The Oregon Park District will begin its 60th anniversary celebration with the launch of a special Green Coffee Series at 9 a.m. Jan. 15. The gathering will take place at the Nash Recreation Center and will focus on reflecting on the past six decades of the Oregon Park District. Community members are invited to join Executive Director Erin Folk for an informal morning of conversation, storytelling and reflection. This session will explore the history of the Oregon Park District, including how and why it was formed and the role it has played in enhancing the quality of life in the community over the past 60 years. By JEFF HELFRICH jhelfrich@shawmedia.com Citing financial challenges, the Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce announced Dec. 4 that it suspended operations beginning Dec. 31. “This decision comes after several years of difficult financial challenges that have made sustaining our current business model increasingly difficult,” according to a community message from the Chamber’s board of directors. “We have made extensive efforts to reduce costs, including selling our building and relocating to Phelps Plaza, reductions in spending, limiting software expenses and reducing staff hours.” The Chamber’s office previously was located at 122 N. Fourth St. before relocating to the city-owned Sarah Phelps Plaza at 418 W. Washington St. earlier this year. According to the Chamber’s Dec. 4 statement, its board will stay in place and work through the process of restructuring, or potential closure and dissolution. The Chamber extended its appreciation to members, partners, ambassadors, volunteers and the area for their support. Next steps will be communicated directly with members and any dues collected for 2026 will be returned. “We have operated believing wholeheartedly in a future where the Chamber could thrive and serve this community with strength and stability, but our current business model appears to have increasingly less relevance,” according to the statement. “It is with regret that this suspension of operations must happen, but to have memberships that cannot be properly served is not an option.” In a Dec. 12 release, the Chamber said it will continue to meet regularly to evaluate potential restructuring options

The Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce announced Dec. 4 that it suspended operations. that could allow for a scaled-back operation, a refreshed structure or a different organizational model in the future. The Chamber is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit business association and does not receive government funding, and donations to 501(c)(6)s are not tax deductible. The Chamber has seen “a steady decline” in membership over the past several years and attempted a restructured membership model to rebuild sustainable income for 2026. Rising costs continued to outpace revenue, according to the release. The board will continue to share updates as it moves through the process. “The Chamber is a completely independent organization,” according to the release. “While it collaborates with local government, nonprofits and the business community, it is not a branch of local government, nor does it receive operational funding from it. The Chamber’s ability to function relies entirely on voluntary membership, sponsorship, and program support.” Oregon City Manager Darin DeHaan called the news of the Chamber suspending operations “devastating” and said the city is working with the Chamber’s board and director to figure out

ways to support Oregon-area businesses going forward. DeHaan said work is underway on reactive ideas, such as creating an informal organization to work with local businesses to find ways to support them as the Chamber did. “You hate to see a local Chamber close,” DeHaan said. “They were our liaison for our local businesses and made a great impact. They were always there for us, working on community events that drew tourism. In the past they helped us through COVID-19 and getting grant work done on behalf of businesses. They filled a vital role for our community. We’re sad to see them close their doors.” The Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce worked on organizing and facilitating events, business retention and development and more. DeHaan said that with Oregon being a tourism-focused economy, the city and the Ogle County Economic Development Corporation will do what it can to see that work continue in some fashion. Events organized by the Chamber included Oregon’s Candlelight Walk, and DeHaan said he fully expects that event to continue in coming years despite the

Chamber suspending operations. “They have a strong committee that works on that. I don’t see that going away,” DeHaan said. “We’ll work to help make sure it’s successful in the future. If there are ways that we can help with an overall marketing campaign on behalf of businesses, we’ll work closely with them to see if we can help with that. Chambers are strategically involved in entrepreneurial development and we have to figure out how we can continue to encourage entrepreneurial spirit here in Oregon and Ogle County going forward. The city will look at ways to do that.” Following the news of the Chamber’s suspension of operations, the Autumn on Parade board of directors released a statement saying it was saddened by the news and thanking the Chamber for its years of support. AOP assured the community that it is an independent organization and the fall festival will continue in coming years. The city rents space to the Chamber at the Sarah Phelps Community Plaza. DeHaan said the city has had discussions about the next steps for the space with the Chamber’s situation and wants it to remain community-focused and as an information hub. The Oregon city manager said the city will take whatever steps it can to help businesses amid the Chamber’s current situation. “Our businesses are our backbone, from employment to bringing in sales tax and having a nice variety for residents and people that come and visit our community,” DeHaan said. “Our businesses both large and small are vitally important to us and certainly the city is already scrambling to try to fill a large void without the Chamber in ways we can support that.”

