Carol Wiget is a wife, mother of four and Scouting America professional dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders. Born in Texas and raised on a horse ranch in New Mexico, she has proudly called Alabama home for the past 12 years. A woman of deep faith and service, Carol spent more than ten years in youth ministry and eight years volunteering with Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA before becoming the Shelby District Executive for Scouting America. In her role, she partners with schools, I have been an area manager at FirstBank’s Greystone Financial Center for a little more than 2 years and have been with FirstBank for almost 5 years. I have worked in the financial world the second go round since 2012 with a total of 23 years experience. I have held a variety of positions with FirstBank and other financial institutions throughout my career. Before returning to the banking world, I spent 20 years as a stayat-home mom, dedicating that time to raising my three children. My husband, Chuck, and I will celebrate 45 years of marriage in a few months and are proud parents and grandparents. I enjoy working with FirstBank because of the way they value their customers and employees. I am proud to be
businesses and community organizations and volunteers to create opportunities for young people to grow in character, leadership and citizenship. When she’s not working with Scouts, Carol enjoys reading, spending time at the beach and taking neighborhood walks with friends. She also shares her home with an Australian Shepherd named Buddy, a bearded dragon named Clay, and two tarantulas, Shelob and Aragog, whose names are always great conversation starters.

Besides working for FirstBank and being a Shelby County Chamber Ambassador, I am also on a committee to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude has a special place in my heart! I am honored to be named Ambassador of the Month and am grateful for the opportunity to serve the community that I have lived in for 39 years through FirstBank.

TSCC October “Community Luncheon” Features “State of Our Schools Throughout Shelby County” The Chamber’s October Community Luncheon—presented in 2026 by Avadian Credit union and hosted by the Chamber’s Career Readiness Work Group—is scheduled to feature presentations from Alabaster City Schools, Hoover City Schools, Pelham City Schools and Shelby County Schools during the annual “State of Schools Throughout Shelby County.” The Community Luncheon will be held on Oct. 1 in the banquet hall at the Grande Hall at Old Mill Square in Columbiana. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for business networking including showcase tables and the program will begin promptly at 11:40 a.m.
