Delhotal & Fevold Mr. & Mrs. Matthew Fevold Eva Marie Delhotal and Matthew Paul Fevold were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. June 27, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon. Pastor Frank Langholf officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Barb and Jim Delhotal of Amboy. The groom is the son of Jo EvertsLundberg of Farnhamville, Iowa, and Paul Fevold of Gowrie, Iowa. The bride was given away by her father. She wore a white, strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline, beading on the bodice, and a chapel-length train. Her veil was handmade by Cindy Thompson, a good friend of the bride. It was cathedral length with hand-stitched beading on the edging! She also wore a pearl necklace given to her paternal grandmother on her wedding day by her groom 62 years ago on the very same day, June 27. The bride carried a festive, colorful bouquet of seasonal summer flowers. It was made of hot pink gerbera daisies, Sonia roses, purple stock, purple lisianthus, lavender stock, and green hypericum. The entire ensemble was accented with “glitzy” shades of purple, teal, and lime green. The attendants carried a slightly smaller version of the bride’s bouquet with green hydrangea added for a very romantic look. All flowers were done by Stephanie Dusing of Behrens Floral, a friend. Serving as maids of honor were Marissa Delhotal of Denver and Jocelyn Delhotal of Amboy, both sisters of the bride. They wore strapless, purple dresses with purple beading across the top. The bridesmaids wore one-shoulder dresses in the same color of purple as the maids of honor. The bridesmaids were Sarah Reynolds of Rockwell City, Iowa, sister of the groom; and Sarah Knoploh of St. Louis, Catherine Kautt of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Kristin Mattes of Onalaska, Wisconsin, all friends of the bride. The best man was Aaron Alliger, of Gowrie, Iowa, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Luke Nelson of Ankeny, Iowa, Scott Johnson of Dayton, Iowa, Jesse Green of
Harcourt, Iowa, and Dave Welter of Gowrie, Iowa, all friends of the groom; and Adam Reynolds of Rockwell City, Iowa, brother-in-law of the groom. Serving as personal assistants were Natalie Jaskie of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Tara Mackey of Dixon, Emily Reiss of Austin, Texas, and Emily Tolentino of Columbia, Maryland, all friends of the bride. Ushering the event were Bret Wierson of Roeland Park, Kansas, and Josh Tvrdik of Kansas City, Kansas, both friends of the groom. The flower girls were Brylee and Brinlynn Alliger of Gowrie, Iowa, friends of the couple. Serving as ring bearers were Finn and Ryder Sommers of Crystal Lake, cousins of the bride. The organist was Barb Wiggins of Dixon, and the vocalists were Taylor Hulting, friend of the bride, and Joel Spangler. Musical selections included “Canon in D,” “Trumpet Voluntary,” “The Marriage Prayer,” and “When I Say I Do.” The reception was at Rock River Golf and Pool in Rock Falls. The hosts and hostesses were Sue Welty of Dixon, aunt and godmother of the bride; Bill and Cookie Warren of Seffner, Florida, friends and godmother of the bride; and Chris and Janet Noth of Davenport, Iowa, uncle and aunt of the groom. The bride is a 2006 graduate of Dixon High School and a 2010 graduate of Luther College. She is pursuing her master’s in special education and will graduate in May from the University of North Dakota. The bride is a special education teacher at Prairie Valley Elementary School in Farnhamville. The groom is a 2003 graduate of Prairie Valley High School and a 2005 graduate of Iowa Central Community College, with a major in agricultural business. He is an integrated solutions manager at K.C. Nielsen, Ltd. in Humboldt, Iowa. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, visiting three islands – Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island of Hawaii. They live in Gowrie, Iowa.

Brian is a graduate of Oregon High School, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy and his Master of Science degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He is employed as a CPA by Wipfli, LLP, in the Madison office. They have enjoyed a trip to Door County, and will soon enjoy a trip to the Hawaiian Islands. The couple are at home in Madison.

Sterling Class of 1950 Reunion The Sterling High School Class of 1950 met for lunch for its 65th-year reunion Aug. 8, 2015, at the Candlelight in Sterling. This was the last class to graduate from the school when it was on Fifth Avenue between Fourth and Fifth Streets. Twenty-six classmates and 11 friends attended. They came from California, Chadwick, Decatur, Dixon, East Moline, Emerson, Grayslake, Morrison, Polo, Rock Falls, Sterling,
Walnut, and Wisconsin. The Rev. Warren Thummel gave the prayer, and Mary (Brandt) Stewart read a humorous article about how things have changed since 1950. After lunch, Wally Arthurs surprised the group with a short visit. The committee was Shirley (Humphry) Cheesman, Jean (Sonneman) Galloway, and Stewart. The next reunion will be April 13, 2016, for lunch at the Wagon Wheel in Sterling.

