Dean Troutman of Princeville is pictured at a farm east of Morrison and the Interstate 88 exchange on Friday, June 23. Troutman is trekking 350 miles for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and his route took him on Illinois 78 through Morrison and Prophetstown over the weekend. Morrison Police Chief Pedro Valladares offered to buy him a motel room in town, but Troutman said it was over a mile off his route, so he chose to sleep under a maple tree in Morrison instead.
