The grill grates should be brushed down after each and every usage to dislodge any remnants. Remove the burner protectors on a gas grill and scrub them down to remove caked-on grease and other food deposits, wiping any grime from the burners as well. Keep an eye out on how much debris is in the bottom of the grill. Scrape and scoop out any ash and food that has fallen through the grates. Wash down and rinse off any grease.
