Welcome to the Lockport Chamber of Commerce Community Guide. It is our privilege to represent and support more than 250 area businesses that contribute to the strength, character, and continued growth of the Lockport community. This guide serves as a valuable introduction to both our Chamber members and the vibrant community they help shape.
Lockport is a city where rich history meets forward momentum. Rooted in its canal heritage and strengthened by a diverse and dedicated business community, Lockport offers an inviting environment for residents, visitors, and entrepreneurs alike. From small, family-owned businesses to established employers and professional services, local businesses are the foundation of our community and play a vital role in its success.
At the center of this business community is the Lockport Chamber of Commerce, committed to advocacy, promotion, education, and service. It is an exciting time to be a Chamber member, as we continue to create meaningful networking and promotional opportunities that help businesses grow and thrive. Signature events such as Old Canal Days, State of the City Presented by Mayor Steven Streit, the Chamber Golf Outing & the Annual Awards Dinner provide valuable visibility and connection for our members.
The Chamber is proud to reinvest in its members by offering digital advertising opportunities at no additional cost, helping businesses increase exposure while navigating an ever-changing marketplace. Through education programs and events, members gain insights, build relationships, and develop the tools needed to meet today’s business challenges.

Now more than ever, the Chamber’s role as a collective voice for business is essential. By working together, our members have a stronger presence with elected officials and community leaders as policies and regulations are considered. We continue to partner with local government and organizations to enhance quality of life throughout the city and region, particularly in the areas of economic development, workforce development and community development.
The Lockport Chamber of Commerce is a vital part of the ongoing growth taking place in the Lockport area. Our success is the result of collaboration among the Chamber Board of Directors, staff, elected officials, the City of Lockport, community partners, and—most importantly—our members.
We encourage you to explore the membership directory in the back of this guide and support the businesses that support our community. If you are a business owner, we invite you to consider joining the Lockport Chamber of Commerce. Membership information can be found online at www. lockportchamber.com. There is much to discover about your Chamber and the many opportunities available to help your business flourish.
The Lockport Chamber of Commerce will continue to advocate for pro-business policies and deliver innovative programming that fosters economic growth and a strong, connected community.

This summer will be especially meaningful as we proudly celebrate the Route 66 Centennial right here in Lockport. One of the highlights will be a truly one-of-akind public art experience: 22 custom car-bumper benches displayed throughout downtown. Each bench has been created by a local artist, blending creativity, history, and hometown pride while honoring Lockport’s place along the Mother Road. These benches will invite residents and visitors alike to slow down, take a seat, and enjoy our downtown in a whole new way.
On behalf of the City Council and myself, thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are building a vibrant future while honoring the history that brought us here. I look forward to seeing you downtown this summer as we celebrate Route 66, support local businesses, and enjoy all that Lockport has to offer.
Sincerely,
MAYOR STEVE STREIT

Strength in the housing and retail sector continue to drive economic development in Lockport.
“We have a very strong outlook as well as a lot of success over the past 10 years,” said Lance Thies, Director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Lockport.
From the city’s master planning in development to the revitalization of the downtown, it continues to see growth in new businesses and inviting residents to make Lockport their home.
In 2025, the city welcomed 32 new businesses or new business ownership, Thies said, with the outlook positive for more new businesses in 2026 including casual fast food restaurants, coffee driveups and retail businesses too.
In 2025, the new Summit Ice Center opened and is expected draw visitors yearround to its two NHL size ice rinks that can host hockey, figure skating and event rentals.

In 2026, the city leaders will continue searching for the right business to locate to the Star Innovation District, located along the Chicago Sanitary & Ship Canal, the Illinois and Michigan Canal and two railway lines. The city leaders created a master plan for the former refinery site as it seeks a development that will fit into the vision for Lockport’s future.
The city has roughly 130 acres available for development, while it retains a portion of the site to serve as home to the community’s largest festival, Old Canal Days. Roughly 26 acres of the remaining property is under construction for a solar farm.

Lockport continues to experience growth in its housing with new construction providing a variety of options from rentals to single-family homes. Thies said 90 new housing permits were issued in 2025.
Leasing is underway at The Springs, a new neighborhood that is slated to offer 320 apartments when completed. Thies added it took just a few weeks for The Port to lease its 30 apartments in the new mixeduse commercial building in downtown Lockport.
Construction is underway at Sadie Ridge north of Bruce Road and east of Interstate 355, a housing development that includes 260 single-family detached and attached homes. The Oak Valley neighborhood north of 151st Street and west of Interstate 355 will have 148 townhomes when complete.
Work will begin in 2026 at Serenity Landing, which when complete will have 633 new homes, in a development that includes townhomes, single-family detached homes as well as apartments and even retail space.

Bigger and brighter — that’s the plan for the 2026 Old Canal Days as the summertime festival incorporates a new drone light show feature into its entertainment lineup.
“The drone show will kick off Thursday at 10 p.m. and the fireworks will close the festival out at 9:30 p.m. Sunday,” explains Beth Mrozek, Executive Director of the Lockport Chamber of Commerce.

