The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Behrens of Rock Falls. The bride is employed by Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison. The groom is a licensed plumber at Schmitt Plumbing in Dixon. The couple live in Rock Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Quick of Sterling celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 3, 2015. Gilbert Quick and Marilyn Helms were married Sept. 3, 1955, at St. Andrew Church in Rock Falls. They are the parents of Daniel, Bradley (Jennifer), and Randall (Rebecca), all of California; Gregory (Krista) of Sterling; and Amy (John) of Wisconsin. Jaquet Family Reunion The 88th Christian and Elizabeth (Metzner) Jaquet family reunion was Aug. 23, 2015, at Nims Park in Rock Falls. After a prayer and potluck dinner, the day was spent visiting and meeting family members. President Bill Wescott called the business meeting to order. He lit a candle in remembrance of the family members who died, and Sandra Jaquet Miller read a poem of remembrance. Sandra Miller gave the secretary, trea-
surer’s report. The officers elected were Craig Dimmick, president; Paul Jaquet, vice president; and Sandra Jaquet Miller, secretary, treasurer. The oldest female family member present was Alma Bohm, 91, and the oldest male was Lyle Wirth, 86. The youngest family member was Alexandria Hardman, 9. Patti and John Benson travelled the farthest from Iowa City, Iowa. The 89th family reunion will be Aug. 28, 2016, at Nims Park in Rock Falls.

Alice Lucille Buyers turns 100 years old on Oct. 20! She was born Alice Lucille Hawkinson on Oct. 20, 1915, and married Charles William Buyers on July 3, 1933. They were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sterling. She was employed by Chester’s Department Store in Sterling, and then worked as an assistant to the chiropractor, Dr. McCombs. Alice went back to school to get her LPN license and worked for Community Hospital in Sterling. She has one son, Brian; two daughters,

When Elinore Kugler of Dixon turned 80, her family planned a birthday party celebration. Elinore, who still leads an active life, previously wanted to skydive, but her children were concerned. Instead, Elinore decided to try the zip line at the Lutheran Outdoor Ministry Center in Oregon. According to Russ Senci, (pictured with Elinore) executive director of
LOMC, “It is the longest, single-span zip line in the Midwest (1,200 feet) with more than 110 feet of elevation change.” Elinore was surrounded with applause from family and friends as she landed safely. “It was fun and I would do it again,” Elinore said. Elinore has five children, 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Happy Birthday, Elinore!