The Ogle County Educational Cooperative and Chana Education Center recently announced that Lynn Kalnins has been chosen as the Illinois Principal Association Northwest Region Middle School Principal of the Year. “With 18 years of service in alternative education, Lynn has dedicated her career to supporting students who need it most,” according to a Chana Education Center news release. “She has served as building principal for two years and assistant principal for 11 at Chana Education Center following years of teaching at the

elementary, junior high and high school levels. This wide-ranging experience gives her a deep understanding of students’ academic and social-emotional needs.” Kalnins was instrumental in building Chana’s PBIS program and shaping the school’s foundational principles, fostering a culture grounded in respect, responsibility and student success. Trial for Stillman Valley man accused in 2016 deaths of ex-wife, son to begin Monday By EARLEEN HINTON Shaw Local News Network correspondent Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday for a Stillman Valley man charged with killing his ex-wife in 2016 and setting her home on fire with their 3-year-old son inside. Duane Meyer, 43, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated arson and one count of concealment of a homicidal death in connection with an Oct. 19, 2016, Byron house fire in which his ex-wife, Margaret “Maggie” (Rosko) Meyer, 31, was found dead. The couple’s 3-year-old son, Amos Meyer, who also was home at the time of the fire, later was pronounced dead at a Rockford hospital. Meyer has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and has been held in the Ogle County Jail since his arrest on Oct. 9, 2019. An effort by Meyer’s attorney, Christopher DeRango of Rockford, to postpone the January trial date was rejected by Ogle County Judge John “Ben” Roe on Friday, Jan. 2. DeRango filed a motion to continue on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and asked Roe at a status hearing to move the trial date due to the defense’s inability to locate a former

forensic scientist who had worked for the Illinois State Police and has since retired. DeRango argued that James Ercoli examined forensic materials from the home and that his testimony would be “material” to Meyer’s defense. He told Roe the defense did not know Ercoli had retired until they attempted to serve him with a subpoena on Dec. 18, 2025. He said attempts to serve Ercoli had been unsuccessful despite efforts and coordination with the crime lab in Joliet. Ogle County State’s Attorney Matthew Leisten argued against the continuance, telling Roe that the state would stipulate to the 2016 crime lab reports which would allow them to be presented to the jury as evidence. DeRango said he was unwilling to accept the state’s stipulation arguing that Ercoli’s live testimony would be essential to Meyer’s defense. In arguing against the continuance, Leisten said the victim’s family has a right to a timely trial and had been waiting since 2019 for the trial to start. He also questioned why the defense waited until mid-December to issue the subpoena if Ercoli’s testimony was critical to their case. DeRango said witnesses tend to forget

Roe said he would continue the motion hearing to Friday, Jan. 2, to give the defense two more days to try to contact Ercoli. On Friday, DeRango said Ecroli had yet to be served, arguing again for a continuance. “We’ve still not heard from him,” DeRango told Roe. Roe said he had considered all aspects of the case, reviewed case law and taken into account fairness to Meyer as well as the victim’s family.

“Given the totality of the circumstances I’m going to deny the motion to continue,” Roe said. DeRango replied that Roe’s decision would “severely handicap” the defense’s case. The jury trial originally had been scheduled for February 2025, but was delayed on a defense motion made by DeRango, who cited a heavy caseload as the reason for the continuance. In previous hearings, DeRango and prosecutors have said numerous cellphone records and data also will be part of the evidence presented. Maggie Meyer was a teacher at the Chana Education Center at the time of her death. She filed for divorce in 2014, and court records show the divorce was finalized in September 2016. Prosecutors have argued that their evidence will show Duane Meyer planned to end Maggie Meyer’s life. The defense has argued that text messages sent by Duane Meyer before the deaths were only part of a “contentious” divorce and not indicative of anything nefarious. Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday morning at the Ogle County Judicial Center in Oregon.

