Share those special memories with Celebrations Celebrations features weddings, engagements, anniversaries, and other happy news such as birthdays, reunions, and fouror five-generation photos. As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, halfor full-page announcements can be purchased. Paid announcements are determined by word count: no more than 125 words for a quarter page, no more than 250 words for a half page, and up to 340 words for a full page. Photos may be submitted in color or black and white, and in any size. Emailed photos should be in JPEG format with a resolution of 200 and a width of at least 5 inches for best quality. Celebration forms are available at the Telegraph or Daily Gazette
classified departments. Sauk Valley Media is not responsible for errors due to unreadable information, and a reprinting of the announcement may not be possible based on available space. A local daytime phone number is required. Weddings are available in basic (free) form, quarter-page paid, half-page paid, and full-page paid. The wedding form should be returned preferably within 2 to 4 months after the wedding date. Engagements are available in basic (free) form (one photo) and in two styles of quarter-page paid (one photo only). Other paid sizes also are available on a custom basis. Anniversary announcements with accompanying photos will be published
on a free or paid basis. Announcements beginning with the 25th anniversary, and then in 5-year increments up to 60 years, can be at no charge. Other increments will require a paid announcement. Anniversaries of 70 years and more are available at no charge. After 60th-year anniversaries, SVM will publish free announcements, without special wording, without the 5-year increment restriction. Birthday announcements with accompanying photos for area seniors more than 80 years of age can be at no charge without special wording. There is a charge for those younger than 80. Shepardson & McFadden Jorie Shepardson and Tyler McFadden were united in marriage June 8, 2013, in an outdoor ceremony at The Irish Cottage in Galena. Basil Conroy officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Richard and Betty Shepardson of Polo. The groom is the son of Tim and LuAnn McFadden of Rock Falls. Jorie was given in marriage by her father wearing his Marine Dress Blues. A bagpiper provided the music. Serving as maid of honor was Samantha Shepardson, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Brittany Hansen, friend of the bride; Sarah Cebula, sister of the groom; and Lora Noworatzky, cousin of the bride. The flower girls were Helen Wenger, cousin of the bride, and Tegan Rauser, cousin of the groom. Serving as best man was Elmer Justin Mast, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Andrew Steckling,
friend of the groom; Brian Cebula, brother-in-law of the groom; and Wade Shepardson, brother of the bride. Jorie, a graduate of Northern Illinois University, teaches math at St. Mary’s School in Sterling, works at Walmart in DeKalb, and is continuing her education at NIU. Tyler, a graduate of Illinois State University, works for K & B Transportation Co. in Rochelle. After a honeymoon trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple reside in DeKalb.

This gown’s neckline and hemline dictate the outerwear, according to Carrie Goldberg, associate fashion editor for Martha Stewart Weddings, and a sleeker style allows more room for a coat. A ball gown or a gown with a long train is the trickiest, but there’s a bubbling trend in ready-to-wear that works for weddings: satin evening coats.
