The couple married on Oct. 11, 2014, in Rock Falls Danielle Jamae Patrice Gipson and Jeffrey Christopher Bertrand, both of Bloomington, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls. The Rev. Monsignor Thomas Dzielak, pastor, officiated at the wedding ceremony and nuptial Mass. The bride is the daughter of Ronald Gipson of Rock Falls and Patricia Olson of Sterling. The groom is the son of Jeffrey L. and Rebecca Bertrand of Pontiac. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a mermaid-style, ivory gown, featuring a chapel train. The gown had a deep V-neckline and illusion straps. Beaded lace appliqués detailed the bodice, the illusion straps, and portions of the skirt. A satin, ruched band accented the waist. She wore a waist-length, lace-edged, bridal veil attached to a pearl-inlaid headpiece. She carried a bouquet of burnt orange calla lilies, gold mums, and deep purple roses, wrapped in ivory, satin ribbon. The bride carried her mother’s rosary beads; she also chose to tuck her paternal grandmother’s rosary beads within her bouquet. She wore a matching set of pearl and diamond earrings and necklace, with the matching bracelet,

all gifts from her father. The bride also wore a specially-engraved, gold bracelet, given by her mother. On her right hand, the bride wore the wedding rings of her two paternal great-grandmothers, a family tradition. The matron of honor was Danielle’s cousin, Jessica Gipson Hoerner of Bloomington. The bridesmaids included Emily Sharboneau of Chicago and Cali Froeter Miles of Lyndon, high school friends of the bride, as well as the groom’s sister, Andrea Bertrand, of Silver Spring, Maryland. Cousins of the groom from Pontiac, Ava Bertrand and Simone Bertrand, were the junior bridesmaid and the flower girl, respectively. The bride’s personal attendant was Sarah Drey of Morrison, her college friend. The four bridal attendants each wore satin, eggplant-colored, A-line, V-neck, floor-length dresses, tied at the back, with ruching at the bodice, similar to the design of bride’s wedding gown. The junior bridesmaid wore a silver, A-line, floor-length dress. They each carried a rounded bouquet of orange mums and burnt orange roses, wrapped in platinum ribbon. The flower girl wore an ivory, lace, floor-length dress, with a silver sash and bow. She carried a decora-

tive basket of gold mums with silver ribbon. Jeff chose his high school friend, Brandon Smith of Bloomington, to be his best man. The groomsmen were Brandon Hoerner of Bloomington, friend of the couple; Jacob Willock of Pontiac, high school friend of the groom; and the groom’s father, Jeffrey L. Bertrand of Pontiac. The ring bearers were Evan Willock of Pontiac, friend of the groom, and Mason Hoerner of Bloomington, cousin of the bride. The guests were ushered by Brayden Everly of Sterling, cousin of the bride, and Travis Rutherford of Spring Valley, cousin of the groom. The groom and the two ring bearers wore black tuxedoes with silver, satin vests and ties, while the other men in the wedding party were dressed in black tuxedoes with eggplant-colored, satin vests and ties. The groom wore a burnt orange, calla lily boutonniere in honor of his late paternal grandfather. The other men had boutonnieres of yellow mums. Program attendants were Christine Howard Williamson of Laramie, Wyoming, sister of the bride, and Geraldine Wike of Rock Falls, great-aunt of the bride. Amy Kimmel of Sterling, cousin

of the bride, registered the guests. The organist was Marianne Hoffmiller of Rock Falls, the bride’s high school music teacher, with the vocal selections being performed by Anna Kurtz of Sterling. A dinner and dance for the couple, their families and guests, were at 4:30 p.m. in the grand ballroom of the Rock Falls Days Inn. Hostesses were Candy Gipson of Rock Falls and Kathy Walker of Prophetstown, aunts of the bride, and Amy Rutherford of Spring Valley, aunt of the groom. Danielle is a 2004 graduate of Sterling’s Newman Central Catholic High School. She graduated from Sauk Valley Community College, Dixon, in 2006. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009 from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa. She is employed in management at CVS Pharmacy in Bloomington. Jeff is a 2001 graduate of Pontiac High School. He received an Associate in Arts degree in 2006 from Heartland Community College in Normal. The groom is employed at Menards Home Improvement Center in Bloomington, as a commercial/contractor account manager. The newly-married Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey C. Bertrand reside in Bloomington.

She attended, and graduated from, Sauk Valley Community College, as an LPN in 1973-1974. The last 10 years of her career were at