Rochelle man pleads not guilty to possessing images of child sexual abuse By EARLEEN HINTON Shaw Local News Network correspondent A Rochelle man pleaded not guilty Wednesday, Dec. 31, to possessing and intending to disseminate images of child sexual abuse. Matthew S. Robinson, 29, waived his right to a preliminary hearing, entered the not guilty plea, and asked for a jury trial while appearing with his attorney, Assistant Ogle County Public Defender Eric Morrow, in front of Associate Circuit Judge Russell Crull. Robinson is charged with dissemination of images of child sexual abuse and possession with the intent to disseminate images of child sexual abuse – both Class X felonies – and possession of child sex abuse images, a Class 2 felony. Morrow again argued for Robinson’s pretrial release, telling Crull that Robinson was asking to be released from cus-

tody so he could provide financial support for his family. “He does have five children. The mortgage is now past due because he has been unable to work while in cus- Matthew S. Robinson tody,” Morrow told Crull. “He is asking to be released so he can keep a roof over his family’s heads.” Morrow said Robinson could be released under very strict conditions – a similar argument he had made at Robinson’s court appearances Dec. 17 and Dec. 24. Assistant Ogle County State’s Attorney Matthew Leisten argued against Robinson’s release. During a Dec. 17 detention hearing,

Leisten said Robinson possessed and shared the images through SnapChat between July 25 and Dec. 16. Leisten said the girls depicted were under the age of 13. Leisten also said Robinson’s criminal history included a previous adjudication for a similar offense when he was a juvenile in another county. He said Robinson was listed as a sex offender after his juvenile charge was adjudicated. Crull denied Robinson’s pretrial release, agreeing with Associate Judge Anthony Peska’s previous rulings. Robinson was arrested Dec. 16 after Ogle County sheriff’s detectives executed a search warrant at his residence in the 10000 block of East South Woodlawn Road in rural Rochelle. Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said in a news release that the arrest was made after a lengthy investigation. He said Ogle County detectives were assisted by the Illinois Attorney

General’s Office. During a Dec. 24 hearing, Robinson was appointed the public defender’s office after a change in his employment status following his arrest. Defendants can request to be represented by the public defender’s office, but they must fill out a financial affidavit that a judge then uses to determine whether they qualify for the service. Robinson’s next court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 5. Class X felonies are punishable by six to 60 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with three years to natural life of mandatory supervised release. If convicted, defendants must serve 85% of their sentence and register as a sex offender upon their release. Class 2 felonies are punishable by three to seven years in prison with two years of mandatory supervised release to follow.

She retired from her position as clerk and recorder on Dec. 19. Cook began as a deputy clerk in 1998 and was chief deputy clerk before being elected clerk and recorder in 2016. “I worked at the Oregon Savings Center for a few years and always had an interest in working in a courthouse,” Cook said. “After a few years Rebecca Huntley promoted me to deputy clerk. In 2016 I ran for the position of clerk and recorder. I had some reservations about the responsibility and running for clerk and recorder, but a county board member convinced me to run.” The county clerk and recorder’s office has five major functions: serving as the clerk of the Ogle County Board and keeper of county records, being the county’s chief election officer, being keeper of vital records such as births, civil unions, marriages and deaths; computation of property taxes and redemption of delinquent taxes; and recording and maintaining all land transactions in the county. The county clerk also issues recreation, liquor and video gaming licenses for unincorporated areas of the county, provides legal registration of voters, supervises training of election judges, and pays all county bills from the general fund. “Tax extension is the trickiest part of the work,” Cook said. “That includes working with taxing bodies and budgets and bonds and more. That was always nerve-racking. I oversaw four employees in the clerk’s office and two in the recorder’s office.”