A drone is a small, remotecontrolled aircraft. Mad Bomber Fireworks, which had produced the fireworks show for the festival in the past, will bring another specular fireworks show in addition to the new drone show.
For the show multiple drones are used in a synchronized aerial show to light up the sky with designs. Mad Bomber Fireworks has custom designed the drone show for Old Canal Days, Mrozek said. She added, “It’s going to be an awesome show.”
Old Canal Days is Lockport’s signature summer festival. This year’s festival opens Thursday, June 11 and continues through Sunday, June 14. Coordinated by the Lockport Chamber of Commerce, the event includes a carnival, artisan market, food court, beer garden and an annual parade.
This year marks the 53rd year of the annual festival, bringing together
traditions and new features.
“We will constantly evolve,” Mrozek said.
A new feature to this year’s festival is the 50/50 raffle, where throughout the festival visitors will have a chance to purchase a ticket and win a cash prize.
The festival is located along Second Street in Lockport with parking available onsite.
Following outstanding reviews from visitors, the chamber signed a multi-year contract with North American Midway Entertainment, Inc, for the carnival, Mrozek said. The entertainment company provides great rides and games for all ages, with an online ticketing system that makes it quick and easy for visitors to purchase passes.
The festival will continue its Friends with Disabilities event, inviting those with disabilities to pre-register to enjoy the carnival

before the crowds from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday. Registration will be available on the festival website, oldcanaldays.com.
Mrozek said they are looking to add a few more food vendors, giving visitors plenty of tasty treats to enjoy at the festival. The festival is a great opportunity for local vendors to showcase their top menu items, Mrozek said.
Join the crowds in downtown Lockport for the annual parade on Friday, stepping off at 6 p.m.
The Old Canal Days parade is a cherished tradition. This year’s theme will celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
The annual Artisan Market will open Saturday and Sunday, hosted by the Lockport Women’s Club. The Artisan Market features handmade items and crafts. Visitors can also learn more about local history with Historic District Trolley Tours and Cemetery History Walks.
The multi-day event features great musical performances each day. Grab those boots for Friday’s Country Night featuring the Tim Gleason Band and the band Tennessee Whiskey. The weekend will feature performances by Hoodwinked, Sparks Fly, Beyond the Blond and the band Arra. The weekend closes with the fun 90s Pop Nation.
For the latest information on the festival, ticket purchases and schedules, see the website, www.oldcanaldays.com and follow the Old Canal Days social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.

From eight storage tanks to a modern facility capable of processing more than 187,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), the CITGO Lemont Refinery has become a valued member of the local community and a trusted business partner along the historical Illinois and Michigan (I&M) Canal Corridor.
Construction of the oil refinery was initiated by owner C.B. Schafer of Chicago on 127th Street in Lemont, Illinois in 1922. The refinery became operational in 1926, and in less than 10 years, faced a massive expansion to meet the demand for petroleum products. The refinery is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026.

From the first day the family turned on the lights to their first automotive dealership, the business philosophy has been simple: hard work, straight talk and a genuine respect for every customer. These principles hold true today for the familyowned dealership as they invite their staff and customers to join the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Bettenhausen Automotive in 2026.
Four generations of the Bettenhausen family have kept the business thriving, evolving with the times and technology while never wavering on the principles of treating people right and standing behind their automotive products and service.
Bettenhausen Automotive has four locations. In 2024 the family opened Bettenhausen Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram of Lockport, the newest full-service dealership in its portfolio. It has quickly developed strong ties in Lockport, from its support for the Lockport Chamber of Commerce and its events to sponsorships for Old Canal Days and the summer car shows.
“We love being in Lockport,” said Caitlyn
Bettenhausen, Event & Marketing Manager for Bettenhausen Automotive.
Celebrating the 70th anniversary of Bettenhausen Automotive is an opportunity to look back at its simple start and celebrate its latest developments, such as the expansion with Bettenhausen CDJR of Lockport.
The Bettenhausen named gained national recognition when Tony Bettenhausen launched into the auto racing scene more than 70 years ago. Tony Bettenhausen was the national champion in 1951 and 1958 and had 51 starts at the Indianapolis 500.
In 1956, Herbert Bettenhausen launched the first family automotive dealership in downtown Tinley Park. From the start, Herbert Bettenhausen shared the principle that his employees were the greatest asset to the business. That remains true to today, where many long-time employees feel like part of the family, Caitlyn Bettenhausen said.
Through the years Bettenhausen Automotive has expanded inventories, updated service, opened new facilities while always preserving its family-owned character. Bettenhausen Automotive has been recognized as the area’s No. 1

dealership for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat, certified pre-owned and Mobility vehicles.
Along with its dealerships in Lockport, Orland Park and Tinley Park Bettenhausen Automotive has The Garage in Tinley Park, focused on complete automotive repair for all makes and models as well as providing service to specialty equipped vehicles for those with disabilities. Bettenhausen Automotive’s Tinley Park dealership is also home to its racing heritage.
As Bettenhausen Automotive celebrates its 70th anniversary there will be monthly special events and opportunities to win gift cards and more simply by visiting and taking a test drive. Visit Bettenhausen Automotive website and follow their social media pages for the latest anniversary specials and watch for a special celebration taking place later this year.
From its racing history to a legacy of customer service and community support, the Bettenhausen Automotive family continues to reach for new milestones while staying true to the founding principles of respect, honesty and customer satisfaction.

Gallery Seven, located in the Historic Gaylord Building along the I&M Canal, supports community art by providing a space for selected local artists to exhibit and sell their work. Founded in 2007 by seven volunteer partners, Gallery Seven still operates under this original structure today.
Every month, Gallery Seven dedicates space to highlighting the artwork of a featured artist. Gallery Seven hosts two juried art exhibits annually: Open Lens, which focuses on photography, and Illiart, featuring Illinois artists working in a range of media.
