Project Success sees changes, has openings By Isabella Petty IV Leader Editor
Project Success, IVCC’s federally funded TRiO program to boost college students, has seen some changes this academic year, but continues to provide services for students. Counselor Aseret Loveland resigned her position at the start of the academic year in order to spend time with family, leaving Project Success with two full-time couneslors. “The job has been posted and we hope to have someone in place within 4-6 weeks,” said counselor Diane Scoma. “In the meantime, Chris [Herman, Project Success director] and I will assist her students with their needs.”

According to ivcc.edu, roject Success is for first generation students, students with disabilities, and low income students with FAFSA records on file. It offers academic and career planning support, transfer and scholarship aid, financial literacy and personalized assistance. Some more highlights of Project Success include early registration, access to professional tutors, designated computer lab and study area with free printing, and additional possible scholarships if qualifying and PELL eligible. Spirit Day activities planned for Sept. 16 By Jacy Miller Opinion Editor
IVCC Spirit Day will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the courtyard. This annual event, which is hosted by the Student Government Association, brings together student organizations and campus departments to showcase everything they have to offer.
The event offers the opportunity for students to discover new clubs, learn about upcoming activities, meet new people, and become more involved in campus life, according to organizers. There will be games, food, activities, and opportunities to make new friends and connections. In addition, the new Eagle logo will be unveiled at 11 a.m. in the courtyard.