POLO HISTORY Betty Obendorf I always am amazed how quickly some people say goodbye to Christmas and look to the year coming next. I put up Christmas decorations early and hang onto them as long as I can into the New Year. I have been known to redecorate a tree a couple of different times before I take it down. I love Christmas. The weather also plays a big part at this time of year, and one wants to get all outside decorations put away before snow and ice become a problem. Our ground still seems to be soft enough to get things pulled up and tucked away for another year. I enjoyed having Pam come to Polo recently to visit the museum. The Raley family also came in after having a family gathering here in Polo during the holidays. Kevin and I showed them the newspaper reading table that is

now down at the museum instead of being upstairs at the Burns House. Everyone finds it very lovely and a wonderful antique. I only wish that I had asked Paul Graehling where he came across that many years ago. The plate on it says he donated it to the museum. I wonder where he found it. It now is displayed so nicely at the museum where people will see it. Kevin had all the Christmas stuff put away and now he is looking at the new cabinet in the veterans’ part of the museum and trying to figure out how to handle that piece of furniture. I am certain his ideas will be good, and the next time I stop by something clever will be put in place. After Pam and I visited with Kevin, Pam and I went shopping at Carol’s and the two antiques shops on Mason Street. I started my Christmas shopping for next year and found a cute train candy tin for Archer, since he is big on trains. It was a great afternoon of shopping until the fog started in and Pam needed to get on the road to head south.

As I write this, we are looking at 2026 and wondering what the year holds for each of us. For our family, there might be a wedding in the future, since Natalie is showing off a new ring on her finger. I am excited since this means another family gathering. Hopefully the Polo Historical Society will hear something soon about our application about the Underground Railroad. We need to get going on the book about the White Pines State Park. I also am working on a program on the Waterbury Family and need to get out all those papers. 2026 will be a busy year for us at the museum as we still move things about and start to get our meetings lined up. We have not planned anything for January, since weather usually is a problem. Hopefully by February we will have something lined up at the museum. Watch for us on Facebook and a Happy New Year.

2026 looks to be a busy year at museum

LOCAL NEWS BRIEF Senate Bill 642 was signed into law, creating Public Act 104-045, which increases the “maximum income limitation” for the Low-Income Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption. The change begins with the 2026 (payable 2027) tax year, increasing the maximum household income to $75,000 (from $65,000 for 2025 tax year payable 2026). Applications for the 2026 tax year will be mailed to all taxpayers who received the Low-Income Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption in 2025 tax year (payable 2026) by March 1. For first-time applicants, the form will be available on the Ogle County website, (oglecountyil.gov) or in the Supervisor of Assessments Office. Morris received the 2025 Community Champion of Ogle County award Dec. 11 at the Excalibur and Excelsior awards ceremony in Rockford. He joined Community Champion recipients from Boone, Stephenson, and Winnebago counties in being recognized for outstanding service and dedication to their communities. They were named alongside winners of the 2025 Excalibur and Excelsior awards, presented by the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois in partnership with the Northern Illinois Center for Nonprofit Excellence and the Rockford Register Star. Ubben is known for his role in founding the Mt. Morris Jamboree, a free summer concert series launched in 2011. Inspired by the historic Kable Concert Band’s 115-year tradition of weekly free performances, Ubben proposed the Jamboree idea to the Village of Mt. Morris 14 years ago. The village agreed to help fund the Friday night

As a result, the concerts have brought thousands of visitors to Mt. Morris every summer. Each week over the summer, the Jamboree spotlights regional and national bands playing classic rock, blues, bluegrass and eclectic jazz on the Warren G. Reckmeyer bandshell, located on the historic Mt. Morris cam-

pus square. The concerts, which are free to the public, have grown from a few hundred fans per week to a record-setting crowd of 2,500 – nearly matching the town’s population of 2,900. Ubben’s acceptance speech thanked nominator Sarah Gray, and supporters such as the Village of Mt. Morris, Kable Concert Band, local businesses and nonprofits, and the Encore Mt. Morris arts committee. He closed by plugging

“Friday Night Blues,” which he hosts on WNIJ radio, drawing laughter and applause. In addition to managing the Jamboree bands, Ubben solicits financial support, coordinates a rotating schedule of area nonprofits that sell food to raise funds, organizes food trucks, and oversees a farmers market during the weekly performances. The concerts are further complemented by art shows in the Encore Art Gallery and exhibits at the Mt. Morris Historical Museum, all located on the campus square, with crowds spilling into the streets to create a festive, street party atmosphere. Ubben’s contributions extend beyond the Jamboree. He performs in two bands and has been actively involved in community projects ranging from a historic fountain restoration to the annual Let Freedom Ring July 4th festival and the U.S. National Straw Sculpting Competition. His efforts have been praised for cultivating a sense of community, encouraging tourism, supporting local nonprofits and businesses, and helping to establish the town as a regional arts destination.

