A group of quarter horses huddle together Oct. 1 in Hampshire. The horses are part of the 75 abandoned quarter horses that were left in inadequate living conditions for the past two years in Hampshire. The horses’ owner, once a leader in breeding American Quarter Horses, fell on difficult times after the death of two family members and the loss of her family farm in Harvard. All horses are available for adoption through Hooved Animal Rescue & Protection Society and Hands & Hooves Rescue.
