Hilary Swank OF YELLOWJACKETS ON PARAMOUNT+ WITH SHOWTIME Q: Will Hilary Swank do another TV series? A: Yes, in fact, though she won’t be the nominal star — which might work quite well with her relatively new off-screen role as a mother of twins. The two-time Oscar winner has signed to do a recurring role in the forthcoming Season 3 of the acclaimed drama “Yellowjackets” on Paramount+ With Showtime. Details about her character hadn’t been revealed at the time of this writing, but with the nature of that show, it’s little surprise that those facts are being kept secret for the time being. There’s been some speculation that Swank might play the older incarnation of another of the soccer players who experienced a tragedy in their teens, giving the show its basis. That wouldn’t seem like too wild a guess, and it also would make it interesting to see who’s cast as the younger version of Swank in the flashback sequences. Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress and Christina Ricci will be among the returning stars ... and while it’s possible that Juliette Lewis might be seen again, that could be challenging, given what transpired in Season 2. “Yellowjackets” will be Swank’s first dramatic-series work since “Alaska Daily,” the ABC journalism show that aired during the 202223 season. While movies have remained her primary calling card — reaffirmed lately by “Ordinary Angels” and “The Good Mother” — she has been doing her share of work in the television and streaming spaces. Her other recent projects there have included Netflix’s “Away” and FX’s “Trust,” plus her voice was heard in multiple episodes of Netflix’s animated series “BoJack Horseman.”