The contribution will help expand agricultural education opportunities for local students and educators. Melinda Colbert, AITC program coordinator, accepted the donation during a check presentation ceremony. The program provides free lessons, activities and resources to schools and teachers, connecting agriculture to their school curriculum. Ag in the Classroom is a statewide initiative that offers engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons to students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The program aims to deepen understanding of agriculture’s vital role in society and the economy. Leaf River man pleads not guilty to multiple charges after arrest for fleeing police By EARLEEN HINTON ehinton@shawmedia.com A Leaf River man has pleaded not guilty to two felony and three misdemeanor offenses stemming from a police chase between Byron and Leaf River. Zachary J. Popp, 31, entered the not guilty plea and demanded a jury trial after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday, Dec. 31. Popp is charged with the felony offenses of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer and possession of cocaine and the misdemeanor offenses of violating a condition of pretrial release, unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes or needles, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. All the charges stem from a Dec. 20 incident in which police say Popp refused to stop for deputies and drove over a curb and sidewalk in Byron before his vehicle was disabled east of Leaf River.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to check on a Ford Edge parked at a closed business in the 100 block of South Union Street in Byron at 10:53 Zachary J. Popp p.m. Dec. 20. Police said the vehicle immediately fled the location, driving over the curb and sidewalk, and diagonally entered the intersection of East Blackhawk Drive and South Union Street. Popp then traveled west on West Blackhawk Drive, disregarding the stop light at North Colfax Street and continuing west on Illinois Route 72 before the Edge eventually was disabled just east of Leaf River, according to police. The felony charges accuse Popp of refusing to obey a deputy, driving away at a “rate of speed at least 21 mph over

the legal speed limit” and possessing less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine. Two of the misdemeanor charges accuse Popp of possessing hypodermic needles and syringes and possessing a crack pipe. The other misdemeanor charge accuses Popp of violating a pretrial release condition from a domestic violence case in which he was ordered not to have any contact with Samantha Norup, 30, who was a passenger in his vehicle. Norup, also of Leaf River, was arrested on two active Ogle County warrants for battery and driving under the combined influence of alcohol, other drugs, or intoxicating compounds. She was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released after a Dec. 22 court appearance. Her next court hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Jan. 15. On Dec. 31, Assistant Ogle County Public Defender Eric Morrow told Associate Circuit Judge Russell Crull that

Popp wanted to seek drug addiction treatment. During a Dec. 24 hearing, Morrow argued for Popp’s release, telling Associate Circuit Judge Anthony Peska that Popp could live with relatives in Oregon, be confined to that home, and walk to his court hearings. Morrow said information he had gathered indicated that Popp has a “severe drug addiction” and wants to seek treatment. Assistant State’s Attorney Matthew Leisten said Popp should not be released from custody because he had violated a pretrial release condition in the pending domestic violence case and has a previous criminal record that includes burglaries and other offenses. Peska denied Morrow’s request for release and remanded him to the Ogle County Jail. Crull continued that detention following the Dec. 31 hearing. Popp is scheduled to appear in court again at 1 p.m. Jan. 28.

High school basketball scene coming into focus VIEWS Andy Colbert With holiday tournaments and much of the nonconference schedule out of the way, it is time for high school basketball teams to concentrate on conference action and shoot-outs. Then it is on to IHSA tournament action. In effect, basketball has three seasons, with a different emphasis on each. As we get into January, more will be revealed on how good everyone is. Thus far, there is quite a bit of parity between the 1A and 2A boys. Sterling Newman, which won both the Forreston and Warkins tournaments, is the only undefeated team in the area at 15-0. Under one of the best coaches in northern Illinois in Ray Sharp, the Comets traditionally know how to win close games. Over the years, Sharp has drilled mental toughness and smarts into his players. As a sign of this, Newman has single-digit wins over Eastland, Riverdale, Forreston, Byron and Galena.

