PROJECT TO INCREASE POWER OUTPUT Frost forms from discharged steam at the tops of the cooling towers at the Byron nuclear power plant as temperatures hovered at 1 degree on Jan. 21. The Lee County and Ogle County boards approved three ordinances to expand the boundaries of the Lee-Ogle County Enterprise Zone in preparation for three new projects, one of which will increase the power output at the Byron nuclear plant. Constellation plans to invest more than $355 million in the project, which is set to begin this year and last until 2029. Story on page 6.
