Tutors are trained and supported by a multi-level coaching model. While serving in the program as a tutor, you will work one-on-one with students in kindergarten through third grade who need help learning to read. The next term of service will start Oct. 23 and end May 31, 2019. Members earn a stipend of $6,866 over the service period, which equates to $457 in twice monthly paychecks before taxes. After successfully completing your term, members receive an education award of $2,960. That can be used to pay tuition at institutions of higher education or to pay back qualified student loans. Members can also place qualified student loans into forbearance and have all or a portion of the interest that accrued on them paid off after they successfully complete their terms.
