Mobile food pantry coming to Mt. Morris on Monday, March 29 Loaves & Fish Food Pantry in conjunction with the Northern Illinois Food Bank is hosting a Mobile Food Pantry on Monday, March 29, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. The truck will be located at Mt. Morris Moose Family Center, 101 Moose Drive, Mt. Morris. This mobile pantry, sponsored by Tyson, is open to any Ogle County resident. There will also be a Mobile Pantry on Tuesday, April 6 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Loaves & Fish Food Pantry, 409 W. Brayton Road. Loaves & Fish Food Pantry is open on the first and third Thursdays from 4:30 – 7 p.m.
Drive-through “Egg-stravaganza” for Mt. Morris children on April 3 The Evangelical Free Church of Mt. Morris invites the children of the community to its Drive-through Easter “Egg-stravaganza” on Saturday, April 3, from 10-10:30 a.m. Drivers and children are invited to “hop on over” to the Evangelical Free Church, located at 102 S. Seminary Avenue, at the intersection of Front Street and Seminary Avenue. Please stop in front of the church, where each child will be given a goodie bag. Goodie bags will include candy and other gift items suitable for children ages 2-12. There will be a perk for each driver, too! St. Mary’s Parish is again hosting an annual blood drive, held in conjunction with its Lenten Fish Fries, on Friday, March 26. The blood drive will be held from 1- 7 p.m. in the large room off of the dining area. “Because of COVID-19 blood supplies are low and we could really use your help,” said Gus Lamesch, St. Mary’s blood drive chairperson. “As usual we are doing this in conjunction with our St. Mary’s Oregon Lenten Fish Fries. Unfortunately it will be a drive thru Fish Fry this year, but you can come in to the Community Center for the blood drive. If you can’t make it, please help spread the word. Philip Labash is the most qualified candidate for president of Mt. Morris Village Board, based on his years of holding several volunteer positions and elected offices in the community. Labash has been a member of the Mt. Morris Economic Development Group, bring-
ing new businesses to town. He has held an elected position on the Mt. Morris Library Board managing finances for our library. He also as volunteered at Loaves and Fish food pantry, the Mt. Morris !ENCORE Group, and serves on the Mt Morris Library Foundation Board. Most importantly, Labash is in his third term as trustee on the Mt. Morris Village Board, serving as finance chairman and pres-
ident pro-tem, where he has helped create and manage the Tax Increment Financing District which has aided several current and new businesses in downtown Mt Morris.
