Summer Invitational 2025
The Summer Invitational at Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art is our annual celebration of new work by gallery artists and a chance to spotlight new voices from the Kansas City region. This year’s exhibition brings together painting, photography, ceramics, and mixed media in a lively cross-section of contemporary art practices.
We’re pleased to debut works by Kate Breakey, Celina Curry, Jackson Daughety, Elise Gagliardi, and Michael McCaffrey, artists new to the gallery who bring fresh perspectives and strong connections to the Kansas City area. Alongside these introductions, the exhibition features new pieces by gallery artists Ky Anderson, Marcus Cain, John Ferry, John Louder, Annie Helmericks-Louder, Judy Onofrio, Mark Pack, Andy Ryan, Mary Ann Strandell, and Maura Wright.
Together, these works offer a dynamic glimpse into the evolving conversations taking place in contemporary art today. They are rooted in place, layered in meaning, and alive with material experimentation. This catalog offers a preview of the works on view, but we invite you to visit the gallery to experience them in person. There’s no substitute for seeing the scale, surface, and presence of the work firsthand.
