Passenger service on rail, bus and air is also readily available and connects you to any location you want to go. Chicago’s Metra service can be accessed in Elburn, IL, a few minutes outside of DeKalb. If you want to fly to your destination, then there is O’Hare International Airport, Chicago Midway Airport and Rockford International Airport. DeKalb also has its own DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport located on the northeast side of the city… it handles both private and corporate aircraft, including 737-jets.

eKalb is located just 65 miles west of Chicago, 29 miles northwest of Aurora (Illinois’ second largest city) and 40 miles south of Rockford. DeKalb offers ready access to I-88 (two interchanges in DeKalb) and I-39. The historic Lincoln Highway (Illinois Route 38) travels through the heart of DeKalb’s downtown.
