Mr. & Mrs. James Ivey Stephanie French and James Ivey were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 27, 2014, during an outside ceremony at the Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, Michigan. The Rev. Brian Tuttle offici-

ated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Steve (Beth) French of Machesney Park and Leslie (Heinz) Suppan of Ottawa. The bride also is the granddaughter of Harold and Geraldine French and John Rich,

all of Dixon, and the late Connie Rich. The groom is the son of James and Toni Ivey of Laingsburg, Michigan. The wedding had a 1920’s theme, and guests were encouraged to dress historically; in

addition, the couple drove off from the ceremony in the groom’s 1935 Auburn Boattail Speedster. The bride is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and

recently completed a residency in veterinary anatomic pathology. She is employed at Michigan State University. In her spare time, the bride is a Veterinary Corps captain in the Army Reserves.

The groom is a graduate of Laingsburg High School and is a senior small weapons technician for the Department of Defense. He also is a master sergeant in the Michigan National Guard.

of two sons, Jeffrey (Stacia) and William (Vickie), both of Amboy. They have four grandchildren, Garrett, Madison, Lauren, and Makenzie; and

three stepgrandchildren, Justin, Eli, and Mayson. Hank and Cindy have been in business in Amboy for the past 48 years. Hank also served as

Amboy mayor from 19932001. Cindy worked for Lutheran Social Services and Community Coordinated Child Care, retiring in 2003.

Richard and Susan Lawton of Sterling, and longtime residents of Dixon, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married April 24, 1965, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. After graduating from Northwestern University, Rich was hired by Dixon Public Schools where he went on to have a long career teaching and

coaching at Dixon High School. Susan also went on to teach for many years in Dixon at the elementary school level. They are the parents of two sons, Mike and Brad, and have four grandchildren. Mike resides in Dixon with his wife, Tracey, and children, Katie, 15, and Ryan, 14. Brad resides in Morris with his wife, Heidi, and children

Matt, 12, and Natalie, 10. After retirement, Rich and Sue have enjoyed traveling together and spending plenty of time at their grandchildren’s numerous events. They also love attending sporting events of all types including Chicago Bears and Northwestern Wildcat games. Rich is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time working on

family-owned property south of Dixon. Sue enjoys time with her close friends (many of which are former teacher colleagues) and, of course, going to Silver Lake in Wisconsin. On behalf of their family and friends who love and cherish them, congratulations and happy 50th, Rich and Sue! Sue and Rich currently reside at 53 Carriage Hill Road, Sterling, IL 61081.

As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, halfor full-page announcements can be purchased. Althaus of Sublette. They have 12 grandchildren. Bob formerly was the owner-operator of Cropmate Co. in Amboy, and Betty was his secretary before retirement. Isabelle “Belle” Long The family of Isabelle “Belle” Long of Dixon will host a reception to celebrate her 90th birthday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the Holloway Center at St. Patrick Church in Dixon. Belle Long was born May 24, 1925, and was married to Edward B. Long for 53 years before his death in 1999. Belle has lived in Dixon for 68 years and taught at St. Mary School for 21 years before retiring in 1990.

The reception is hosted by her six children and their spouses, Mary and Brent Shelton, Rita and Ray Martinez, Ellen and Mike Hetland, Martha and Keith Wolfe, Joan Long and Brad Andreozzi, and Jim and Linda Long; and Belle’s 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Retirement

Officer to retire It is with great honor that the family of Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jeffrey A. Henson would like to announce his retirement from the U.S. Army effective Oct. 1, 2015. His military career as a human resources technician started with basic training and advance infantry training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in January 1993, as a PV2. He has been stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Fort Riley, Kansas; Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland; Allied Forces North, Brunsuum, The Netherlands; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Alexandria, Virginia; Fort Carson, Colorado; and Human Resources Command,

Fort Knox, Kentucky. While on active service, Jeff served two tours in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. During his 22.5 years of service, the first 10 years were served as an enlisted soldier achieving the rank of E6, at which time he became a member of the Warrant Officer Corps and has achieved the rank of chief warrant officer 4. An official retirement ceremony will take place May 29, 2015, at Human Resources Command, Fort Knox. Congratulations and best wishes may be sent to 610 Marsha Lane, Rock Falls, IL 61071.

Four Generations

We are celebrating the matriarch of our family. Catherine LutherGrossman has spent many years as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was raised in Glasgow, Scotland, before making her home in the United States of America. She graduated from Sauk Valley Community College and was a nurse for many years, almost 20 of them at CGH before retiring. Mom has six children, 25 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