The Comets aren’t overly talented or athletic but have put themselves in contention for a berth downstate in 1A. In the 1A sectional complex, Eastland, Dakota, East Dubuque, Scales Mound and Galena will have a lot to say in that as they have plenty of wins over 2A teams. Oddest is Eastland beating Rockford Lutheran twice by a point each time. Lutheran is 7-6, but should never be judged on its record as it usually plays the toughest nonconference schedule among smaller schools around here. The other private school in the Big Northern Conference, Rockford Christian, has yet to win a game this season. With all the hardcourt success enjoyed by the Royal Lions, that’s surprising. Or is it? Depending on who’s running the show, private schools can be really good or really bad. Rockford Christian has experienced leadership changes that have negatively impacted athletics. Enrollment also is down substantially. When Oregon coach Jarrett Reynolds played for Oregon, aggressiveness and hustle were his trademarks. That is rubbing off on this season’s team as the Hawks are demonstrating that style of play in racing off to a winning record.

Could this be the year that Oregon knocks off both Lutheran and Winnebago? No reason why it can’t. Without a dominant team in the area in 2A, it is difficult to forecast who has the best chance to advance out of the sectional. Right now, Byron (8-3) is the highest rated. Over the holidays, Oregon ventured to one of the hotbeds of basketball, Teutopolis, for a tournament. Although the Wooden Shoes put a licking on the Hawks, it was a chance to experience basketball culture in a different part of the state. And it is different, with the central and southern parts of Illinois having more history. For example, Teutopolis is No. 6 overall for most programs wins at 2,007. The leader is Centralia with 2,410. Collinsville, Quincy, Pinckneyville and Mt. Vernon are next. As expected, Chicago Marshall and legendary coach Dorothy Gaters leads the girls with 1,211 wins. Gaters also has more wins than any boys coach. Freeport (1,669 wins) is 41st in the rankings among area boys, while Byron (934 wins) is 24th for the girls. Close behind Byron is Sterling (892), which won the inaugural IHSA championship in 1977. On the wrestling mats, the LenaWinslow/Stockton co-op is flexing its

muscle, just like both schools did in football. It is ranked No. 2 in 1A, with another football power, Coal City, destroying everything in its wake in 1A. At the Abe’s Rumble in Springfield last week, Coal City beat No. 10 Oregon 71-4 and Le-Win 52-21. Compared to a couple of decades ago when the northwest part of the state ruled 1A wrestling, the level of competition is spread out more throughout the state. However, one would be hardpressed to find a tougher regional than the one at Byron with both Oregon and Le-Win battling for a sectional berth. Last year, Oregon defeated Le-Win to make the sectional, where it beat Newman to advance downstate for the first time since 2008. Speaking of football and wrestling being interchangeable, Immaculate Conception Catholic Prep is ranked No. 1 in 2A wrestling. Of the 14 weight classes, defending state champ IC Catholic has individuals ranked in the top five in all but one. That sounds more like a wrestling club than a high school team.

Isaiah Perez, Carson Benesh, Jordon Lowe and Kayden Cover all had six wins. Benesh and Perez both contributed five pins and Benesh added a technical fall.

Lowe had three pins and a forfeit and Cover had two pins, two forfeits, and a technical fall. Winning five matches were Jayden Berry with four pins and a technical fall and Jackson Messenger with three pins. Tyler Hendrickson and Jacksyn Windham both had four wins, including three pins and a forfeit. Jack Benesh also had four wins, three falls and a technical fall. Originally founded in France 30 years ago and hosted in the Netherlands for the past 26 years, The Cup has become the largest and most prestigious softball tournament of its kind in the world, with games broadcast to

nearly 30 countries. Shere and Hulstedt join top players from across the U.S. to compete against elite international teams from countries that previously have included Russia, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands. “It’s a true honor to have been chosen to play on a team representing the United States of America,” Hulstedt said. “I am so excited for this once-in-alifetime opportunity to not only play with and against some of the best players in the world, but also to be able to travel outside of the USA and to experi-
