphere of users and the space.
To solve the dark state of the market, there have three methods to increase the light.
• Raise the height of the roof.
• Remove empty spaces to bring in light.
• Increase the entrances and exits to the houses and the temple.
We want to utilize the abandoned houses nearby the site to integrate the market and the surrounding for creating more interesting spaces between it.
The vendors will be splitted by selling different kinds of items they sold.
Keelung is a rainy city, so we thought we could collect the rain and reuse it wisely.
The rain water will flow down through the roof, and will be collected by a greenery container. Water may go down to different level to fertilize those plants. Finally, the water will flows to be a little side ditch to keep the market clean.
The material of roof we design is made by punched plate, glass, and film material.
Plants can attach to the punched plate, glass can transparent to allow foe more sunlight, and film material can be also used for lighting purposes.