50th Anniversary On Oct. 29, 1965, Ronald Weidman and Evon Bruns were united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sterling. They are the parents of Debbie (Galen) Hart, Tim (Kim) Weidman, Dan Weidman, and Carrie King. They have five grandchildren, Stephanie, Emily, and Adam Hart and Tanner and Taylor Weidman. They also are blessed with two great-grandchildren, Addison and Jace Weidman. Ron drove truck for Hummel Feed while farming with his dad. He’s now retired from Daubert Coated Products and still farms with his family. Evon ran an in-home day care for many years. She now is retired from Eagle and Raynor Garage Doors. She enjoys attending her family’s activities and baking. They will celebrate with their family in October. They also will be traveling to Nashville in November. Share those special memories with Celebrations Celebrations features weddings, engagements, anniversaries, and other happy news, such as birthdays, reunions, and four- or five-generation photos. As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, halfor full-page announcements can be purchased. Paid announcements are determined by word count: no more than 125 words for a quarter page, no more than 250 words for a half page, and up to 340 words for a full page. Those paying for announcements will have the opportunity to proof them before publication. Customers will be called when the announcement is ready to be proofed. At that time, any corrections or additions can be made as needed at SVM’s Dixon and Sterling offices. For convenience, proofs will be emailed without calls whenever possible. Photos may be submitted in color or black and white, and in any size.
Emailed photos should be in JPEG format with a resolution of 200 and a width of at least 5 inches for best quality. All announcements can be printed without photos if desired. Celebration forms are available at the Telegraph and Daily Gazette classified departments or by email. Sauk Valley Media is not responsible for errors due to unreadable information. A daytime phone number and email address (if available) are requested to help to ensure accuracy. Weddings are available in basic (free) form (one photo only of the couple), quarter-page paid (one photo), half-page paid (two photos), and fullpage paid (up to four photos). The wedding form should be returned preferably within 2 to 4 months after the wedding date. Engagements are available in basic (free) form (one photo of the couple),
two styles of quarter-page paid (one photo only), half-page paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos). Anniversary announcements are available in the basic (free) form (one current photo only of the couple, no older than 5 years), quarter-page paid (one or two photos), halfpage paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos). Announcements beginning with the 25th anniversary, and then in 5-year increments up to 60 years, can be at no charge. Other increments will require a paid announcement. Anniversaries of 70 years and more are at no charge in a paid format; the announcement size will be determined by the editor. After 60th-year anniversaries, SVM will publish free announcements, without special wording, without the 5-year increment restriction. Birthday announcements for area seniors 80
years of age and older can be at no charge without special wording. There is a charge for those younger than 80. The basic (free) form (one current photo of the individual), quarter-page paid (one or two photos), half-page paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos) are available. For 100th and older birthdays, SVM will publish free announcements in a paid format; the announcement size will be determined by the editor. Reunions are for area residents who are gathering, or have gathered, for a family or class reunion. Reunion items will be edited due to space limitations, and lists of all those attending are not available in the free format. Photos also are not available for a free announcement, but can be used in any of the paid announcements. If a large group photo is submitted, only
one can be used in the quarter-page format, one photo is recommended in the half-page format, and up to four normally can be used in the fullpage format. Large group photos with long lists of names may require at least a half-page paid announcement. Note: A group photo for a class reunion only can be submitted at no charge for the Scrapbook page of SV Weekend by email to photos@saukvalley.com or in person. For publication in Celebrations, class reunions of 70 years and more will be available in the quarterpage format at no charge, with a photo allowed. Five-generation and four-generation photos with names, relationships, and places of residence of those pictured may be submitted for publication. Multiple photos from the same submitter will need to be on a paid basis. Generation announcements are, of course, available on a paid (cus-
tom) basis in quarterpage (one photo), halfpage (two photos), and full-page (up to four photos) form. Other celebrations include retirements, promotions, awards, honors, baptisms, confirmations, baby’s arrival (able to contain more information than standard birth announcements, along with a photo), and other occasions. Customers may purchase a quarterpage (one photo – two if space allows), half-page, (up to two photos) or fullpage (up to four photos) paid announcement in Celebrations on a custom basis.
