Jasper County Animal Control Officer The Jasper County Board of Supervisors is seeking qualified applicants to fill the newly created position of Animal Control Officer. This will be a full-time position and eligible for County Paid benefits. Salary range $35,000 to $45,000 based on qualifications and experience, this position will receive County benefits Individual will be responsible for ensuring the County is compliance with State and local laws and County ordinances. Other duties will include but not limited to: Provide animal handling and care (feed, water, exercise) clean, sanitize and disinfect animal holding areas; assist first responders/ police/ fire/zoning when animals are involved; appear in court when necessary; conduct investigations into animal cruelty, neglect, vicious animals, licensing, and complaints such as loud or barking dogs, and animal bites; complete required County and State required paperwork, document and write reports as necessary; attempt to locate owners of lost/injured animals; response to calls for animals, wild or domestic including vicious animals or livestock; maintain records for quarantine of animals; interact with the general public for animal control issues; maintain vehicle; stock supplies at shelter; other tasks as identified or assigned Scheduled hours will vary, selected candidate will need to be flexible and available to respond for emergency calls in evenings, overnight and some weekends.

Feeding A Global Need: Youth Hunger And Malnutrition Continue To Grow (NAPSI)—According to the United States Department of Agriculture, in the U.S., more than 12 million children receive free or reduced-price breakfast at school, and more than 29.7 million get lunch through the national school lunch program. For many, school meals are the only consistent food they get in a day and, while many school districts have continued distributing meals during the pandemic shutdown, when the school year ends, so do school meals. But there is hope and help. Nationally, companies and non-profit organizations are partnering to help meet the needs in the community. One such partnership between Herbalife Nutrition and Feed the Children, a nonprofit organization, aims at solving the issue of food insecurity. The two organizations have united under the shared commitment to defeat hunger worldwide. The Importance of Nutrition The most vulnerable members of our society, children, rely on school meals and feeding programs to survive. Families living paycheck to paycheck may not have savings or support systems to help them.
